Shall I spoil it? I don't think so.

But for recognizing my neat little Klaus next to my posts, I give you a hint. The one who lived by it was Barahir.

The word was daro...

Quote:
"...a voice spoke suddenly from the tree-shadows above. "Daro!" it said in commanding tone..."

It's Sindarin for 'halt' or 'stop.' Or so says my secondary source

Sorry men, this response was totally overdue.

To which quality is Cirdan associated with? (That's phrased badly) Or to which quality was he likened to? (Even worse.) Which quality was Cirdan given? (Better )

Nothing too specific, just a general answer will do

*EDIT: I thought of a decent phrasing for the question: To which quality was Cirdan attributed? (Woot!)

However, the third time Glaurung spoke was to Mablung (of all people) as he went back into Nargothrond.

And yes! Treebeard was what I was looking for. Cirdan is certainly older than Galadriel, having settled in Beleriand before the Vanya and Noldor left for Valinor.
Gandalf states that Treebeard is oldest in ME, and Treebeard says something about the first darkness, meaning the time just after the first spring of Arda... Quite an old fellow :-) ... Remember the conversation between Aulė and Yavanna, of the Olvar and the Kelvar. Fasinating ! At first I thought that the ents had come to life after the awakening of the elves, but it is not so :-)
