Vanima: Blonde. Got into LOTR on account of the guys in the movie and found out that there was more to it than Orlie's cheekbones. Smiles a lot. Braces?
Nope: been a Tolkien fan for seven years: since I was 8 and read "The Hobbit"...I read "Lord of the Rings" when I was 9...

The only reason I like Orlando Bloom is because he plays Legolas. I fell in love with Legolas when I was 9, and 1st read the books, then, I thought Mr. Bloom did a pretty good job playing the character of Legolas they gave him. That's why I respect him as an actor...personally: I've seen guys a lot more handsome than the guys from the Fellowship, but they're better actors than the beautiful guys are, so: I respect them for that.

Got my braces off 2 years ago, actually! Now I just wear the retainer at night...and: I do smile a bit, I guess...when I'm not being so cynical that my friends yell at me.

Elenna 09-21-2002 03:27 PM

That wasn't meant personally - just a guess meant to be a joke.

Feel free to get back at me by guessing what I look like!

And if you did start liking LOTR for those reasons, you wouldn't be the only one on this forum.

Cimmerian 09-22-2002 02:44 AM

I guess the posts must also have some impact on the reader to keep them interested. Someone with a thousand posts, but none with any relevance to my interests wouldn’t work for me.

Elenna – (I did take a guess on you earlier) A young girl, medium height and build. Has a great personality and depth in character. Comes across as a tough, courageous and direct kind of person, though she has a great heart and makes a good friend.

Susan Delgado – Initially mistaken for an Iberian, but very american. Pretty young lady, often bleary eyed and dull, due to lack of proper sleep. Don’t ever get under her skin though. Whew!

Ransom – A young boy, humourous and expressive, is driven by an ambition to prove himself to the big boys.

Collette Took – A sweet girl, but rather confused in a crisis. She likes happy people, dislikes taking sides.

Halbereth Diagona – A very insecure boy, is easily threatened by strong, authority figures. Likes colourful attire and is often neatly dressed.

Ilithael – Another very insecure girl, desperately trying to prove things when they aren’t necessary. Rather high strung, needs to relax more often.

Rosseiliantiel - Wild. Needs to cut her hair, clip her nails and gambol around in the sun a while.

Raefindel - Hm, kind of motherly. Ready to advise and love everyone. Probably most comfortable in the kitchen with all those knives. Obsessed with sharp pointed weapons, maybe.

You hit the nail on the head. Although, my nails aren't that bad, albeit a bit sharp. And I do NOT intend to cut my hair.

Wow! That's about as close as you get, Cimmerian! I don't know about the sharp weapons, though.

*looks up from wincing in axiousness* Oh that wasnt that bad! That is just about me, yeah except for im confused mostly all the time and i enjoy taking sides especially when it involves explosives of some sort, does that still count me as a sweet girl??
BTW: the sharp pointed weapon thing would be me actually

I posted my pic on show your true self people........if eny1 is interested.

Nevfeniel 09-22-2002 12:25 PM

I haven't seen your pic yet, Collette, so here's what I think right now:
short blonde hair, fair skin, a few freckles across your cheeks. Not sure what color eyes. . . maybe brown or grey. I think you're probably taller than me; of course, almost everyone is, so it's not a big revelation if you really are.

ColletteTook 09-22-2002 12:31 PM

To be honest im exactly the opposite.

The picture i have posted is not current, but currently i have short green hair and i am the fourth shortest person in my grade.
i have no freckles but my acne makes up for that .One of my eyes is brown and the other is hazel, yeah so im a bit of a freak.

Elenna 09-22-2002 12:34 PM

I know you guessed me earlier, Cimm.

I just feel bad, sort of teasing everyone else and not getting hit back.

And I feel very special, knowing that you think I'm a good friend.

Well, don't feel bad. Like I said, almost everyone is taller than me. In fact, I'm only 5'2", and the doctor said I've probably stopped growing!

Raefindel 09-22-2002 01:13 PM

I'm willing to bet $1000 I'm the shortest full-grown person on the Downs.

Elenna 09-22-2002 01:17 PM

I'm 5'3" in a family of really tall people - my uncle's 6'6", my mom's 5'9", my 2 aunts are 6'. Even my little sisters (13 and 10) are either taller or getting too close.

But to anyone who thinks they can push me around because I'm little, I would advise them to make sure they're insured.

Raefindel 09-22-2002 02:53 PM

LOL! Yes, the little who grow up among the big seem to believe they are big enough to compete somehow.

I like to make a point of calling my little brother just that, "little brother". I'm 5'even and he's 6'4".

ColletteTook 09-22-2002 03:02 PM

BUT IM NOT EVEN 5'2! IM 13 AND IM 4'11 AND IVE BEEN 4'11 FOR TWO YEARS!!!!! *sob* but when your a hobbit i guess it isnt so bad....

Raefindel 09-22-2002 03:20 PM

Well, I know how you feel, and all I can say is , you better find a tall husband or you kids are gonna be midgets.

Neferchoirwen 09-22-2002 11:33 PM

Hey, I'm 5'2!

And get this. I grew only an inch or two in the last ELEVEN years!

Lush reminds of one of my friends. Nice, fragile, but unpredictable.

I would see Kalimac as the wise Gandalf himself.

Susan Delgado 09-23-2002 03:26 AM

Hey, I want to try...
Cimmerian's described me twice, so I want to take a stab at him. Now, where'd I put that knife....

Let's see...Cim is medium height, thin, dark hair. Always has a lot of energy. Can't sit still, always has to be doing something. And very popular with the girls.

vanwalossien 09-23-2002 07:34 AM

OK, I know most people have either seen my pic or read the description here, but try to tell me how you imagined me..

The Fifth 09-23-2002 07:45 AM

Oh, and nobody wants to describe how I look?

Phoenix Solitude 09-23-2002 08:12 AM

Hmm...I'd say the Fifth was a scatty boy of about 15, with glasses, a real computer nerd!

Celebmundoiel 09-23-2002 02:04 PM

short women rock. Guys arn't afraid to date us because there embaressed that were taller then em'. No offence tall ladies, but I'm afraid I'm a wee bit biast being 5'2'' and a half.

Elenna 09-23-2002 02:06 PM

And we can wear spike heels or platforms, and we're never taller than the guys! Always a good thing for dances.

Plus, like I've said, people think they can push us around, and we can shock them!

gollum*elf*pup 09-23-2002 02:53 PM

Ya, sweet! Being short rocks! I can't get any taller or I won't be able to ride my pony anymore . Any1 wanna guess what I look like? A hint : I have four heads and seven left feet.

Cimmerian 09-24-2002 05:13 AM

Hey, I did it again, didn't I? Hit the nails on the head, I mean. Heh heh heh!

I can be frighteningly perceptive sometimes.

Susan, you're way off.

Um, couldn't you ladies discuss your height problems via PM. Why'd you want to embarass us tall people?

Elenna 09-24-2002 06:23 AM

Are you really embarrassed? I mean, I went to our last formal with a guy the same height as you and the photographer had to use a wide-angle lens to get both of our heads in the picture.

I personally like tall guys, unless they talk to each other over my head. That bothers me.

Bęthberry 09-24-2002 06:51 AM

Fifth,

I don't think words would do justice to how cool you are. You rock. http://216.40.241.68/contrib/ruinkai/saul.gif

Bethberry

The Fifth 09-24-2002 07:37 AM

Thanks, Bethberry. You're quite a good RPGer yourself.

Yes, I do have glasses. The age and scattyness is off, though.

LaurinaAinur 09-24-2002 09:38 AM

I feel for you gals...I'm "5'2" and an incalculable fraction"...and my boyfriend is 6'4". LoL...he loves it though. In a crowd, I usually feel either invisible or somewhat dumpy although I know it's not true
So now y'all have some more clues! Come on!?

ElanorGamgee 09-24-2002 01:57 PM

Hey, it's not exactly easy being tall either. I'm 5'11" and people are constantly saying "Hey, you're tall!" as if I haven't looked in a mirror in a few years or so. Plus it's hard to get a date (I have never had a boyfriend and I'm 18)
Oh, well, I'm done complaining

[ September 24, 2002: Message edited by: ElanorGamgee ]

Elenna 09-24-2002 02:16 PM

Elanor - Don't worry. I'm sure it's only because you have not yet found a guy worthy of you.

Galadrie1 09-24-2002 03:13 PM

IM 13 AND IM 4'11
...I'm 13 (almost 14 (yay!)) and I'm only 5' (I think... I measured myself at an audition and I got 5' even, but then I measured myself again at my friends house and got 4'11", then I measured myself at school and got 5'...) Anyway, it's fun being short! My best friend is 5'10" and somtimes if we're standing next to each other in a crowd she'll start yelling my name and looking around, and I'll just say, "Umm.. I'm down here!" It's hilarious!

Brinniel 09-24-2002 03:44 PM

I'm age 14 and 5'1" and half. I shouldn't really complain because I have friends shorter than me and there are 7th graders at are school (lots of them) who are only like 4'7"!

It's sad though, because there are guys who used to always be shorter than me, and suddenly they grew 3 inches over the summer. In a year's time, I've only grown a half inch. A half inch! I really don't mind much being short, but couldn't I grow just two more inches?

NazgulNumberTen 09-24-2002 04:05 PM

HA! IN YOUR FACE!! IM 14 AND 5'2" and a...HALF!!! BOO YAA!!!

Brinniel 09-24-2002 08:31 PM

Well, you don't have to rub it in!

Besides, I'm 5'3" and a half when I put my shoes on. So there!

Back on subject: Unfortunately, I can't exactly guess what anyone looks like anymore, especially since a lot of people have posted their pic (including me). It might be better off that way, since I'm no good at guessing.

Turambar 09-26-2002 02:18 PM

I imagine Nevfeniel looks like red -- only WAYYYYYY bigger.

Nevfeniel 09-26-2002 04:25 PM

Er, what does red actually look like? And "bigger" as in what?

NazgulNumberTen 09-26-2002 04:26 PM

i;d say it's because of reds pic, a cat, and yours a tiger. hope i cleared it up

Nevfeniel 09-26-2002 04:32 PM

Oooooohhhhh! Okay, don't I feel smart now .

Turambar 09-26-2002 04:35 PM

Yes - sorry, it was a lame avatar joke, Nevfeniel . . .
