Himelilek may be a crazy, demented elf but she does know to pack for all kinds of emergencies as elves do.
Ozracles isn't the kind to forgive and forget, ever. He's off to hunt some horse thieves.

Warning: Imminent bloodshed and graphic violence in next RPG post.

Susan Delgado 09-22-2002 04:25 AM

Quote:

Thorondruin looked over at Carathon, who gulped hard and looked away. He’d rather have Livia ride behind him, but Ozracles might as well throw the boy off his horse and take it all for himself. But if he placed the girl with Carathon, they may just run away, Thorondruin thought for a while. He surely did not want to have Ozracles sitting behind him.
The obvious answer, of course, is for Himelilek to carry Carathon, but I guess it doesn't matter now

The wind flows in the air,
Like the fire on the hearth,
Like the water in the streams,
Like the stones in the earth,
Like the laughter in my heart,
Like the love I feel for you.

I read the page,
It shows me the world,
It gives me an empire,
I listen to its music,
I taste all its colors,
It allows me to fly.

We stand on the shore,
Always together,
Though 1000 miles separates us.
But by the will of our people,
None of it matters.
We are together.

late-night doggeral, and it kinda falls apart at the end, but, hey, it's mine

Cimmerian 09-23-2002 02:03 AM

Well, to Ozracles, Thor is a big dummy and vice versa.

Hey, nice limerick? Heh heh!

What happened to the others, Susan? It's been just you and me since last friday.

Susan Delgado 09-23-2002 02:10 AM

Well, yes, that's true. There's a serious lack of respect going on here

Well, thanks
Although it's not a limerick...a limerick would be:

There once was a man from Nantucket.
Whose head was made of a bucket.
His wife had a wish,
For some very nice fish,
And she grabbed his bucket and tucket!
(hey! I wrote this one too! )

Well, I know Belin's really busy with school, but I don't know about the others.

I completely forgot about that knife she had hidden...grr. I guess it's better that way, because Thor never knew about it. He certainly knows now! Fool girl. I loved the "help me, kind sirs!" geez, what an idiot

Cimmerian 09-24-2002 06:43 AM

I wrote Carathon as the one who picked up Ozracles lost knife. Or was there a sequence where Livia took someone else's knife. Hm, do I have to read from page one all over again?

Susan Delgado 09-24-2002 08:31 AM

Livia swiped a knife and hid it in her sleeve before they left the inn.

Susan Delgado 09-24-2002 09:01 AM

Much better, Pheonix. Thank you. I deleted my post in the game thread.

If you're confused, ask someone; I'm happy to help and everyone else it too, right guys?

Oz and Himel are waiting for Thor's answer and the next phase of their plan.

Susan Delgado 09-29-2002 03:21 PM

I have headed off Tangerine's attempt to rejoin us. We're getting on quite well without her and her cohorts.

Cimmerian 09-30-2002 04:30 AM

Thank you, Susan. This game does not need to go down that road again.

When are we gearing up for the great theft?

Susan Delgado 10-04-2002 10:03 AM

I'll post this afternoon; I don't have time right now

Kettle of fish 10-05-2002 01:04 AM

Jolly good. That will bring us from the evil depths of the second page.

Susan Delgado 10-07-2002 04:07 AM

curses!

Childlike Empress 10-09-2002 11:03 PM

I've been watching this rpg for a couple weeks now and it looks interesting, though quiet. Can I join it?

Sure you can. Welcome aboard

Childlike Empress 10-10-2002 11:05 PM

Ok, but what do I do? should I come up with a cahracter or do you give me one? I thought you'd tell me or I'd of asked before.

Susan Delgado 10-10-2002 11:17 PM

Sorry, I was in a hurry. Why don't you come up with your own character and post its bio here so we can all see it.

Susan Delgado 10-10-2002 11:18 PM

Childlike Empress 10-10-2002 11:24 PM

Oh, alright. I'll think about it.

ok, I came up wiyth one.

name: Lenilos
race: Elf
gender/age/appearance: male/elf, so it doesn't matter/on the short side, like everyone else in his family, dark hair, blue eyes
origin: the farm that everyone just escaped from
He's the brother of the elf that just ran away with the thieves and he's chasing after them in secret so he can get his sister back.

Is this ok?

Cimmerian 10-11-2002 08:55 AM

Hm...yeawn... yeah, it's fine, Childlike. Another skull to crack is always welcome.

Susan, it's been more than a week... post already.

Childlike Empress 10-11-2002 11:36 AM

"yeawn" "skull cracking"? Am I doomed here?

Susan Delgado 10-11-2002 12:51 PM

Ya, you might want to change into something a little less attractive to the barbarians in our midst

I'm trying, Cim....

Belin 10-11-2002 08:33 PM

I think a LOT of people are doomed here as far as Ozracles is concerned. Then again, he seems to have taken more damage than almost any other character so far, soo.. . Then again, of course, neither of my characters is sensible enough to be afraid of him.

Nice to see you, Childlike Empress! I think you have a great idea for a character (then again, I'm the one that's been pushing for Green-Elven pursuit since the beginning of the game), but I'd like to hear more about him. What's he like? And why does he choose to go in secret when he could probably raise a little posse if he wanted (aside, of course, from the fact that we've nobody to play them ) ?

Clarification for the more vehement anti-superpowerites among us.. Hithduiniel is not really communicating with the horse in a truly telepathic way, just noticing it with her more intense kind of elfly noticing. And then again, we don't really know how much of this is her own projection either. She's a little like egoist me in that you can generally assume that most of what she says or thinks can be traced back ultimately to an idea about herself.

I'll post as Remdil as soon as I can. Apologies for my long absence.

Childlike Empress 10-12-2002 07:21 PM

I guess I thought it would be interesting drama to have him follow in secret instead of make himself known. Or maybe he thinks (rightly, from what everyone seems to be saying) he'll be killed if he shows himself?

Belin 10-12-2002 11:08 PM

Well, naturally he wouldn't show himself to the brigands, that would be silly. I was wondering why he didn't gather up a band of doughty laiquendi to come with him. Or did you mean that he thought his band would be seen? That makes sense (I'll get it eventually, really ).

Anyway, it would be nice if you'd post a little personality description. After that, feel free to jump in.

--Belin Ibaimendi

Childlike Empress 10-13-2002 12:46 AM

Yes, that's what I meant. It's much harder for a group to hide than an individual. Especially with Elves around. Also, he didn't think of it before he ran off.

A personality? I guess i didn't think of that. Obviously he's impulsive, he ran away without thinking of the consequences or telling anyone he was going. Not really a "look before you leap" sort of person. This pretty much describes his whole outlook. It's kind of a stupid way for an immortal being to behave, but what the heck

Childlike Empress 10-13-2002 12:52 AM

Are they travelling on a treeless plain? That would make it much more difficult to sneak around.

Susan Delgado 10-13-2002 10:31 AM

He's only impulsive? There must be other facets to his personality than just that.

I thought we were going through a forest. Although
"The huge empty treeless expanse of the plain stretched out before her"
certainly makes it look like a plain, doesn't it? Well, I'm willing to go with it.

Belin 10-13-2002 01:17 PM

Erhm, ahem, apologies, that was based on some idea of mine about her difficulties in transitioning... I wasn't very clear really about where we were riding but I had had this earlier idea that they might want to get out of the forest and away from elven pursuit.. anyway, yes, that was rather silly of me and I can change it.

--Belin Ibaimendi

Susan Delgado 10-13-2002 01:21 PM

So we are travelling through a forest? Your capacity to confuse always amazes me...

Susan Delgado 10-13-2002 07:35 PM

I'd like to direct everyone's attention to this thread. We have been recognised.

Childlike Empress 10-13-2002 11:40 PM

Ok, if we're going on a plain, my idea to sneak around won't work, they'd see him. I'll give it some more thought, or maybe just let my fingers do the talking and see what comes. Sort of like-what's it called? sponteneous writing, or automatic writing, or something.

Childlike Empress 10-14-2002 12:05 AM

How's that?

Belin 10-14-2002 12:22 AM

Wow, I think I deserve a prize for "most confusing person on the Barrow-Downs." Some clarification. Hithduiniel and Lenilos, being Laiquendi, are of course starting from Ossiriand. I concieved of them as living near a rather obscure edge of the forest. The brigands are somewhat lost but know, I think, that they want a completely different part of Ossiriand, the one where they expect to find Beren and Luthien (and good luck to them, heh). My understanding was that they would get out of the forest as quickly as possible, since they realize that it's occupied by a lot of people who aren't likely think much of them and might well raise an alarm (or an army). So they wanted (in my idea that I somehow imagined that everyone was sharing with me) wanted to skirt the edges until they came close to where they wanted to be. This will be difficult, of course, since they don't know where that may be.. I guess they could try asking Hithduiniel if they're desperate.

Please note, also, that "treeless" is a relative term; even the sparser edges of the forest begin to look a little like a savannah when you're a Green Elf.

Not a bad introduction, Childlike Empress. He seems very young, but that's quite suitable, since Hithduiniel's unusual point of view is an important part of her character and I don't see why it shouldn't be part of her brother's as well, and he definitely comes off as a brother of hers!

Before attempting to steal any horses, though, I'd advise you to consider the fate of the previous group of horse thieves....

--Belin Ibaimendi

Cimmerian 10-15-2002 08:49 AM

Horse thieves?
Just point the way... heh heh!

Susan Delgado 10-15-2002 06:56 PM

Cim, you wouldn't kill of our newest player less than a week after she joined, would you? How uncivilised

Cimmerian 10-20-2002 10:57 PM

Exactly, Susan!

I'll be posting in a week.

Rosseiliantiel 10-21-2002 03:25 PM
