Remove The Master

Why The Master should go. . .

When we look upon The Master as a representative for the bourgeoisie who since the fall of Dale has taken controle over it’s people(now in Laketown). What picture do we get of these people? Well. . . .

The bourgeoisie, has in the history of laketown (+ Dale), played a most revolutionary part. The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his "natural superiors", and has left no other nexus between man and man than naked self-interest, than callous "cash payment". It has drowned out the most heavenly ecstasies of religious fervour, of chivalrous enthusiasm, of philistine sentimentalism, in the icy water of egotistical calculation. It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable freedom - Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct, brutal exploitation.

The bourgeoisie, has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage labourers. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation into a mere money relation.

Lets restore Laketown (Dale) to it’s former glory, remove The Master.

I am all for saving beorn as he was the best characte rin the hobbit. And now that Bilbo is gone, he is the best cook on the island, they need a break and some good food.

not to mention keeping watch into the night against the underhanded sabatage of the Chief Goblin & Co.

The Saucepan Man 12-13-2005 06:52 PM

Er, is this day ever going to end?

It would appear that a rather excessive daylight saving adjustment has severly prejudiced the Master's chances.

Typical of the proletarian masses to exploit such circumstances to do away with those who have served them so well in the past. :rolleyes: ;)

Glirdan 12-13-2005 09:03 PM

I AM SOOOOO SORRRY!!!! I had no time to get on the computer until now. I will have Day 14's cast out as soon as I tally the votes. Next time, if no one mind's and I don't seem to have it up by an hour after the nomal time, someon go ahead and take over. And once again, the deciding vote is up to me. Heads, Beorn. Tails, Master.

And the loser is....

Tails. The Master is gone.

Glirdan 12-13-2005 09:18 PM

Day 14

After a lengthy day of scheming and concipirating, the host finally returned after being "ill" for almost twenty four hours. The Master and Beorn were the ones who were greatly considered. However, everyone (except for a few) wanted the cheap, usless Master gone. "He's lazy and steals everyone else's gold and runs off with it!!!" an outraged Bard yelled. "I say out with him!!" That night, the way the accusations flew, no one was surprised at the end result:

Beorn - 6
The Master - 7
Oin - 1

"Fine!! I'm leaving!! You backstabbing scumbags!!!" With that, the others bellowed in rage and jumped on the Master. They tied his hands and feet together, blinded him and brought him to the other side of the island where they threw him off a cliff, where there were sharp, pointy rocks at the bottom.

Stop voting for people who have cogent characters, everyone.

Do you want the likes of Bifur and Dwalin, characters who say and do nothing memorable and don't even have the decency to get themselves killed, to win this competition?

Then for pity's sake, vote for them! Dwalin today...

++DWALIN

Lalaith 12-14-2005 03:32 AM

Ok, I'll accept that argument.
++DWALIN

Anguirel 12-14-2005 03:36 AM

Glirdan, in future, I'd like it if ties resulted in two evictions. It deals justice to both warring camps and makes the game progress faster. But that's just my view...

Holbytlass 12-14-2005 06:36 AM

Off with the uncogent character (had to look that one up):

++Dwalin

The Saucepan Man 12-14-2005 07:37 AM

Today I shall be voting for a grim and dour bore who offers no entertainment value whatsoever and whose contributions to the camp are more than matched by other contestants. What's more, as the man who was responsible for the death of one of the last, quite possibly the last, of the Great Dragons, he clearly has no sense of ecological responsibility and therefore poses a serious threat to the many endangered species which make their home on the island. Finally, his claim to be Lord of Dale was based on nothing more than the fact that he was apparently able to converse with a thrush!

++BARD

The man is an utter waste of space.

mormegil 12-14-2005 09:53 AM

I'll buy that arguement Sauce. He is an eliminator of species...sentient species nonetheless.

Tuor in Gondolin 12-14-2005 01:08 PM

Okay. DMG:

+ + Dwalin

Formendacil 12-14-2005 01:36 PM

We know very little about Dwalin son of Fundin, but what little we know bears out that he is a rather cruel and perverse character.

I am speaking, of course, of the statement that he was a blue beard.

Dwalin Bluebeard, or Bluebeard as we know him today, is best remembered for his longtime habit of marrying, and then summarily locking up and killing his wives. In a species as devoid of females as the Dwarven race is, this is a very serious crime.

Indeed, one has to wonder if Dwalin's main motivation for joining Thorin's company was the prospect of meeting the Iron Hills Dwarves, and finding a new population of Dwarven females to prey on.

It was clearly out of desperation for the family honour that his brother Balin left Erebor in search of Khazad-dum, rather than the prospect of mithril, as rumoured in Rivendell. That Dwalin, Balin's closest kin, remained behind is telling, for the number of females on the expedition must have been few, if any.

Away with this pervert!

Day 15

To a few people's great surprise, Dwalin was the one who got the most criticism. "He's useless!!! Useless I say!!" one said. "He's got a BLUE beard!! Even for Dwarves that's not a very common characteristic!!! And he didn't even die to give himself a good reputation!!!" Balin stated. "And Bilbo is gone!! This is for Bilbo!!!" Belladonna yelled!!! That night, the votes weren't surprising, no matter how spaced out they were:

Elrond - 1
Bard - 3
Bombur - 1
Dwalin - 9
Bifur - 1

"So what!? I have to go die to get myself a good name!? If that's what it takes to please you, I will!!!" And before anyone could stop him, Dwalin ran off into the jungle and wasn't seen again. No one knows what happened to him. Some say he fell off a cliff when he was crying, some say he was bit by a poisonous snake. However, everyone did feel that Dwalin, was in fact, dead.

Contestants voted out:
Bofur
Ori

It's the start of Day 16. Today's voting will go on until tomorrow night and end at around an hour later than usual, hopefully. I have Christmas concert to perform in and I'm there all night because I play right off the bat and right at the end. Another thing, incase you missed that post. In the case of a tie, I will be eliminating both people, unless it's three. If it's three people or more, it will be the ONE who got the most votes.

Humph. You and your carrots. I am not to be treated like a donkey, Mr Edgar Allan Jester....and I have much cause to distrust you.

Bifur is less important, especially on an
