Who am I kidding? It's not nicer at all. But I like it.

But....but....but I knew who Fatty was and everything! And I liked him! (Granted it's because the duck told me about him, but still....) Then again Maggot had the super!shrooms so he couldn't be all bad either. I like mushrooms. They're tasty. :)

Heh I like how I'm more interested in the characters in the context of a silly game than I am in actually reading the books. Go me. ;)

Didn't you know that I am actually Tom Bombadil? (When Nogrod's on holiday, that is)

edit: Again. Enough with the editing, people.

Even if he was pals with Bombadil...
I thought it was kind of cool that Tom thought Maggot was a big shot.

But more importantly, he beat up Frodo when he was young, and chased him with his dogs. :D

Now, THAT's just not fair!!! You get to be Manwe's herald AND Iarwain?

And you don't randomly burst into doggerel. Sorry, but I just don't buy it.

...whom does that make Goldberry?

*dodges a flying Skwerl*

Well, you can't beat that. (Not to mention scaring the living daylights out of the poor fellow... heh heh heh)

the phantom 04-22-2009 05:30 PM

This game was fun. I love picking on hobbits.

Aganzir 04-22-2009 05:32 PM

Sally & Mnemo it was simply fair that Fatty died after you killed poor Lobelia!

I'd say pick on someone your own size, but the Face of Boe's not around very often, and I think you'd get along pretty well anyway.

Mnemosyne 04-22-2009 05:32 PM

Heck, better than picking on hobbits--KILLING them!!!

*brain is suddenly stormed by a host of her hobbit OCs armed with pitchforks*

Hmm, maybe we should do a H&H Baby Seal edition next!

Hey, I didn't care particularly... it's just good to butter up the person who can kill you in your sleep.

But do you know who Iarwain really is?

And that's all from me on this thread: It's getting late over here.

I liked this game. 'Twas brillig, and the sli... er... 'twas fun

Heh heh.... Got just the pic for that.

Clickety-click! :D

Mnemosyne 04-22-2009 05:37 PM

...And Sally just screamed.

I'm not even going to ask what led you to that...

Yes, yes, I'm meant to be asleep. I'm going now.

Hee hee.... One time I did a search for pics of people being mean to cats (to send to my cat-lover friends).

Oh, and penguins, to send to a certain Downer. :p

And by complete accident this seal picture came up.

mormegil 04-22-2009 11:40 PM

Which one is next? Elves?

Gordis 04-23-2009 01:19 AM

Maybe better Orcs? Elves are booo-ring.:(

Tuor in Gondolin 04-23-2009 07:31 AM

I recall seeing once an all-girl band doing
Pretty Woman. Perhaps an all-female cast,
or all-monster (Shelob qualifies for either :D ).
Not sure about Lobelia. ;)

mormegil 04-23-2009 09:05 AM

Maybe female orcs...that list might be short though. If we do all female will we get the chance to do all male too;)?

Either orcs or female is fine with me. I suppose Uruks and trolls could count as Orcs

Nogrod 04-23-2009 03:15 PM

Stay away from the fray for one day and it's all over...

But we had a great winner on this round! Congrats to all those who made Maggot win!

the phantom 04-23-2009 04:54 PM

Some of the ideas that have been brought up in the past-
  • Elves
  • Men
  • Dwarves
  • Ainu
  • Females
  • Orcs (baddie minions)
  • Weapons & Armor

What sort of thing is everyone leaning towards for the next game? How about everyone giving a yes vote for anything and everything you like the idea of. Personally I'd give a yes to Weapons & Armor, Females, Orcs, and Ainu.

mormegil 04-23-2009 07:19 PM

++Dwarves and Ainu are my votes

Tuor in Gondolin 04-23-2009 07:56 PM

I'd say dwarves, women, or Ainur- but if Ainur you'd need
to include some Maiar to get to 20. Or some general mix
of the two.

Mnemosyne 04-23-2009 08:08 PM

I'm all up for Ainur--which I believe include Valar and Maiar.

Tuor in Gondolin 04-23-2009 08:27 PM

Doh! Quite correct about Ainur covering both. :o

Btw, if maia included there would be difficult choices
since they include Osse, Uinen, Melian, Gothmog.
Sauron, etc. In that case should heavyweights like
Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, be excluded if they've
already been participants- or seperate
games for Valar and Maiar?

But, of course, there are other interesting contests
suggested above and in the past.

Mnemosyne 04-23-2009 09:15 PM

I think Gandalf and Saruman should be included only if we refer to them by their Valinorean names. :D

Gordis 04-23-2009 11:26 PM

I think we shouldn't artificially bring the list up to 20. If there are 15 Valar (including ol'Morgoth) so be it.

And that goes for Orcs, for instance. I don't think we will find 20 Orcs with anything like a distinct personality in LOTR+Hobbit. So we just list all we remember and so be it, IMO.

the phantom 04-24-2009 10:14 AM

The votes thus far-
  • Elves
  • Men
  • Dwarves (2)
  • Ainu (4)
  • Females (3)
  • Orcs (2)
  • Weapons & Armor (1)
  • Monsters (1)

Who else has an opinion on what we do next?

Aganzir 04-24-2009 10:32 AM

I'd prefer Ainur or females, too.

Eönwë 04-24-2009 10:41 AM

Maybe separate Vala and Maia contest would be the answer. They're each very different characters and I think people might get upset if they're favourite Maia gets missed out.

Yeah, maybe have the Valar, and then the non-Vala Ainu.... I'll add the Valar as another category.
  • Elves
  • Men
  • Dwarves (2)
  • Ainu (5)
  • Females (4)
  • Orcs (2)
  • Weapons & Armor (1)
  • Monsters (1)
  • Valar

Gordis 04-24-2009 12:43 PM

We can make two parallel threads: Valar and Maiar contests.
