Yes indeed, you are right.
In what land did the Variags dwell?
This is my first time posting, go easy on me
I believe it's Khand, a land lying somewhere beyond (east of) Mordor... |
Khand was the answer I was looking for Galahat, that earns you the right to ask the next question, and btw, welcome to the Downs
Thanks! Telchar
Well, here goes nothing: I am Child of both darkness and light. At first I prefered the light in me, but I betrayed it, when I was confronted with darkness itself. I hope that's not too easy..or too flawed for that matter |
Maeglin, he is the son of Eol and Turgons sister(forgot name) and went to Gondolin without fathers permisson and confronted by Morgoth!!!
That is correct!
Proceed |
I have lead a host, yet i didn't
I have slain many kings, yet i didn't I have protected the greatest, yet i didn't I have died in the grand city, yet i didn't Which Bad guy am I? (very hard! only for expert/intermedite Tolkien fans only!) [ October 08, 2003: Message edited by: Gil-Galad ] |
Gothmog?
state which one
Gothmog the Lieutenant of the Balrogs?
Or is it Gothmog lord of Morgul
Gothmog Lieutenant of the Balrogs killed at least two kings, Feanor and Turgon and Gothmog lord of Morgul killed none. Gothmog lieutenant of the balrogs protected Morgoth, Gothmog lord of Morgul protected Sauron who was great but not the Greatest. The lieutenant of the Balrogs was killed in Gondolin. The lord of Morgul was killed, I think some were at the Battle of the Pelennor fields. |
Gothmog Lord of Balrogs.
Esta is right, it was Gothmog, Leitenit of Morgul and Gothmog killed 3 kings, Fingon, Feanor and Turgon. it is your turn
So... why 'didn't' he kill the three kings, Gil-Galad?
becasue there were 2 Gothmogs mentioned, one being the Balrog and other being the LT of Minas Morgul, the one from Minas Morgul didn't kill 3 kings but Gothmog the Balrog did
A leader I’m
Strict I was too much Camp against camp Big against small For fear I have no room except one There I stood high,Proud until the end |
Uldor the acursed?
Nope
*Hint* he is from the third Age? |
Castamir?
[ October 20, 2003: Message edited by: Telchar ] |
No
the person I'm looking for is late third age [ October 20, 2003: Message edited by: Estanesse ] |
Denethor.
right period wrong answer
Maybe its Saruman? He fits in pretty good!
He does, but no that’s not the bad guy I’m looking for.
Er-Murazor, the Witch-King?
who is Er-Murazor?
Surely it's Ugluk. He was certainly a strict leader, although there was infighting (camp against camp and big against small) amongst the Orcs he "led". He fears no-one except Saruman, and he stood and fought when the Rohirrim attacked.
It is almost perfect Sauce, except the bad guy and the part about Saruman.
Hint- take "There I stood high" literal [ October 21, 2003: Message edited by: Estanesse ] |
Er-Murazor was the "human" name for the witch-king, before he became a NAzgul
Shagrat then?
Indeed, Shagrat is the bad guy.
There was a fight (the Shagrat camp fought against the Gorbag camp) because Shagrat forbid the other orcs to search (and steal that mithril coat) Frodo. Big against small is the fight between Shagrat and Snaga. Shagrat was pretty fearless, until he saw Sam with the one ring. He ran away like a frightened schoolgirl |
Hmmm.... I thought that "Er-Murazor" was a name that came from a set of commercial LoTR playingcards which has nothing, what so ever, to do with anything JRR Tolkien wrote...
I plead that the quizroom sticks to what is Written in the books unless anything else is asked for... A point of view - shared by Telchar... [ October 21, 2003: Message edited by: Telchar ] |
I remember reading about Er-Murazor in many tolkien related books, including silmarillion and the appendices
ok...

And so to my question: Which "Bad Guy" was driven mad by internal torment and, in his madness, breached the defences of a well-protected place? [ October 21, 2003: Message edited by: The Saucepan Man ] |
That would surely be Carcharoth when he in pain and rage entered Doriath with a burning Silmaril in his belly.
Ah, I knew that I should have tried to be more vague in my wording. You are of course quite right, Telchar. Please continue.
This bad guy came as promised and expected, they all had so great hope in him, but he availed little in the end.
the witch-King? when he lead the seige on Minas Tirith? he of course failed
