Silmarien.

Tuor of Gondolin 08-06-2004 04:47 PM

Oops. Silmarien was already used, so last name so far is

Lady of the Stars

The Perky Ent 08-06-2004 04:50 PM

Um...I've already said Varda (Lady of the stars) You'll have to try again!

Tuor of Gondolin 08-06-2004 04:52 PM

I think the last correct response was
Lady of the Stars ?

Firefoot 08-06-2004 06:20 PM

I'm the one who screwed all this up... oops.

How about Salvia?

(left behind in Valinor by Finrod Felagund)

Sleepy Ranger 08-07-2004 08:58 AM

Elanor

NightKnight 08-09-2004 08:20 AM

Both Amarie and Elanor have been used already. ;)

Tuor of Gondolin 08-09-2004 09:50 AM

In that case the last one is
Prisca
posted by Wilwarin 538
(Prisca Bolger)

so an "A" is needed within one day or it's Wilwarin 538's turn?

Tuor of Gondolin 08-09-2004 10:02 AM

Amaranth
(Had to do a search to make sure it's a female name.

Amaranth Brandybuck
Aunt of Frodo Baggins. Amaranth Brandybuck was born in 2904. She was the daughter of Gorbadoc Brandybuck and Mirabella Took Brandybuck. Amaranth had an older brother Rory who was the grandfather of Merry Brandybuck. She also had five younger siblings: Saradas, Dodinas, Asphodel, Dinodas, and Primula, mother of Frodo. Amaranth Brandybuck died in 2998.
Etymology:
An amaranth is an annual plant with showy purple or crimson flowers. It is also a poetic term for a flower that never fades.

Source:
Appendix C: Brandybuck genealogy, p. 382

(There is at least one unnamed "h", a hobbit.

The Perky Ent 08-14-2004 10:31 PM

Well Tuor, you are the winner! Please continue!

Tuor of Gondolin 08-15-2004 07:37 AM

All right. How about olvar only? I imagine it's debatable whether ents should be included???

To start:

Telperion

Firefoot 08-15-2004 07:41 AM

Niphredil.

I don't think Ents should be included. Part of the definition of Olvar is that they have roots in the earth, and being that Ents can move they don't really have roots in the earth.

The Perky Ent 08-15-2004 07:56 AM

Laurelin

NightKnight 08-15-2004 09:40 AM

Nimloth.

Would it be allowed to pick forests?

Firefoot 08-15-2004 11:19 AM

Hirilorn.

Tuor of Gondolin 08-15-2004 01:08 PM

While it's a grey area, I like the idea of putting names of forests in, unless there are objections.
