Phervasaion 01-09-2004 02:34 PM

yep...thats right Carlas.

Carlas 01-09-2004 02:44 PM

Here's and easy one for you all!

Quote:

He's gone hasn't he?

Thorongil 01-09-2004 02:47 PM

Frodo, talking to Gandalf about Bilbo.

Carlas 01-09-2004 03:43 PM

Yup, go ahead Thorongil!

Thorongil 01-10-2004 04:44 AM

OK,
Quote:

You, least of all.

Goldberry 01-10-2004 09:00 AM

Boromir to Frodo on Amon Hen.

Thorongil 01-10-2004 04:11 PM

Correct.

Goldberry 01-10-2004 04:27 PM

Okay then!

Quote:

It must be getting late.

NZ Ringbearer 01-12-2004 03:02 AM

Is it Sam?
(Isn't that one from RotK?)

Goldberry 01-12-2004 02:03 PM

Yes, it is Sam in RotK. Go ahead, NZ Ringbearer.

NZ Ringbearer 01-12-2004 08:10 PM

Thanks!

Ok, Here we go...

Quote:

Aiya Earendil Elenion Ancalima
Its pretty easy, mind you..

Sparrow 01-12-2004 08:12 PM

My memory of The Return of the King is a bit hazy (only saw it once), but I believe that is Sam shouting at Shelob and holding the Phial of Galadriel.

NZ Ringbearer 01-13-2004 12:36 AM

Almost, Sparrow, but not quite, not right!

Thorongil 01-13-2004 01:52 AM

It's Frodo holding up the phial.

NZ Ringbearer 01-13-2004 02:32 AM

Yup Yup Yup! Your turn, Thorongil!!!!

Thorongil 01-13-2004 02:45 AM

Hmmmm, Lets see...

Quote:

He's here.

Phervasaion 01-13-2004 12:20 PM

Frodo in TTT when the Ringraith appears at Osgiliath?

Lyta_Underhill 01-13-2004 12:30 PM

Quote:

He's here.
or perhaps Legolas at Edoras in ROTK?
Cheers,
Lyta

Goldberry 01-13-2004 03:09 PM

Erm...this quote was asked on page 4 of this thread. This is what The Saucepan Man said about it:
Quote:

Legolas says something like "He is here" when Pippin has taken the Palantir. In Osgiliath, Frodo says "They're here".
So I suppose Lyta would have it the closest. But not to worry, Thorongil!

P.S. - If I am not mistaken, Lyta has a wonderful new PT! Congrats!

Thorongil 01-13-2004 03:10 PM

Lyta got it!

Lyta_Underhill 01-13-2004 05:02 PM

Many thanks, Goldberry! I have indeed just been re-invented as a "haunted halfling."

Now for the hard part--a new quote! (I didn't look on the last page either to figure this one out, but it is odd that it was used again only a page later!) I also noticed that some earlier quotes have lists of up to 5 separate quotes in one question--kind of confusing if you ask me! I think I'll just stick to one:
Quote:

What say you?
Cheers!
Lyta

Goldberry 01-13-2004 06:26 PM

That's Aragorn in the Paths of the Dead. I always think that part is kind of funny, after hearing it said in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Lyta_Underhill 01-13-2004 06:28 PM

Got it in one, Goldberry! Gee, I just watched POTC and missed that! Well, I've got to watch it again, then! Your go!

Cheers!
Lyta

Goldberry 01-13-2004 07:08 PM

Thanks, Lyta.

Ok, here's the next quote.

Quote:

You never can.

NZ Ringbearer 01-14-2004 04:07 PM

Is it Merry in Rohan, after Pippin's messed with the Palantir?

Goldberry 01-14-2004 08:30 PM

That's it, NZ Ringbearer.

NZ Ringbearer 01-14-2004 10:55 PM

Yay! Ok, here's the next one:

Quote:

I know
Looks hard, but is quite easy if you put your mind to it! Have fun!

Thorongil 01-15-2004 01:43 AM

Quote:

Legolas says something like "He is here" when Pippin has taken the Palantir. In Osgiliath, Frodo says "They're here".
After watching TTT again I saw that too, but that was the quote i meant anyway.

Phervasaion 01-15-2004 02:43 PM

Is it Galadriel to Frodo.

Quote:

I know what it is you saw.

NZ Ringbearer 01-15-2004 11:17 PM

Should've thought about the fact there is more than one 'I know' in LOTR. However, that slipped my mind when I posted.

So, sorry Phervasaion, thats not the one I'm thinking of.

Thorongil 01-16-2004 01:52 AM

Could it be Frodo to Gandalf in the beginning of FOTR?

NZ Ringbearer 01-16-2004 03:09 AM

Nope, sorry. I never knew how many there really were in LOTR. People say it a lot!

If you want me to do another, I will. If this one's to obscure, or hard...

Goldberry 01-16-2004 09:37 AM

Could it be Frodo to Aragorn at the end of FotR?

I have an idea for a new rule for this thread. We've established that we should ask quotes that are said only once. However, if somebody accidentaly asks one that is said more than once in the films, it would be nice to give it to the first person who gets it correct even if it's not the exact time the asker was thinking of. Make sense?

So don't worry, NZ Ringbearer, I'm sure you didn't mean to ask one that was said so many times. But next time if you guys agree to this new "rule" we will give it to the first person who gets it correct so as to avoid having to guess forever.

Phervasaion 01-16-2004 02:14 PM

So who goes next then? I think Goldberry's answer was probably the correct one so maybe she sould.

The Saucepan Man 01-16-2004 08:15 PM

I posted this in the FOTR Movie Quotes thread, but it applies here too:

Quote:

I think that it is best to avoid one word quotes unless they are pretty much unique. Otherwise the question just leads to a long list of answers which, although correct, are not the exact quote which the question-setter had in mind, and the question then becomes a bit of a lottery.
That applies to any short quote which is likely to turn up fairly frequently in the films. Please try to keep to quotes which are unique.

NZ Ringbearer 01-17-2004 04:13 PM

I agree to that. Sorry about anything I've caused. but if we are still going with this one, I'll give a few hints to speed it up.

It's not part of a sentance. Like 'I knowwhat it is you saw'

Its singular - 'He's very fond of you.'
'[B]I know[/B}. He'd probably come with me if I asked him...'

AND, It's not in Fellowship (Sorry Goldberry). Make it Easier?

paavo 01-18-2004 02:28 PM

It has to be Bilbo speaking to gandalf!

NZ Ringbearer 01-18-2004 06:51 PM

I Just said it's not in Fellowship.

Next one, not in Fellowship, wins.

Arvedui III 01-18-2004 07:01 PM

Herm, maybe this then.

Quote:

I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are.
Sam, at the end of The Two Towers when Frodo says that he can't go on.

NZ Ringbearer 01-20-2004 04:20 AM

Right - Arvedui III, you win. It wasn't the one I was thinking of, but I'll give it to you, to speed everything up.

For intrests sake, the one I was thinking of was:

"Sam, I need you on my side."
"I am on your side!"
"I know."

Frodo and Sam, in RotK, after Sam has had a fight with Gollum.

Anyway, Your turn, Arvedui III!
