What I meant to say is that I correctly identified the speaker of and to whom and about what the quote was. Granted, I did get the place and time wrong but I was a little confused thinking that it was supposed to be in TTT so I geussed it was at the parley. I probably would not have made this mistake had I tried the book but frankly I never use the book in helping to find a quote or to put up a new quote, everything I do and everything I know about any of these quotes is stored in my ugly, box-shaped head *grin*. Sorry for not explaining why I thought I got it earlier.

Okay, I've got one:

"If the giving of information is to be the cure of your inquisitiveness, I shall have to spend all the rest of my days in answering you."

Yeah, a bit easy, but it was the first line I found!

(BTW, Dondagnirion, I love the first line of your sig! )

Annunfuiniel 04-10-2003 11:48 AM

Gandalf to Pippin when they are riding towards Minas Tirith?

Sapphire_Flame 04-10-2003 03:04 PM

Right in one, Annunfuiniel!! Mae carnen!

Your turn.

Annunfuiniel 04-10-2003 03:54 PM

Why thank you, Sapphire Flame! (btw. how do you say 'thank you' in Sindarin/Quenya?)
Ok, here's the next line:
Quote:

and all weariness will fall from me!

Sapphire_Flame 04-11-2003 02:51 PM

First thing: That would be Gimli, speaking to Legolas at Helm's Deep.

Other thing: Hannon le is Thank You in Sindarin.

Annunfuiniel 04-11-2003 02:56 PM

Well, first of all: you're right! Please continue.
And secondly: Hannon le for the information!

Sapphire_Flame 04-11-2003 04:22 PM

Here's the new quote:

"'Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.'"

Have fun.

Rochelle 04-11-2003 05:38 PM

Sam quotes that

EDIT: Well it's Merry quoting Sam who is quoting Gildor, the original speaker *lol*

In this case, Merry is talking to Pippin.

Beren87 04-14-2003 04:16 PM

The Daughter of Gollum and Shelob 04-16-2003 07:29 AM

quote:
"Give me chipsss now, and keep your nassty chipssss!!!
This one is so hard, isn't it?

Airehiriel 04-16-2003 08:07 AM

"Give me chipsss now, and keep your nassty chipssss!!!
Shouldn't the quote be give me fishhh now?

Anyway, that is Gollum, to Sam while Sam is stewing the conies.

And besides, I think it is Earwen turn to post a quote. You can only post a quote when you guess the previous posted quote correctly. It was good for a first try though Daughter of Gollum and Shelob.

Beruthiel 04-16-2003 07:28 PM

Eomer says it to Aragorn, when discussing the chase of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli after The Orcs, Merry and Pippin.
