Nerwen 12-08-2007 06:07 AM

Then it's D) A dwarven name for a peak in the Misty Mountains.

Legate of Amon Lanc 12-08-2007 07:53 AM

Indeed. It is a short form of "Bundushathur", Gimli uses that once. It's the Dwarven name of Cloudyhead (I hope it's the correct name. Fanuidhol in Elvish).

Nerwen 12-08-2007 08:09 AM

B) Name of a hunter from Doriath
C) An Elf woman's name
D) A kind of a sea-bird

Nerwen 12-08-2007 06:55 PM

C) An Elf woman's name. It's what Gwindor called Finduilas.

Nogrod 12-08-2007 07:13 PM

"Faelivrin: Name given to Finduilas by Gwindor." (Index to Silmarillion, by word)

You can do better than that Legate! ;)

Good to see you Nerwen pick it up already...

Legate of Amon Lanc 12-09-2007 03:42 AM

Well, everyone complained that my questions were too hard :)
But as you see, looking it up took enough time from you that Nerwen could reply instead of you. Who comes first...

Nerwen, please continue :)

Nerwen 12-09-2007 04:46 AM

You have it, Might. (Actually it was the original name of Rómendacil I.)

Thread's yours.:)

The Might 12-09-2007 08:26 AM

Glithui is:

A. a city

C. a river
D. none of the above :D

Groin Redbeard 12-09-2007 06:32 PM

I believe Glithui was a small river that rose beneath Amon Darthir in the Mountains of Shadow. Is the answer C?

The Might 12-10-2007 08:57 AM

Yes

Groin Redbeard 12-10-2007 12:44 PM

Yay, thank you Might!:D

D. Gandalf in disguise

Good luck!

Thinlómien 12-10-2007 12:51 PM

Sauron.

Although D would be so funny. :D

Groin Redbeard 12-10-2007 12:54 PM

Wow:eek:! I haven't got this question up here for more than ten minutes and someone already gets it right. Maybe my questions are a little to easy.

Wow, I managed to make a not-that-obvious question. :D Your turn it is, then. :)

The Might 12-11-2007 01:00 PM

Well, it was indeed not so obvious

Lond Daer:

A. Was originally named Vinyalonde.
B. Was never rebuilt.
C. Was a place where timber was delivered.
Was a place where reinforcements arrived.

Nerwen 12-11-2007 05:38 PM

A. Was originally named Vinyalonde.

The Might 12-12-2007 06:56 AM

Oh dear, I seem to have been quite confused when I posted, it's more like three truths and a lie...
Anyway, please continue.

Nerwen 12-12-2007 07:22 AM

A it is.

Over to you, Might.

The Might 12-12-2007 09:08 AM

I am not sure about it still, but I think Estolad was where the first Men settled in Beleriand.

Anyway,

B. the Woodmen
C. the Beornings
D. the Men of the White Mountains

Groin Redbeard 12-12-2007 11:36 AM

B: the woodmen of Gondor.

The Might 12-12-2007 12:52 PM

Nope.
Also, please use one of the above, and don't add anything.
I am talking about the Woodmen from the Hobbit.

Groin Redbeard 12-12-2007 05:16 PM

:(Sorry, I assumed the woodmen were from Gondor because the Lebethron trees were grown in Gondor, and beloved by the woodsmen there.

The Might 12-13-2007 07:40 AM

Well, after you said that, you shuld probably be sure the answer is...

Nerwen 12-13-2007 05:45 PM

The answer is D) The Men of the White Mountains...

but do you count my answer or Groin's?

The Might 12-14-2007 06:43 AM
