Votes are...

Sauron- 5
Celeborn- 3
Sam- 2
Frodo- 1
Gollum- 1
Grima- 1

Quote:

Blast! Though I still long to punish Grima, the bad taste of these types in voting for Celeborn, one of the most underrated Elves we see, leads me to vote for ++SAURON to protect him; although I like Sauron too...~Anguirel
My reason voting for Celeborn is based on his annoying voice. He just talks way too much.

Though I do agree with Sauce's Golden Rule, which may be why I'm voting for Sam next. Yes we all know he's loyal, got your back, won't betray anyone, but that makes him too strong of a contestant.

Plus all he does is start fights with Gollum who only feeds the whole tribe, by hunting and fishing.

Did Sauce put you up to that? Or TGWBS?!

...........

Aha!

No?

Good.

++Samwise for being evil, as explained by myself in the favourite hobbit thread.
Evil? I'll warrant you it wasn't Morm's and my arguing that caused people to vote about him on the favorite hobbit thread! It was his lack of evilness that made people pick him! (Maybe it was Bilbo's proneness to being wicked that causes you to like him so...)

I'll vote ++Grima. His love to Eowyn makes me sick.

-- Folwren

P.S. I only wish Bilbo were still around...

P.P.S Not so, actually. Just trying to drive it home with the short fellow.

WaynetheGoblin 09-14-2005 02:37 PM

Samwise is not evil he is bad at challengies so why vote him of.

arcticstorm 09-14-2005 02:54 PM

++celeborn

Anguirel 09-14-2005 02:57 PM

How typically Orcish. Senseless, meaningless assault on Elvish culture.

Galadrim! Allies of the Golden Wood! Defend the Lord Celeborn...

Boromir88 09-14-2005 03:09 PM

Voting is now done and it appears Celeborn just slips through, and Sauron's off, but I'll go through the votes...

Boromir88 09-14-2005 03:16 PM

Sauron- 5
Celeborn- 4
Sam- 2
Grima- 2
Frodo- 1
Gollum- 1

The tribe has spoken, Sauron is the Weakest Link (oops wrong show). The mysterious disappearances of the contestants rings come to an end and Sauron is catapulted back to Mordor.

The remainders are...

Hobbits
Bilbo
Frodo
Gollum
Lobelia Sackville-Baggins
Merry
Pippin
Sam

Men and Rohan Lady
Aragorn
Boromir
Denethor
Eomer
Eowyn
Faramir
Grima
Hama

Wizards
Alatar
Pallando
Radagast
Saruman

Dwarves
Gimli
Gloin

Elves
Celeborn
Cirdan
Elrond
Galadriel
Glorfindel
Thranduil

Others
Goldberry
Quickbeam
Treebeard

Badguys
MovieGothmog
Grishnakh
Ugluk

Hmm, continue with my Celeborn push. (I'm sorry Mith, I don't see how this guy's attractive, plus his voice. Even if I did find him semi-attractive his voice is a turnoff).

Or, do I hop on the Sam bandwagon? As I said earlier, he gets in fights with Gollum, which is not good for tribal unity.

Also, another point to bring against Sam, whilst he is true-hearted and loyal he does not look out for the tribe, he solely works for Frodo. Certainly unselfish of him but why can't he help the tribe the same way he does with Frodo? Atleast Gollum is out and about finding food for everyone. And Sam doesn't even have the decency to give him credit.

Glirdan 09-14-2005 03:28 PM

I think I'm going to hop on the Celeborn bandwagon. Not only is his voice annoying, but the only thing is "Tell me where is Gandalf for I much desire to speak with him." You would think, seeing as he is from the Eldar days and him being married to Galadriel and all, would have given him more intelligence. WRONGO!!! How can he forget that he voted Gandalf off a few days back!?!?

++Celeborn

He has to go.

Kitanna 09-14-2005 03:47 PM

Once again...

++ Aragorn

This is also an attempt to save Lord Celeborn.

mormegil 09-14-2005 03:47 PM

Oh you cruel nasty man. Haven't you seen him cooking and cleaning for the tribe? Without Sam everything would fall apart. We need somebody on the tribe who appeals to our sensitive side and Sam is our man.

Now I think I will be voting for Celeborn he doesn't respect Sam enough, though I wish I could vote TGWBS and SpM in this matter.

++Celeborn

Firefoot 09-14-2005 04:06 PM

++Thranduil

Since this is LotR Survivor, so what's he got to do with anything anyway?

WaynetheGoblin 09-14-2005 04:41 PM

++Aragorn back a few days ago and you will see my reason why

Gil-Galad 09-14-2005 04:42 PM

++Sam

Nuff said

:smokin: :smokin:

WaynetheGoblin 09-14-2005 04:45 PM

Not sam but aragorn should be the one to go.

The Saucepan Man 09-14-2005 05:19 PM

This is getting a bit boring but ...

++SAMWISE GAMGEE

He's trying to get the audience on his side with his faux country accent, his apparent working class credentials and his so-called "earthy" wisdom and humour. But it won't wash with me. I can see right through him. It's clear now that he latched onto Frodo right at the outset just to make everyone think he was a genuine, nice, loyal, "salt of the earth" kind of fellow. But he's not. He's a fake. He's playing to the audience and you're all falling for it.

Anguirel 09-15-2005 12:27 AM

Boro, you're allowing yourself to be manipulated by the films!

See this link, everyone, for a splendid defence of Book-Celeborn; an essay called "That Tall Fellow Next To Galadriel"...

http://henneth-annun.net/stories/cha...72&SPOrdinal=1

Celeborn isn't just a quiet Elf, and he certainly isn't Martin Csokas. Please stop bullying him. He's got a mind of his own. He's married to Galadriel but still isn't entirely happy. He's interesting, an intellectual, a pragmatist, and a general who saved Lorien more than once. Vote for him and you show your own bad taste.

I'm going to save my own vote for now, and see how things go. But if you chuck out Celeborn, there'll be trouble...

the guy who be short 09-15-2005 03:10 AM

++Samwise

Far too simple too help about the island - the little intellect he has is dedicated to furthering his evil schemes.

Anguirel 09-15-2005 04:44 AM

Another pro-Celeborn tract-

http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/tolkien/96308

Emjoy! And don't you dare vote for Celeborn!

WaynetheGoblin 09-15-2005 05:52 AM

I say right now to stop voting for poor sam. Who ever wants to join me please tell me and the more people that join the more chanch of sam staying.

The Saucepan Man 09-15-2005 06:45 AM

Oh, don't be taken in by old lovely dovely book Sam.

Who did Frodo entrust his account of the War of the Ring to? And so who had final editorial control over it? Yes, that's right. Sam and his family. So it's hardly likely to be an unbiased portrayal of him, is it? No doubt he heavily edited it to make himself look all humble and loyal and heroic.

The guy's a fake. Get rid of him now!

Anguirel 09-15-2005 06:50 AM

Lament for Celeborn

Saucepan Man, could you do me a great favour and post a link to your tremendous Lament for Celeborn here?

If you do I'll vote for the irritating Sam...always thought he was a bit of a parvenu.

.

I didn't expect you to find him attractive ;).. not the cutest elf boy certainly but I think I argued elsewhere that he must have something about him to win Galadriel... he is a Teleri so he will sing well..but he lives in Lorien so he can't be a yottie (hurrah). And silver hair can be very, very attractive..............

mormegil 09-15-2005 07:13 AM

Without Sam there would be no Frodo or for that matter no Middle-earth :rolleyes: . I voted Celeborn to hopefully save Sam but I really want to get rid of Frodo. Take about a waste of space. Most hobbits are gainfully employed. What does Frodo do? Moves in with his senile relation Bilbo and leeches all his money from him. He's given a simple task (taking the ring to a nearby mountain) and he can't even succeed at that. It isn't any wonder that he's failing at all of the challenges. I say today that Celeborn who isn't content with anything

Quote:

He's married to Galadriel but still isn't entirely happy.
Come on, where's his sense of family and loyalty? What, one of the greatest women of Middle-earth isn't good enough for this snivelling little prat? I say out of this camp and make Frodo and him go find a job. I hear the Gap of Rohan is currently hiring.

All the image links had broken again, so I had to mend them. :rolleyes:

Anguirel 09-15-2005 09:47 AM

Excellent!

arcticstorm 09-15-2005 11:19 AM

++samwise

Folwren 09-15-2005 11:26 AM

*jumps around, pulling hair out*

No, no, NO! You fools! The island will go to wreck and ruin if Sam is gotten rid of! Who'll do your cooking for everyone? Who'll keep things nice and tidy, and make sure no one forgets the important stuff on the hikes? The chap who really needs to go is not Sam, nor Frodo, nor Aragorn, but Bilbo Baggins! That flippant liar who'll do anything to keep what's not rightfully his. You think Sam was so awful in picking some little petty fights with Gollum, consider what Bilbo did to him!!

Wayne, thank goodness you're with Morm and I. If Samwise is kicked off this island, I think we should lead a rampage to get Bilbo out of here.

My vote....

++Celeborn

Merely because he's the person with the next many votes to Sam. Sorry, those who like him. I have no particular dislike.

- Folwren

Celuien 09-15-2005 12:00 PM

++Samwise

A stack of documents from Sam's mayoral years was recently uncovered, which irrefutably prove Anguirel's shocking allegations. It seems that Sam used his position as Mayor to keep all pipeweed, fish and chips, chocolate cupcakes, and other tasty delights for himself and his large family.

Furthermore, Sam admitted in his diary that he plotted to seize the throne of Gondor for himself. Why else would he send Elanor out as a maid for Arwen? She was a spy sent to gather information and foment rebellion against the King while increasing the visibility of the Gamgee family for the Gondorian public.

Finally, the whole business of Sam's changing his family name to Gardner is suspicious. What was the need for an alias other than an attempt to hide his past? Additional investigations reveal that Sam used many other names, including "Sam the Snake" and "Sticky Fingers Samwise" during his years in the Shire's criminal underworld. There's no need for such an unsavory character here. It's time for Sam to go home.

Boromir88 09-15-2005 01:05 PM

I'd have to say Anguirel and Mith have done an excellent job convincing me not to vote for Celeborn.

So, like I said, it would either be Celeborn or Sam...

++Sam

Votes so far go...

Sam- 7
Celeborn- 3
Aragorn- 2
Thranduil- 1

mormegil 09-15-2005 02:37 PM

What a nefarious bunch we are when we will kick out the most honest and sincere hobbit ever to grace Middle-earth. This is awful! :mad:

Anguirel 09-15-2005 02:42 PM

Awful, yes, hee hee hee, tragic, ho ho ho, what vile slanderers we are, ha ha ha!

That's what you get for picking a fight with the Lord of Lorien...

Quite agree mom. I can't believe you want to get rid of an innocent little person. If anybody should go, it should be Celeborn. I'm furious to know Sam is going home!!!! :mad:

wilwarin538 09-15-2005 02:46 PM

Yeah well to bad! :D

++Sam

:p

Boromir88 09-15-2005 03:08 PM

That wraps things up. I don't have to go through who lost, we all know it was Sam. And by a blowout. The Tribe's (excluding Frodo) last words while Sam exitted the Island were..." you go eat your nasty chips."

The remaining players are...

Hobbits
Bilbo
Frodo
Gollum
Lobelia Sackville-Baggins
Merry
Pippin

Men and Rohan Lady
Aragorn
Boromir
Denethor
Eomer
Eowyn
Faramir

Elves
Celeborn
Cirdan
Elrond

Others
Goldberry
Quickbeam

Badguys
MovieGothmog

Glirdan 09-15-2005 03:12 PM

I'm gonna stick with my previous vote.

++Celeborn

he needs to go.

Folwren 09-15-2005 03:27 PM

How infuriating. What is the world coming to? Samwise Gamgee...best of all mortals and immortals on Middle-Earth put together. Wisdom enough to keep anyone alive, so much honestly that I bet you as a kid he didn't lie even to get himself out of trouble, and so much love and kindess that he couldn't bear to kill the vilest creature on earth. Well, we'll see...we'll see.

I think we should excuse Bilbo from this game and send him packing. If we're allowed to start voting again, then here's mine.

++Bilbo

If I have my way, Short Guy, your little hobbit friend (who might be good enough to be the main hobbit for The Hobbit, but not good enough for the LotR, by the way) will be leaving very soon.

And Saucey....I'd like to know who you like best. :D <--(wicked grin)

-- Folwren

mormegil 09-15-2005 04:14 PM

A complete and total spite-vote

++Celeborn

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 04:24 PM

alright... now...

++Bilbo

death to hobbits?

arcticstorm 09-15-2005 04:28 PM

Now that Tom is gone, Goldberry just goes off after lilies herself, she is not helping anyone at all, and she really has been more of a liability than an asset

++Goldberry

Boromir88 09-15-2005 04:33 PM

Bilbo to me reminds me of the old guy from the first survivor. Yes, I forget his name. Survivor fans help me.

Point in, I was sad when I saw the old guy go and even more disturbed when Richard Hatch won. So, I just can't vote for Bilbo.
