The Perky Ent 03-13-2005 11:17 AM

Wood Elves?

Da Skorpion 03-13-2005 11:25 AM

Nope.

Gil-Galad 03-13-2005 01:54 PM

The Naugrim?

Da Skorpion 03-14-2005 01:13 AM

Nope.

Marky Lazer 03-14-2005 04:26 AM

The Dead?

Round a river east and west we’d settle,
River Morthond?
we decided during a great westward travel.
But when darkness engulfed the land,
only the west would stand.
East moved north,

"if the West prove mightier than thy Black Master, this curse I lay upon thee and thy folk..." They got cursed by 'the west'
and would hide underground henceforth.
They now live under the White Mountains.

Da Skorpion 03-14-2005 07:08 AM

Nice try, different river:)

I'd say try to find an other word for travel, and then look further.

Marky Lazer 03-14-2005 07:18 AM

Another try...

Silvan Elves?

Round a river east and west we’d settle,
Great River Anduin
we decided during a great westward travel.
But when darkness engulfed the land,
only the west would stand.
East moved north,
the Elves of the Great Journey travelled westward through the lands of Middle-earth
and would hide underground henceforth.
They lived in underground dwellings protected by magic.

Da Skorpion 03-14-2005 07:34 AM

Correct

Round a river east and west we’d settle, (Lorien & Mirkwood)
we decided during a great westward travel. (The great journey)
But when darkness engulfed the land, (Sauron's might spread to Mirkwood and Lorien)
only the west would stand. (Lorien was protected by Galadriel and her ring, Mirkwood would be taken by the Necromancer whom in fact is Sauron)
East moved north, (The wood elves retreated to the north of Mirkwood.)
and would hide underground henceforth. (They lived in underground dwellings protected by magic)

The Perky Ent: I couldn't count your answer as correct because only the Elves of Mirkwood are wood elves.

All of you: Are my riddles ok like this?

Marky Lazer 03-14-2005 07:37 AM

I like your riddles. Keep them coming... after you answered this one!

Party, all night long
Fireworks and songs
Wedding cakes
and Birthdays
Joy in many ways

Da Skorpion 03-17-2005 02:56 AM

Hmmmmm, I was actually hoping an other member would answer this one. I saw the answer immediately, but decided that it was too much Marky, me, Marky, me, Marky, me in this thread since I joined. But....

I CAN'T... TAKE IT... ANYMORE!!! ARGH!... MUST...... ANSWER!... CAN'T LET... THREAD... DIE... ;) :p

Party field, where Bilbo had his eleventy-first birthday.

Marky Lazer 03-17-2005 06:37 AM

It indeed was Party Field.

Yours again!

Da Skorpion 03-17-2005 06:47 AM

This one shouldn't be too hard...

Elves beautiful and bright,
tortured in the night.
Afraid of the sun,
I made each of them now a dark person.
Tough soldiers in line,
each of them are mine.

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-17-2005 06:57 AM

Can I join?

Orcs?

Da Skorpion 03-17-2005 07:05 AM

Yeah you can join imo.

But no, not Orcs, watch the 'I' and 'mine' :)

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-17-2005 07:11 AM

So, you mean Morgoth?

Big black guy, stupid-looking head accessory, scarred face? :smokin:

Da Skorpion 03-17-2005 07:21 AM

Correct. Melkor/Morgoth it is.

The thread's yours.

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-17-2005 09:58 PM

Thanks!

I walk unseen, but not unfelt.
I seek a gold ring, but not for wealth.
I talked to the father of the Elf-warrior
And chased the Ringbearer through field and river.

Easy one, methinks. :smokin:

Celebriel Esgaledhel 03-17-2005 10:46 PM

Strider?

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-17-2005 11:20 PM

Sorry, no.

Da Skorpion 03-18-2005 02:24 AM

The Nazgul?

paavo 03-18-2005 11:05 AM

Smeagol perhaps?

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-20-2005 08:59 PM

Paavo, why do you follow me around?

;) Just kidding.

Erm, a Nazgûl is somewhat right. But which Nazgûl did the things done in the last two lines?

Da Skorpion 03-21-2005 03:32 AM

Witch-king of Angmar?

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-21-2005 03:42 AM

I'm sorry, no.

Da Skorpion 03-21-2005 04:09 AM

Khamûl...

Marky Lazer 03-21-2005 04:10 AM

It has to be the Shadow of the East, Khamûl. Besides the Witchking of Angmar, he was the only one of the Nine named by Tolkien.

I talked to the father of the Elf-warrior
The Elf-warrior should be Legolas, his father Thranduil, who were Elves of Mirkwood. Khamûl was in the Mirkwood as I remember correctly, so he spoke with Thranduil there?

Anyway, if this is correct, I give the thread to Da Skorpion anyway, because he did most of the job.

Edit: Oh, I see her already answered. Goody then...

Celebriel Esgaledhel 03-24-2005 11:27 PM

Paging....

NF, ya going to confirm? I think the answers were correct - no use delaying any more... :smokin:

Da Skorpion 03-25-2005 02:51 AM

Beep Beep

Yeah, didn't want to nag about it, but yea

LOL! I didn't tell you that a few minutes before your post, eh ;) ;) ;)

Btw, the Witchking of Angmar isn't named either I think, its more a title.

Gil-Galad 03-25-2005 08:21 AM

Well i've heard himm being called Er-Murazor once and awhile...

Nilpaurion Felagund 03-25-2005 10:43 PM

Da Skorpion is correct.

Although the Elf-warrior, Marky Lazer, is Sam, not Legolas. ;)

Yours again, Da Skorpion. (It seems this thread is glowing orange. :D )

Da Skorpion 03-26-2005 03:29 AM

Gil-Galad: That's true but Tolkien never named the witch king and the other seven, instead they come from a series of rpg and tcg produced by Iron Crown Enterprises.

Big and strong,
joined in a battle of five headlong.
Black pelt everywhere,
but of men he is an heir.
Large gold buzzers around,
more yellow gold food than a bear can count.

Marky Lazer 03-26-2005 04:08 AM

This got to be Beorn, if not I'll eat my shoes. And yours too!

Da Skorpion 03-26-2005 04:10 AM

Correct. Twas an easy one:)

The thread be yours.

Marky Lazer 03-26-2005 04:14 AM

Thanx Skorpio!

Wicked hobbit, steals from me
Tricksy hobbit, makes me angry
False hobbit, a thief I see

Who is it about and who is saying it?
And please explain... It's not as easy as you'd expect, BTW.

Gil-Galad 03-26-2005 10:05 AM

Wicked hobbit, steals from me
-Gollum, talking about Bagginesss
Tricksy hobbit, makes me angry
-don't forget riddles in the downs, bilbo tricked gollum
False hobbit, a thief I see
-claims bilbo stole his b-day gift from him...

Da Skorpion 03-27-2005 06:57 AM

Marky told me that it wasn't correct (he's here atm), and I do not have a clue either.

Marky Lazer 03-30-2005 03:39 AM

Time for a hint?

Evisse the Blue 03-30-2005 07:43 AM

a shot in the dark

Bert the Troll?
Bilbo tried to steal from him to prove his abilities. Then he tried to trick him into thinking there was no one else around. And obviously made him angry. :p

If that's not correct, a hint would be most welcome I think. :)

Marky Lazer 03-30-2005 07:51 AM

Nice try, but not correct.

A hint then... It is about Frodo. Now, I only need to know who is saying it.

And it's NOT Gollum.

paavo 03-30-2005 09:55 AM

What about farmer maggot whose mushrooms Frodo stole in his younger days.
