Mariska Greenleaf 01-04-2004 03:12 PM

Who was the last King of Gondor before the interregnum?

Lindolirian 01-04-2004 03:16 PM

Can't be as simple as Eärnur, can it?

Ondoher?

Mariska Greenleaf 01-06-2004 02:11 AM

Actually you're both right, there were two interregnums, and I didn't specify which one I was talking about...
Any of you can go!

Lindolirian 01-08-2004 04:38 PM

What was the western boundry of The Mark of Rohan?

Hint: Not the Isen

symestreem 01-08-2004 05:04 PM

At what time? Cirion's gift to the Rohirrim was indeed bounded by the Isen on the west.

Lord of Angmar 01-08-2004 05:53 PM

The North-South Road?

Lindolirian 01-08-2004 06:07 PM

True, the Isen was part of the western border, but most of it was actually a northern border. The border that I'm talking about is, more specifically, a south-western border. And I don't mean the White Mountains either.

Elrond of Rivendell 01-08-2004 06:14 PM

Quote:

The bounds of the realm of Eorl were to be: in the West the river Angren from its junctio with the Adorn and thence northwards to the outer fences of Angrenost.
I would suppose you mean by south-west border the river Adorn.
Greetings,
EfR

Lindolirian 01-08-2004 06:17 PM

Very good, Mr. Of Rivendell!

Elrond of Rivendell 01-08-2004 08:51 PM

Thank you Lindolirian.

What hill did the Rohirrim call "the Holy Mountain"?

Greetings,
EfR

Okay, okay, it was my first question ever posted on this forum. I hope it wasn't to easy for you Lindolirian. But of course, you are perfectly correct. Please proceed.
Greetings,
EfR

Lindolirian 01-12-2004 03:56 PM

What marriage was the spark that started the Kin-strife?

Elrond of Rivendell 01-12-2004 04:05 PM

The marriage between King Valacar and Vidumavi, the daughter of Vidugavia (a Northman). Valacar's son Eldacar was only of half-Gondorian descent, a fact that Castamir used to reclaim the throne.

Lord of Angmar 01-12-2004 04:07 PM

King Valacar and Vidumavi?
[EDIT]: Apologies, didn't see EoR post a few minutes before me.

Lindolirian 01-12-2004 04:14 PM

Correct, of Rivendell. Alas, for ye of Angmar, I know the feeling.

Elrond of Rivendell 01-12-2004 04:36 PM

How many messengers did Cirion send to the Éothéod and which of them was able to deliver the message to Eorl?

Lindolirian 01-12-2004 05:45 PM

Six, but only Borondir was able to make it.

Elrond of Rivendell 01-12-2004 05:47 PM

Correct Lindolirian. Your turn.

Lindolirian 01-13-2004 02:35 PM

When did the news of the northern assualt of the Wainriders reach Ondoher?

Elrond of Rivendell 01-13-2004 05:09 PM

12th of Cermie, 1944

Lindolirian 01-13-2004 05:42 PM

Right on.

Elrond of Rivendell 01-13-2004 05:59 PM

Thanks Lindolirian.

Who brought the mearas from the West over the Sea? (Name in the speech of the Northmen)

Greetings,
EfR

Lindolirian 01-13-2004 06:27 PM

Béma, who was also called Oromë.

Elrond of Rivendell 01-13-2004 07:11 PM

Perfectly correct.
Your go Lindolirian.

Lindolirian 01-14-2004 06:24 PM

In which battle did Ugluk and his company "flee"?

Gil-Galad 01-15-2004 04:25 PM

Battle/Ambush of Amon Hen?

<font size=1 color=339966>[ 5:26 PM January 15, 2004: Message edited by: Gil-Galad ]

Lindolirian 01-15-2004 08:01 PM

Hundreds vs. one is hardly a battle. Hint: They never participated in the battle. Just ran right on by.

Thorongil 01-16-2004 06:57 AM

When the Rohirrim killed the orcs near Fangorn?

Lindolirian 01-16-2004 09:51 PM

Nay, Ugluk and his troop certainly participated in that one.

Gil-Galad 01-17-2004 10:33 AM

...Grinzazh(sp) and the hobbits? he was trying to protect them for saruman but grisnazh wanted to eat them and ugluk "fleed" to counter the rohrrim attack

Lindolirian 01-17-2004 03:52 PM

No, it was the whole troop of Isengarders. I put "fleed" in quotations because they really didn't flee, it just seemed like they did.
Think! This is Of Gondorians and Rohirrim.

symestreem 01-17-2004 04:14 PM

Could have been the battle of the Fords of Isen, at which Theodred fell?

Lindolirian 01-17-2004 05:15 PM

Yes, you are correct.

symestreem 01-18-2004 08:40 PM

Who was the "dark maiden"?

Sleepy Ranger 01-19-2004 06:15 AM

Morwen?
Mor-Dark
Wen-Maiden

So is it Morwen?

Finwe 01-19-2004 08:19 AM

Morwen of Lossarnach, who wedded Thengel, and brought Gondorian blood into the "Royal Family"?

symestreem 01-22-2004 04:28 PM

You are both correct. I am giving it to Finwe, because he specified which Morwen. There were two, Morwen Fengel's wife and Morwen Tuor's mother.

Finwe 01-23-2004 11:55 AM

(Actually, I'm a "she." *waits for horrified gasp* )

All right... hmm...

Which long-fated King of Rohan had a name that rhymed with his ill-fated brother's?
