Guinevere 04-29-2006 02:05 PM

USA TIMED (no R)

"I'm/ -ee-i--/ m-/ e-es/ --e-/ a-d/ I'--/ ----se/ --e/ --e-/ I/ -i-d/ --e/ t-/ suit/ me/."

Estelyn Telcontar 04-29-2006 04:20 PM

P, please

Actually, I've deciphered enough words to find the quote - if only I could find it! I've skimmed through all the minor works attempting to do so, with no success so far. Could you give just a tiny clue, perhaps whether it's a work of prose or poetry? That would narrow down the search.

Guinevere 04-30-2006 12:31 PM

"I'm/ -eepi--/ m-/ e-es/ -pe-/ a-d/ I'--/ ----se/ --e/ --e-/ I/ -i-d/ --e/ t-/ suit/ me/."

No poetry. I don't want to waste your precious time, so I tell you that it's from "Smith of Wootton Major"

Estelyn Telcontar 04-30-2006 02:53 PM

Ah, it took a very thorough reading, but I finally found it, thanks to your clue!
Quote:

The Master Cook in Smith of Wootton Major, speaking of a possible apprentice

Guinevere 05-02-2006 01:52 AM

Yes, that's right.
Perhaps it was a bit too short and obscure, but I thought it was applicable to the finding of quotes for this game :D

Estelyn Telcontar 05-02-2006 04:49 AM

No problem - finding a fairly obscure quote gets me to study the works more closely and to find something I hadn't remembered! I enjoy that - and can ask for hints when I'm really stumped, like this time. And it is a very appropriate quote! Now for a new one:
Quote:

Estelyn Telcontar 05-04-2006 12:49 AM

Guinevere, you're incredible! So few letters and such an obscure quote - I can't believe that you already got it! Applause... no - standing ovations!

(The quote reminds me of an empty chat room or a thread on which nothing is happening... ;) )

Guinevere 05-05-2006 01:38 PM

Thank you for the flowers, Esty! :) (and yes, the quote was very applicable!)

"-------/ ------/ ----/ -------/, --/ --/ ---'-/ ----/ ----/ -----/."

Estelyn Telcontar 05-05-2006 01:40 PM

Let's start off with my traditional favorite this time: S, please

Guinevere 05-05-2006 01:44 PM

"------s/ -----s/ ----/ ------s/, --/ --/ ---'-/ ----/ ----/ ---s-/."

Estelyn Telcontar 05-05-2006 02:01 PM

Every S needs a T

T-time! As a matter of fact, it's always T-time for S T!

Estelyn Telcontar 05-09-2006 06:48 AM

Not necessary - the first word gave it away.

Guinevere 05-09-2006 12:45 PM

Yes, well done Esty! :)
