No? What have you been doing all evening?:Merisu:
Again, sorry, but I've been running low on sleep this week (one, two - "Aw, poor Pitch!")... and I'm not really fond of mate:p. Still, enjoy yourselves! |

A pity I couldn't have joined you yesterDay (err... again...), but I ended up being busy for the evening... another time then. It seems though that you have spent some time there, so I guess you managed...
|
Meh, missed it again. :(
Btw, do you record the sessions? I would really like to hear some of them. |
Actually, we failed at reading anything (first there were too few people and then we just got nothing done) - we only had a Skype chat. We could try reading the Ent thing some time later?

We need to figure out when the next one of these is going to happen. We still need to read about Ents!
|
If we do this tomorrow, I can be there (with a deeper, non-ridiculous Cold!voice, too!). If we do this the Saturday after Thanksgiving, not so much. The Saturday after that, not a clue.
|
Can't we rather choose Sundays?
Saturday evenings are not the that ideal in my opinion. |
You guys could, if you liked, but I'm always busy on Sunday mornings - for obvious reasons.
|
Ok, well I'm better now...
So when are we doing this thing? |
Did the thread died? :D
Would be nice to have a read soon, starting with February I have my exam-period again, and I doubt I'll be able to make it on Skype then. |
Yeah we should! We still haven't done the Ent chapter... This weekend won't work for me, but next week is still holiday.
|
Yeah, it's been an awfully long time since the last reading (due to Christmas intervening, I suppose), the tradition is in some need of reviving. This weekend won't work for me either, but the one after that should be fine, and finally reading the Ent chapter would be awesome!
|
The weekend after this sounds good for me. And, yes, we MUST read about the ents finally!
|
So, next weekend. Are we decided?

The ENTS!!! :D |

I might be in too. ;)
|
Just realized that next weekend has already become this weekend. So how about tomorrow? Would that work?
Roles for the Treebeard chapter (including Entmoot): -Narrator -Merry -Pippin -Treebeard -Quickbeam So we could do this with five people. If there's more, they could take turns as the narrator, and all join the chorus once we're marching on Isengard. What do you say? |
Tomorrow works fine. I can be around the whole evening but given how last time turned out, we should probably agree on a time. How does for example 7 PM GMT sound to you?
|
We should definitely fix a time. 7pm GMT would be fine for me, but I don't know about our friends beyond the Great Pond?
|
Firstly, I want to be Pippin, even though we'll probably decide our roles during the call, like we usually do.
Secondly, I thought that "next weekend" meant the weekend after this. Thirdly, 7 pm GMT would work fine for me on a weekend. This or next. Fourthly, ... well, I have nothing else to say. I think. |
Oo! Ooo! I can make it tomorrow! Yay!
|
I'll try to make it, and I should be able to... but Saturday mornings have had a bad habit of being interrupted by a sudden, unexpected obligation lately. Really, though, should be around. Looking forward to it. :)
|
Agan, Eönwë and me are online now, if anyone wants to join...
|
Okay there are 7 people online at the moment and we're probably going to start soon so if you'd still like to join, let us know!
|
*Cough*
|
I talked about this with Pitch on Friday, and I realised it's about time to get things organized in here, especially since I never made it to one of the readings!
So, who can make it next week on Sunday at 9pm GMT? Should be a friendly time for both the old and the new world. |
I guess I would be available, but I'd prefer closer to 8pm, as I'll probably working an early shift on Monday. Reckon with an hour to gather all the participants online, and another to pick a text and distribute the parts (we've tried to organize all that beforehand a few times, but so far that's never worked).
And can we please agree to postpone the Gandalf-uncloaks-jokes, gratuitous Doctor Who references and other general mayhem until after the reading proper this time? It's not like they're not fun, but taking hours and having people drop out again before we've even started reading like last time sort of defeats the original purpose. |
I almost plum forgot about these readings. Any time on the second half of Saturday would be good for me.

Sunday not working TGEW?
I ask because the Tolkien section's meeting in Karlsruhe is scheduled on Saturday, so I wouldn't be able to make it then. |

Uh, that call wasn't supposed to be today, was it? Because, if it was, I forgot.
|
Guess what kids? We should carry on with the readings. This might be a silly time of me to post this because I can't really take part in anything till September but let's not forget about this, okay.
|
I feel quite ashamed for having started this thread and having forgotten about it until I saw your post just now.
Definitely agree with you, I think it should be doable to find a proper date. Any suggestions? Again on a Sunday at say 9PM CET? |
Noone? I can't haz reading? :(
|
Well, in any case, if not earlier, then I think we could try thinking about something for the 22th September, which is Thursday, if I am not mistaken - we can try to find out if that date would work for enough people or if, in case it didn't, we should move it, say, to the weekend after that, but still keeping it in the spirit of "it's Bilbo's and Frodo's birthday".
|
If the time works for me, I'd love to finally have an opportunity to join in! I love reading and hearing others read aloud - and I do have Skype now, though I'm not yet very proficient at using it.
Bilbo and Frodo's birthday (or shortly thereafter) sounds like a good date to me - that would make up for not being able to go to Oxonmoot this year. |
I'm up for a reading on the 22nd - evening, preferably. Does that exclude our American friends though?
|
All times are GMT -6. The time now is 07:19 PM. |
