you have a dream involving hiding in hobbit holes.
you quote lines at times when they dont make sense and have no relevance.

I have relatives that live in Dordrecht, and my grandparents are both from Holland. Why on earth they decided to move to Utah is beyond me; I think Holland would be more interesting.

Happy 1000th post, BTW.

*snif snif*

This is the happiest day in my life.

Do you speak Dutch Anyway?

Sapphire_Flame 05-10-2003 09:41 AM

Eh, not tons. Like, I can count, and swear, that's about it.

Helkahothion 05-10-2003 09:44 AM

Well what else do you need from a foreign language except counting and swearing?

SO you understand when I call you a vuile lelijke gore achterbakse tyvushond?

Or a Uit de baarmoeder gezwaaide neukfout?

Ill bet you won't.

Sapphire_Flame 05-10-2003 09:48 AM

My mother's a what? I'm telling my grandpa on you.

Eressië Ailin 05-10-2003 05:06 PM

Rilwen~

I know you didn't ask for the pics. But I stole your idea, and I thought you might want to see the pics. But they're not working, are they?

Helkahothion 05-10-2003 05:12 PM

They are, I can see them.

Lily Bombadil 05-11-2003 05:56 PM

Helkahothion,
Are you from the U.K.? Just curious. I'm also wondering how green it was up Legolas' nose.
Oh!
~You know you're obsessed with LotR when-
You call your boyfriend Beren & he calls you Tinuviel. Vice/versa.
OR
You call your boyfriend Aragorn, Strider, etc, etc. & he calls you Arwen, Undomiel, Evenstar, whatever. Vice/versa.
~You call your dad Gaffer or My Gaffer to others.

Lily Bombadil 05-11-2003 06:03 PM

I forgot:
Your swift to anger father sets a quota on the amount of times you can say "Frodo" in one day.
Once I talked so much about LotR with my cousin & sister that my "Gaffer" (he he) said we weren't allowed to say "Frodo" any more in front of him that day. He also basically said if we didn't stop he was going to beat our @$$&$. If you see what I mean.

Helka, I did NOT want to know that. I guess I deserve it for asking though. However, I shall refrain from asking how in ME you fit a computer in there.

I turned 17 yesterday and my best friend gave me another cloak. My other one is only about knee-length, but this one is long and white and hooded and I'm going to wear it to school tomorrow. That should be interesting.

you put runes on al your diskets, and mainly on the one you use for your English portfolio. Hope the bord doen't flunk me.

I live in NM! anyone from NM?! I hate it here as anyone can see from the shiprock NM as Mordor on Earth. How come there is no one from NM. Acctually this is funny, in my serch fro help to put on a LOTR convention here in NM i emailed this British group and they sent me thier South American contact! i had to e-mail them back telling thenm that I needed their North American contact and not to worry people mistake us all the time for Mexico even people in our own.

Any way back to topic. yopu make friends and family Mirrors with Elvish inscrptions on them for any major holiday or birthdaythat requires presents.

you think that our gift giving traditions should be like that of Hobbits and you intend on pratcing them.

you get excited over the Frodo action figure, and buy him, then you want to buy the gandalf one that is in an obscure corner in a Wal-Mart close by.

Lemme put something on topic...
~You're obsessed with LotR when you correct your Sunday School teacher, telling him/her that it's not Solomon, but Saruman. *guilty...*

Vuelve 05-12-2003 07:16 PM

I've done these recently:

-You do the whole "nassty nassty, hurtss usss, hurtss usss ect.." in your best Gollum voice when your teacher hands out suckers in class. (I said this to my teacher on accident once, completely random thought, It just came out. Needless to say I got in trouble.)

-You sprinkle pieces of paper in a bowl and ask fellow classmates if they would look into the mirror. (Got a lot wierd looks and "What mirror?" from this one. I guess it just isn't the same effect without the picher. )

***I just thought that everyone would like to know that the all famous "Do the wave for Boromir the disco king!" is taking the world by storm.I started it with some of my fellow LOTR loving classmates and today I got half my class to do the wave.(I didn't say for Boromir the disco king though, but DISCO WILL PREVAIL!!!!)

~You respond better to your elven name than the name your parents gave you

~You've gotten your three year old sister to respond better to her elven name than the one your parents gave her

You really should! It takes a little time, and they really have to want to learn it and respond to it for it to work.

~You've read the appendix more than three times over and giggled gleefully everytime you see the part about the Barrow Downs

~When someone else is watching the movie you can quote the words from downstairs, even though you can hardly hear the music

~You are currently trying to teach all three of your younger sisters how to speak Quenya and Sindarin

~All your sibblings call you by your elven name, knowing it's the only way they'll ever get your attention

When you learn to play may it be on the recorder.
I have a mood ring, (not a one ring unfortunately ) and when people want to see it I say "nooo itsssssss my precioussss."

~Your schoolwork on the computer is constantly covered by a black and green screen which your mother calls "Mount Doom"

Your obssesed with lotr when-
~You start to think in elvish~
~ you insult people in elvish~
~you freak out whenever the keebler elves appearon tv("THOSE ARENT ELVES! THERE MUTANT GNOMES OR SOMETHING!")
~ Your pets are named merry, pippin, frdod, same, eowyn, aragorn and gollum~
~Your asked to say grace at christmas and you pray to elbereth instead of god (oopsie)
~your friends call you the elf girl~
*guilty of all of the above lol,*

Arafangwen 05-14-2003 04:32 PM

~You're sick and are convinced that Elrond is coming to help you

~You're convinced that since Elrond has not come, he must be sending Legolas in his place to make you feel even better

~At the doctors office, he askes you what's wrong and you reply "I am wounded, and I shal never heal." You get some really weird looks from that one

~You keep repeating during Harry Potter and the chamber of secret's that Dobby os not a real elf*guilty*

~You claim to know more about Lotr that the entire school does*guilty, but at my school that claim is easely made, since their are no other Tolkien lovers that go as far as me.

~You write Lotr names on you're school bag with typex.*guilty*

I know. I did get that translated, BTW. Try Sindarin insults next time; they're harder to find translations for.

~You're obsessed when, for your final solo in choir you sing May It Be or In Dreams.

~When, after the above performance, you get offended when nobody knows what the song is from.

*guilty of both the above...*

Bekah 05-15-2003 10:12 PM

I do the Dobby one. Also I got really irritated all through the Faerie Queene. It was a compulsory read-aloud, and Mum seemed to delight in emphasising the 'and that elfin knight...' Grrr! St. George just ain't no elf.

Quote:

That I should be so lucky!! We're doing horrible music at choir right now. And I don't get to do solos. (Mind you, only two other woman get to do those.)

I drove my whole family crazy by playing those two songs and Aniron and then singing with them, all the while taping the result.

Which wasn't very good.

Cheers,

I'm sorry, Bekah. I lucked out with this, because my teacher said we could pick any song we wanted for the final. I assure you, though, that I can sympathize with having to sing crappy music.
