Got to go to work in the morning so I can't do the whole midnight posting thing I usually do, so here's yer news. Folks.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ah/Week160.png John Fillis isn't having too great a time at the moment. Shouldn't we send him a get well soon card? http://www.freewebs.com/joelcornah/Episode%20031.png It seems that a 'Get Showered Soon' card might be more appropriate. Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the... It's fun, educational and leprosy inducing. Isn't that what every child wants for Christmas this year? Incidentally, those of you following John Fillis' story will probably recall THIS episode. Sorry John, but I'm afraid that 'the worst that could happen' is still to come. ;) |
I confess to not having followed the comics closely up to now, but that really is a nice 'miasma' effect in the first panel.
|
Haha! As good as ever, Hooky! I especially like the "One hundred million" on page 10 million.

Oh, and the reason that Lauri was doing that is because she actually did ingest that mushroom! She was high, I tell you, high!:p |
Oh the things I do get up to when I forget to pay my sanity bill! If it were not for your reporting Hookbill I would never know what I did half the time.

or maybe it's just named Cheese? (I know of a certain alien who was named Beef once upon a time) |

Now comes the moment to reveal Alien's father!!
Take a deep breath. Look out for flying poop. http://www.freewebs.com/joelcornah/Episode%20032.png Come on! Alien's father is cool! Admit it! Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the... Pretty soon we'll be heading into a flashback WITHIN a flasback. I've always wanted to do that. :) |
You're blowing smoke in my eyes Hookbill, really?
Hrmmm. I think I'll pass on asking the obvious questions about how you end up with Alien out of those chromosomes...;) ~ Ka |
So........Alien is the missing link??? Haha.
Love it! :D |

I'm surprised no one has commented on the leaking graph in the background. :D
Some of you may know the story of my original plan for P&A. My first idea was for it to be "The Phantom and Gorilla" but I soon discovered that I couldn't draw a gorilla. So, instead, I made a crude slime creature and called him 'Alien'. But I wanted to make a little homage to the duo that never was. Maybe one day we will see 'The Phantom and Gorilla'. Who knows. Yeah, basically, that's why Alien's father is a gorilla. But they have the same bow-tie! That counts, right? :p |

I see now that the puddle of (what liquid is it? blood? beef juice?) whatever is growing larger and larger. |

Well, I saw the leaking graph in the background the first time I saw it!
|
Don't forget the spontaneous combustion of the bus picture! I really DO adore all those background details. They make re-reading P&A so much fun! No more steaks lying around though, it's just so sad. :(
|
Once again I'm forced to do a bit of early posting. Sorry about that.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ah/Week161.png Now, lets get back to Alien, Formy and the Soap Pope. I wonder what kind of craziness 'Old Woman of the Sea' can think up next... http://www.freewebs.com/joelcornah/Episode%20033.png Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the... On Thursday, John Fillis' mutation reaches dangerous new levels of strangeness. And by 'dangerous' I, of course, mean FOR OTHER PEOPLE. Oh, and the adorably baby Alien will be showing up pretty soon in a flashback starting next week. So look forward to that, all of you. ;) |

Mormegil's Roy Orbison impersonation is not much better than mine
|
I should have forseen something like this coming.
Oh well, not as bad as I was anticipating. Nice stuff Hook. ;) |
Sorry, Boro. Friending me on Facebook when you have an amusing picture uploaded there almost guarantees your appearance in the media. ;)
|
I've added a downloads page to the P&A website. I'll improve it over the next few days with more backgrounds and icons and stuff. But for now, here's a preview of the sort of stuff to expect...
http://i33.tinypic.com/hrbuw9.png (A bigger version is on the website) :D I'll do most of the work tomorrow, so come back then to see the stuff. Hope some of you like it. Josh (my brother who does the art work now) really enjoyed doing that picture. Hope you do to. :) |
The Burning the Evidence one is now my desktop background. My parents didn't get it...
|
Despite the lack of Oxon Downer this year, I'm thinking of getting a special P&A poster type thing made. I'm heading into town tomorrow to possibly get some printed by this place that does nice printings and stuff... yes.
If you're at Oxonmoot, I'll happily give you one. Any I have left over I'll... I don't know... keep as prizes for a P&A related competition of some sort. How about that? :) |
It's Phalian time again!
John Fillis' mutation is getting out of hand once again. I think he's lost his apatite... maybe... http://www.freewebs.com/joelcornah/Episode%20034.png Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the... Come back on Monday for the further discussion between Peter and Miss Collins. There may be a flashback!! Will we find out why Alien was sent to Formy's Soapy Church? Probably not. ;) |
Fillis reminded me of the weird girl-eating horse in Brothers Grimm, which I watched as a kid, and gave me nightmares
|
The bit with Alien thrown in at the end was nice. Does he know what is going on with John Fillis? Is there a psychic connexion? Is Alien related to an Ood?:p
|
Oh wonderful. Now I have another creature to add to my list of rational fears! (Yes, fearing John Fillis IS rational!)
|
After having to spend all last afternoon in the uni reptile museum, Mr. Fillis' jaw reminds me of a snake... A lot.
|
An early Downer because I'm more tired than a sloth after staying up all night. Thank you, Oxonmoot.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ah/Week162.png And now we head towards some explanations. The upcoming flashback should make this story much less confusing. :) http://www.freewebs.com/joelcornah/Episode%20035.png Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the... PHANTOM AND ALIEN COMIC ARCHIVE THING! I've also updated the character pages for The Phantom and Alien to include some of their Volume Three back story. Hope it helps you see it all in a new, if strange, light. I'll try and update the other characters as I go along. |
Oooh! And I guess that the next P and A with Peter in it is going to go through the flash back! Lovely!:D
|
Oh Soap! I forgot to thank Formy for his article this week! Sorry about that. :( Moot times appear to have melted my brain a little.
Everyone give Formy some rep for being funny this week. :) |

Exactly the sort of thing that might turn up in a rag like The Downer, in fact. So, really, one shouldn't be so absurd! |
Random Titles feel their brains turn to mush.
Loved, loved, loved P & A this week. "When your father owned this company...I hated him!" I didn't expect it at all. And the lines just before the flashback, hilarious.
|
Wow, Boro, first the Llama and now a Bear, :p.
"Notoriously Canadian" that's too funny!!! Loved how tiny Phantom looks compared to Miss Collins, haha. |
I think my favorite bit is the outrageous inflation of the reward after discovering the true rumor. :p

Although I am happy to see Edward the Confessor appearing in the newspaper, I did expect him to take up more space.
"Did you know that Edward the Confessor build Geneva airport entirely out of jam?" |
