Lord of Angmar 01-04-2004 11:01 AM

Yes, you do have to name the slayer, my mistake. Unfortunately, I cannot remember who his prophecized slayer would be, but I shall take a stab at it: Olorin?

nobody 01-04-2004 11:04 AM

Yes correct

Lord of Angmar 01-04-2004 11:08 AM

That was a nice question, nobody. Very tricksy.

Gil-Galad 01-04-2004 12:05 PM

fyi, he wasn't really killed, just made into a weaker spirit, since he was connected with the ring...

and when Numenore was destroyed, thats when sauron lost his first form and fled too mordor, so he was kinda killed then too, just made into a weaker spirit till his strength regained

It has already been agreed upon that Sauron never truly 'died' until he was slain in the Dagor Dagorath, and then for all intents and purposes he truly was 'dead.'

Nobody's been here for a while now, so I'll take it:

Who killed Curufinwë, and when?

Ruitha 01-30-2004 06:01 AM

Gothmog, during the Battle Under the Stars (Dagor-nuin-Giliath, the 2nd battle in the Wars of Beleriand), after he rode ahead of his army in pursuit of Orcs.

NightKnight 01-30-2004 06:05 AM

You're right, your turn.

Ruitha 01-30-2004 06:22 AM

Okay ... when, and by whom, was Nain son of Gror slain?

NightKnight 01-31-2004 05:14 AM

TA 2799 in the Battle of Azanulbizar, by Azog.

Ruitha 01-31-2004 06:20 AM

Great, go ahead.

NightKnight 02-01-2004 11:29 AM

Thank you.

By who and on what occasion was Elured killed?

Ruitha 02-01-2004 11:35 AM

Oooh, that's an evil one. He was lost during the assault on Doriath by the sons of Feanor; the servants of Celegorm seized him and his brother Elurin and left them to starve in the forest. Maedhros searched for them, but they were never found.
Is that okay?

NightKnight 02-02-2004 01:39 AM

Absolutely! Your turn.

Ruitha 02-02-2004 01:26 PM

Thanks.
By whom, and under what circumstances, was Uldor slain?

Mariska Greenleaf 02-02-2004 01:42 PM

Uldor the Accursed was slain by Maglor in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears.

Ruitha 02-03-2004 11:17 AM

That's fine, go for it.

Mariska Greenleaf 02-03-2004 01:56 PM

Thanks!

In what circumstances was Ostoher killed?

NightKnight 02-04-2004 02:26 PM

I assume you mean the king of Cardolan, in that case he was killed fighting against Angmar. The other Ostoher, king of Gondor, died of old age.

Mariska Greenleaf 02-05-2004 05:09 AM

I meant the one that was slain of course.
Your go!

NightKnight 02-07-2004 05:27 AM

How did Maedhros die?

Ruitha 02-07-2004 05:46 AM

He was under such torment due to holding a Silmaril, he cast himself into a fire-filled chasm in the earth.

NightKnight 02-07-2004 09:05 AM

Right-o! Your go!

Miriel 02-08-2004 01:47 PM

Um ... well, I'm Ruitha ... lost her password and only had entered my old email address ... so *shrugs* I can't prove it, so you'd maybe be best to do another, NightKnight, and give me a chance to get it under this name.

NightKnight 02-08-2004 03:04 PM

I believe you, but anyway, here's an easy one: How did Elenwe die?

Miriel 02-08-2004 03:09 PM

Lost in the crossing of Helcaraxë.

NightKnight 02-08-2004 03:41 PM

Yes, your turn. Again. :P

Miriel 02-10-2004 10:06 AM

*grins*
Thanks!
Okay ... how did Leod die?

Legolas 02-10-2004 02:40 PM

From Appendix A, II: House of Eorl:

Quote:

He captured a white foal and it grew quickly to a horse strong, and fair, and proud. No man could tame it. When Léod dared to mount it, it bore him away, and at last threw him, and Léod's head struck a rock, and so he died. He was then only two and forty years old, and his son a youth of sixteen.
I think everyone should note that this game is about characters who were *slain* - not those that simply died. They had to be killed by someone. Each new person states a character that was killed by another, and the answer will be the slayer and the location of the slaying, if given.

Miriel 02-11-2004 10:36 AM

Sorry.
Go ahead, Legolas. :)

Arvedui III 02-21-2004 03:47 PM

*Bump*

Umm...Legolas?

Gil-Galad 02-21-2004 08:41 PM

been more then ten days... my turn!!!

Name the two wielders of spears, and name one of their kills(choose one kill for one of he wielders)

NightKnight 02-22-2004 07:03 AM

Gil-galad and Beren used spears, and Beren killed the leader of the dwarves that had sacked Doriath.

Gil-Galad 02-22-2004 09:58 AM

i was going for Gil-Galad and Eomer, since Eomer killed the haradrim leader.. but i'll accept that, your go nightknight!

NightKnight 02-22-2004 01:30 PM

I'm tired, so here comes an easy one: Who killed Ecthelion?

Gil-Galad 02-22-2004 05:30 PM

Trogdor the Burninator

Gothmog!!!:smokin:

NightKnight 02-22-2004 06:00 PM

Gil-Galad 02-23-2004 08:22 AM

Name probaly the only elf that was beheaded for a greater cause

NightKnight 02-23-2004 09:45 AM

Gelmir.

Gil-Galad 02-23-2004 04:23 PM
