Narduewen 09-21-2003 08:02 PM

Galadriel said that to Frodo sfter he looked in the mirror.

Dondagnirion 09-24-2003 12:16 PM

I do know if it will matter wether or not I elaborate, and I truly dont care if it does, just wanted to so here goes....

It was Galadriel to frodo about him seeing the scenes of the destruction of the shire which would occur if he failed and the scenes "also in her mind".

Dondagnirion
"Will shall be the sterner, heart the bolder, spirit the greater as our strength lessens."

Faye Took 09-24-2003 08:13 PM

Narduewen got it. Your turn

The Only Real Estel 10-03-2003 03:07 PM

The 10 day deadline is done at 12:01 Sunday morning, if a new quote hasn't been given by then by Narduewen, then anyone can ask one (I might).

The Saucepan Man 10-03-2003 10:02 PM

On reflection, I'm not sure that there's any need for this thread, given that we already have a Movie Quotes thread. So this one's closed.

Of course, it should be "film" quotes anyway ...

The Saucepan Man 10-12-2003 05:59 PM

Re-opened following an impassioned plea from The Only Real Estel.

To recap, quotes must be from the FotR film only. And please try to make them challenging (although that doesn't mean posting one or two word quotes or exclamations which could have a number of answers).

The topic is open to anyone to post the next quote ...

Arwen Eruantale 10-13-2003 11:45 AM

Thanks to both The Unquenchable Only Real Estel (for his 'impassioned plea'), and to you, Saucepan Man, for being cool enough to care.

Alright, here goes:

Quote:

And proud of it.
Shouldn't be too hard... good luck!

Goldberry 10-13-2003 02:36 PM

Thag you very buch, Estel and Saucepan Man!

I think that's from the extended clip in the inn, when Gaffer Gamgee says Frodo is cracking. Then Frodo says, "And proud of it!" (which he should be )

Arwen Eruantale 10-17-2003 12:29 PM

That's it, Goldberry! Go ahead...

Goldberry 10-20-2003 04:55 PM

Thanks, Arwen. Alright then:

Quote:

Let them come!
And no, I haven't forgotten that this is Fotr, not TTT.

lothiriel 10-21-2003 04:53 AM

That is Gimli in Moria, when the Orcs come.

The full quote is:
"Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria that still draws breath."

Arwen Eruantale 10-21-2003 12:37 PM

I thought it was "...still draws blood.". Oh well.
In any case I think she got it right, Goldberry.

Goldberry 10-21-2003 02:05 PM

Yup, she got it right! Your turn, Lothíriel.

lothiriel 10-23-2003 07:31 AM

Thanks, Goldberry!

Ok, here's the next quote:

"He's up to something."

Sleepy Ranger 10-23-2003 09:24 AM

Can I join in?
He's up to something.
Frodo to Gandalf commenting on Bilbo.

P.S- And thats a well played century.

Anyway, welcome to the game, Sleepy Ranger! But be careful, it can be quite addictive..

lothiriel 10-24-2003 10:23 AM

You're correct, Sleepy Ranger! Your turn!

Sleepy Ranger 10-24-2003 02:19 PM

Right on.
Your turn. I think I'm gonna like it here as long as we don't run outta quotes.

Arwen Eruantale 10-24-2003 04:23 PM

I'm glad you like it, Master Ranger. *bows*

Well, here you go:

Quote:

Which I know they're not.
Good luck!

The Only Real Estel 10-24-2003 05:40 PM

Gimli to Gandalf about Caradhas? (at the scene of the sword-fencing/wrestling )

Welcome to the game, Sleepy Ranger, & I'm glad you like it!

Arwen Eruantale 11-04-2003 03:04 PM

Perfect, Only Real Estel! Your turn..

The Only Real Estel 11-04-2003 09:54 PM

Thanks, Arwen. Here's mine:

Quote:

"We should never have come."
Who to whom & where?

Sleepy Ranger 11-05-2003 06:23 AM

Boromir to the fellowship?
In Moria I guess.

Arwen Eruantale 11-05-2003 09:49 AM

It was Boromir, to everyone, just as they entered Moria, and found it "a tomb".

Full quote is:
Quote:

We make for the Gap of Rohan. We should never have come here!

The Only Real Estel 11-07-2003 03:15 PM

Yep, Sleepy Ranger got it. I couldn't think of anything too hard at the moment, & Saucepan Man gave me orders not to be to vauge (however it's spelled) on the quotes . Go ahead, SRanger!

Sleepy Ranger 11-07-2003 03:26 PM

Quote:

SRanger!
I prefer Sleepy
Anyway next one-
Quote:

No, not at all

The Only Real Estel 11-07-2003 10:33 PM

Gandalf to Bilbo in Bad End?

Quote:

I prefer Sleepy
Sorry I was in a rush & had need for substitutes .

Sleepy Ranger 11-08-2003 05:16 AM

Quote:

Now, Now let us not be hasty.

Yes Only Real Estel it was Gandalf to Bilbo, Bilbo, Bilbo Baggins bravest little Hobbit of 'em all.

The Only Real Estel 11-08-2003 04:40 PM

Quote:

"You've been productive."

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 11-08-2003 05:43 PM

That was Bilbo, to Mrs. Bracegirdle about her umpteen children.

The Only Real Estel 11-08-2003 08:24 PM

That's correct, Horse Maiden, go ahead!

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 11-09-2003 12:06 PM

Quote:

Well, that's nice! Ash on my tomatoes!

Sleepy Ranger 11-09-2003 12:45 PM

um, Merry to Frodo?
or Pippin to Frodo?

lothiriel 11-10-2003 06:26 AM

I think it's Merry to Frodo at Weathertop.

ElentariGreenleaf 11-10-2003 02:47 PM

Definatly Pippin to Frodo at weathertop. I love that quote! Great to get the accent right.

The Only Real Estel 11-20-2003 08:57 PM

It's been 11 days, so instead of posting my own quote, I'll act in the place of HorseMaiden & award the quote to Sleepy Ranger. I do believe it was Pippin to Frodo (the accent is pretty much unmistakable). Go ahead , Sleepy Ranger!

P.S. Btw, Sleepy Ranger, try to keep your posts to one guess each . Thanks!

Thats Sleepy.

Goldberry 11-21-2003 08:14 PM

That would be Aragorn to Gimli when they are resting on Parth Galen (is it still that in the movie?) Anyway, it's Aragorn. And Gimli also says it after, in a mocking kind of way.
