Estelyn Telcontar 11-26-2004 03:22 PM

I'll start with my favorite "T"s, please...

Guinevere 11-26-2004 03:43 PM

T is served...
Quote:

It is splendid for convalescence; and not only for that, for many it is the best introduction to the Mountains
!

Guinevere 11-27-2004 06:39 AM

Correct!

Wow, HerenIstarion! This is almost uncanny...

HerenIstarion 11-27-2004 06:52 AM

I know I'm great, I know! :smokin:

Seriously, convalescence gave it away - too long and uncommon a word, you know :)

Concerning the method, 'short words' are almost always easy to get, when you have t's - i.e it, that, not, but, get type of words, and, when one has a 13-letter key word in there, the rest is the speed of search :)

Ok, on to next one:

Quote:

--- ---- --------- ---- ---------- ---- --- --------- ---- --- ------- --- -- ------; --- --- --- ------- - ------ -- ---- -------. -- ----, ---, -- -- --- ------ -- ------- -- ----- - --------- -- ---- -----, ----- - ------ -------- -- ------ --- -----------.

Guinevere 11-27-2004 07:47 AM

That's a long one! Can I have the A's ?

HerenIstarion 11-27-2004 07:55 AM

of course:

Quote:

--- -a-- -----a--- ---- ------a--- -a-- a-- --------- --a- --- ------- -a- -- --a---; --- --- a-- --a---- a ------ -- ---- ----a--. -- ----, ---, -- -- --- ------ -- ------- -- ----- a --a------ -- ---- -a---, a---- a ------ ----a--- -- ------ a-- --------a--.

Estelyn Telcontar 11-27-2004 11:17 AM

I'll stick with my favorite starting letter and ask for "T"s, please.

HerenIstarion 11-27-2004 03:34 PM

Tuor of Gondolin 11-27-2004 04:10 PM

How about some "s"s?

HerenIstarion 11-27-2004 04:28 PM

Quote:

--- -a-- -----a--- ---- ------a--- -a-- a-- ---t----- t-at --- ---t--- -as -- --a---; --t --- a-- --a---- a -----t -- ---- ----a--. -t -s--, s--, t- -- t-- --st-- -- -----ts t- -ss-- a --a------ -- s--- -as-s, a-t-- a ------ ----a--- -- t-t--s a-- ------t-a-s.
Underlined and bold word is were I omitted one T in my previous. My apologies

rutslegolas 11-27-2004 10:58 PM

And some "R"s please.

Guinevere 11-28-2004 07:13 AM

Can't do without some E's after all...

Estelyn Telcontar 11-28-2004 01:37 PM

....and some "N"s too please.

"You have concealed your honorable name and pretended that our meeting was by chance; yet you are plainly a knight of high lineage. It used, sir, to be the custom of knights to issue a challenge in such cases, after a proper exchange of titles and credentials."

HerenIstarion 11-29-2004 02:02 AM

The floor is yours, Your Majesty :)

Guinevere 11-29-2004 02:50 PM

Thank you! :)

Estelyn Telcontar 11-29-2004 04:11 PM

At the risk of being boringly repetitive, I'm going to ask for "T"s again...

Guinevere 11-29-2004 04:28 PM

And quite a lot of T's ! ;) I hope HI doesn't see it already!!
Quote:

-t-----t/ --/ t--/ ----'-/ --t-/ t-/ t--/ ----/ --/ t--/ -----/, ---/ t---/ ----/ t--/ ----/ ---/ --t-/ t--/ ----/. T--t'-/ ---t/ ---/ -----t---/ ----/.

Tuor of Gondolin 11-29-2004 04:41 PM

"s"s, please.

HerenIstarion 11-29-2004 04:50 PM

Oops, I did it again...

I've seen it already:

straight/ is/ the/ ----'s/ --t-/ to/ the/ ----/ of/ the/ -----/, for(and)/ that/ ----/ the/ ----/ for (and)/ into/ the/ ----/. That's/ what/ she (you, him, her)/ -----t---/ told (said, made, done)/.

Straight being the keyword, the answer is:

Quote:

Straight up the moon's path to the edge of the world, and then over the edge and onto the moon. That's what old Psamathos said.

Guinevere 11-30-2004 09:22 AM

:D You really have an eye for words, HI ! *bows in awe*

HerenIstarion 11-30-2004 09:42 AM

I suppose its mere luck :)

Next one:

Quote:

--- ------ ----- ---- ------ -- ------!
---- ------- ---, --- ---, ---- ------
--- ----- --- -----, -- ---- --- ------,
---- ---- ----- ------ ------.

Guinevere 11-30-2004 12:17 PM

Are there any O's ?

HerenIstarion 11-30-2004 04:01 PM

O

Some o's:

Quote:

---- -o--o-- o--, --- ---, ---- ------

Tuor of Gondolin 11-30-2004 06:20 PM

"i"s?

HerenIstarion 11-30-2004 07:38 PM

Oi

I's:

rutslegolas 12-01-2004 12:03 AM

And some "A"s please.

Guinevere 12-01-2004 02:05 AM

We need consonants too : how about the useful T's ?

Estelyn Telcontar 12-01-2004 07:51 AM

Oh, I have it! That was Corrigan to Aotrou (in The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun):
Quote:

Let thanks abide till thanks be earned!
Such potions oft, men say, have burned
the heart and brain, or else are nought,
only cold water dearly bought.
