Now there was a campy movie

However, one can never go wrong with singing muppets, I mean how could you?

...well...there was that space fiasco....

Gonzo is Gonzo is Gonzo..that's it...no more story..I'm sorry...

Long live Muppets and Pirates!

but again, I digress

Anyone in the Weapon Storage Room with Crystwen

Please do not tell Crystwen that we are in the mountain to find the Wanaparma yet! If you tell her, she certainly would do everything in her power to keep us from the book. So, go ahead and lie to her.

Aylwen

P.S. Thanks for the link, DayVampyre!

Aylwen, are Jadae and Arethin in the room with Crystwen?

Yes, Jadae and Arethin are in the weaponroom with Crystwen, Jack, and Anuion.

Yush Aylwen Dreamsong really said that.
I'm I popped out the truth. Lies are bad. Do you want Crystewen to respond to this or should I edit?

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-11-2003 02:13 PM

Fine, I guess it's ok that you told her. But could you edit something? Or add??

Quote:

"Surely the immortals in here have been able to learn the curings by heart considering that you can't get a lot of different deceases inside a cave. You have had a lot of time to learn a book that would have taken a lot of elves only a few years to master completely."
Technically, diseases can spread quickly throughout an enclosed space. It's like how people say, "there's a bug going around." Since the Elves of the caves (the Ti'Lavan, by the way) are in such close quarters, any communicable diseases can be easily spread throughout the cave. I think...but I'm no doctor. Also, the book isn't just a medical-type book, it also holds the customs and the histories of the Ti'Lavan. So it's not just that they can give away the book because they have memorized the contents of the medical items within it, but they also have to consider that the history of their kind are stored in the book.

So, can you edit a little bit, Helka?

Aylwen

So whats the plan to happen next Aylwen?

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-13-2003 05:14 PM

Sorry for forgetting this thread for a few days. It's been really busy. Anyways, I was hoping for DayVampyre to post, but since she isn't, I'll edit my last post to have us leave (whether Crystwen is in the way or not) the weapons room and return to the common room.

Then, the group will go find Angalos, since after waiting for a while in the common room they will decide to go to his rescue . We'll find Angalos, probably run into Ransom's character Llu, and then I'll post with us actually getting to the book (finally!). Once we get there though doesn't mean it's over . What happens after that I'll get to later.

Aylwen.

EDIT- I told ya'll those candles would be useful sooner or later!

Wow just read my post back it sucks *** , well it is nearly 1am, i'll edit it tomorrow morning- sorry bout that!

Ithaeliel 04-13-2003 07:17 PM

I'm.... BACK! And raring to go! Just tell me what to do next; I'm anxious to post after so long.

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-13-2003 07:27 PM

Yay! Ith is back after her long absence! SHE'S ALIVE!

Ith, since Angalos failed to show up in the Common Room (which was mentioned in Mattius' last post but I'm sure will be edited once he gets some sleepy time!), his buddies are going to go look for him. What I had planned for Angalos was for him to get locked in one of the kitchen pantries by Ransom's Lluniach (that's still his name, right, Ransom? You haven't posted a bio so I'm getting that from memory ). But you really have to watch out for spiders... .

So, next person to post for Ari, Jack, Anuion, and Jadae (and I'm hoping that person is Helka, since he's only on once or twice a week now) will follow the path Angalos took originally...which was into the library. Let us take a look at the library, then I'll see what goes on next.

Then we'll see to getting into the chamber with the Wanaparma. What do ya'll think?

Aylwen.

Can ya'll be patient while I paint some eater eggs and get a post written about the outcome of this?

DayVampyre 04-19-2003 06:50 PM

So I'll take over while she's gone...

How about those red Easter eggs? I think they taste better than the green ones. But I have a soft spot for the blues

And whats the deal with the Easter bunny?

Whose idea was it to give eggs to an animal that hops?
GIMME THE EGGS!! GIMMIE THE EGGS!!!

Thats why they hard boil them and put them in a basket of grass

DayV, could you please edit your post and leave out the magical transportation thing? The stone giant was 'out there' enough, but I don't think it's plausable to transport a group in that way in Middle-Earth.

'Kay I scraped the whole 'shabang'

However, are the any probs. with the poison arrows? and am I spelling 'poison' right?

One more question...do the elves now about the Book?

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-20-2003 01:42 PM

Sí! Sí! The elves know about the book, they know where/what it is. They just don't want to tell because it is so valuable to them (plus they aren't sure what'll happen if it gets into the wrong hands...)!

Where *has* everyone gone?

Ith will hopefully posts when she is done with a choir competition, but until then, we really need to get moving. We need to:

1) Get into the kitchen
2) Save poor Angalos & meet Lluniach
3) Go back to the common room

After that, I need to talk to Orual about after that. It involves her character. So can someone post to bring us into the Kitchen? As long as anyone is alive out there?

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-27-2003 04:19 PM

Awww Helka!

Please, please do not split up the group. Why would they agree to let the two of you go when they're out to find the book as well?

Also, does Anuion have some sort of magic power that lets him see into other people's thoughts or something? As the reader/writer, you might read things that are secrets, or something else that people don't actually know about (ie, other character's thoughts/feelings). Just remember that your character does not know everything that you know about from reading. Unless Anuion is told something, he doesn't know it. Don't make unrealistic leaps like that.

Please edit, Helka man. Watch your dern spelling!

Thankee,
Aylwen

EDIT- Don't forget those evil sigs!

[ April 27, 2003: Message edited by: Aylwen Dreamsong ]

Helkahothion 04-28-2003 04:21 AM

Okee, no splitting up the group, and no spelling. Got it.

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-28-2003 03:38 PM

Don't forget Helka, there is an Elf and a hiding Angalos in the kitchen...I think it'd be kinda hard to miss that...

Now, I guess just about anyone can post now (except for Helka, we don't want to double-post). I'd prefer it if Ith or Ransom posted, but it doean't really matter that much. Also, once we're all out of the kitchen and are a whole group again, DayVampyre, can you bring us back to the common room (but don't do anything once we get there).

They need to add a 'sleepy' smilie.

Ransom 04-28-2003 08:11 PM

*ponderponder*

Have you heard from Ith? If she's busy, I'll try to get an Llu-Angalos by Wednesday.

Do you want me to keep the character in the kitchen? Or could I start herding Angalos toward your group?

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-28-2003 08:54 PM

I think she was supposed to be back from some sort of choir thing today, but I don't know what is going on with her anymore. If you could post by Wed. Ransom, it would be great. It would also help if you started getting things in the kitchen wrapped up, since we're practically running overtime on this game.

Thanks
Aylwen

Helkahothion 04-29-2003 01:12 AM

Over time is a good thing right. I'm shure the mod's won't mind keeping this one up for a few more weeks. We still have to get the book right? Nice avvy BTW Aylwen. Female rockstars good.

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-29-2003 06:23 PM

Thanks, Helka!

The reason I say it is my last post is because, for those who didn't already know, I will be taking a leave of absence for a month or so and will not be able to post again here.
--Ith, Kidnapped! Discussion

So, Ith apparantly is taking a month-long hiatus and won't be returning in time to finish the RPG (I think...), so we will just have to carry Angalos around and just assumed she doesn't want him killed.

So Ransom, until we leave the kitchen, Angalos is yours to command and do what you will with him, within reason of course.

Aylwen

Helkahothion 04-30-2003 03:22 AM

Can't we just cut him up a little?

Please see the comments concerning "wack and slash" on the RPlague thread from Child of the Seventh Age and Rimbaud. Games in Rohan should provide more thoughtful character and plot development.

On the other hand, the point bears repetition. Here's the comments:

Quote:

Tolkien's Middle-earth, although a dangerous world, was a place where there was a great deal more going on than folk taking hacks at each other with weapons. I don't think we do enough to explore those other aspects: character development, outwitting your opponent through brains and deception rather than sheer might, exploring historical trends like migrations, etc.
[Child]
Quote:

The other side of the coin is less well explored; the male characters that ring perhaps more true than our myriad shieldmaidens (and in the hack 'n' slash routine so ably described above by the estimable COT7A, they do) are all flawed, albeit seemingly quite unintentionally. Their comments are frequently misogynist, they have no recourse but to violence, and as for emotional depth, its scarcity in most stories here borders on deliberation.

The avoidance of violence and suffering is a stronger and nobler aim than the indiscriminate use of force. Might does not make right. When you have a conflict between two characters, try and resolve it, work through the issues. Or, leave those issues festering in their minds, while the night turns black around them, which is invariably easier and more enjoyable.
[Rimbaud]
Both of these statements express concepts of writing which can very productively be explored in Rohan.

Hey Again,

Helka, mind the Mods! (Thank you, Bb !)

Ransom, if you could please get a post up soon about a confrontation in the kitchen and then getting them out of the kitchen, then I'll get someone to bring us to the common room. After that, I'll probably write one of the last posts (when they get to the book!), then we'll see how everyone want's to finish up with their character.

Aylwen

Ransom 04-30-2003 06:36 AM

I've got a doctor's appointment at 10:30 a.m. so I probably won't get the post done 'till this afternoon. It's half completed as of now. >_<

Aylwen Dreamsong 04-30-2003 02:19 PM

Thank you, Ransom. Your part is almost done!

Now we need someone to write about us 'saving' Angalos, meeting Llu and get us back to the common room. Lets see...who have we *not* seen a post from in a while...Mattius! Would you mind?

Thanks,
Aylwen

Thank you, Mattius. Since there are so few of us in this game, I'm going to recruit Orual to write the next post (pretty please with Mattius' pizza on top?), and I'll be sending her a pm about the post before I leave for Tae Kwon Do.

Indeed; I would not like it if Angalos died!

I have to say that I'm very sorry I haven't made an effort to be more involved in the Search for the Book RPG. I have been overloaded almost since it began, and this time it's become too much. That's why I will be taking this break. I apologize for not having posted more and I hope you all have a great time with the rest of this RPG.

Ithaeliel

Aylwen Dreamsong 05-01-2003 08:19 PM

Right. Thanks Orual.

In case anyone didn't get it, Arethin is unconsious, out cold, passed out, whatever you want to call it.

So, as I have decided to ask Helka take the next post (PLEASE CHECK YOUR PM BOX!), the work of our two Elves is finished. Termine! Fin! Though I would like to thank them for their cameo appearances! *Applaud* Thanks, DayVampyre and Ransom, or...Crystwen and Llu.

Aylwen

P.S. If there is anything you want to be wrapped up or added to the post involving the finding of the book, please PM me soon!

Helkahothion 05-02-2003 12:09 PM

I believe I missed that PM Aylwen, what did you ask? I only got an e-mail about what Anuion conserned most.

[edit] Never mind, I missed it in my box. Post is up. Is your post of finding the book the last one in the game? It would be a crying shame but allas. Life goes on. I would like to thank Aylwen for letting me in. This was my first Rohan RPG and I simply loved it! Aylwen, thanks!!!![/edit]

Aylwen Dreamsong 05-02-2003 02:13 PM

Thanks Helka. It's not the last post, I only consider it the most important one, is all. After I put the post up about us finding the book, we'll still have a few posts left over of the travelers getting back to Dale and wrapping things up!

So give me a little while and I'll hopefully have that oh-so-important post up tonight.
