Nope.

Evisse the Blue 07-21-2004 01:09 PM

Gwaihir?

wilwarin538 07-21-2004 01:15 PM

All I know is that the Valar were the Lords of the West.

Firefoot 07-21-2004 01:25 PM

None.

Morsul the Dark 07-21-2004 01:29 PM

Firefoot 07-21-2004 01:32 PM

Nope.

Hint - it's in the appendices.

Morsul the Dark 07-21-2004 01:37 PM

celebrimbor?

Firefoot 07-21-2004 01:42 PM

Nope.

Feanor of the Peredhil 07-21-2004 01:46 PM

Indeed it is in the Appendices, and the Lord of the West is Ar-Adunakor (forgive me the lack of thingamajiggers over the 'u' and 'o'... I'm not sure how to insert them).

However, a point: shortly under where it says that, it is stated that:

Quote:

This seemed ill-omened to the Faithful, for hitherto they had given that title only to one of the Valar, or to the Elder King himself.
The Elder King being Manwe.

Morsul the Dark 07-21-2004 01:46 PM

thurin?

Firefoot 07-21-2004 01:54 PM

Feanor has it. Nice job!

Feanor of the Peredhil 07-21-2004 02:01 PM

Thank you very much, Firefoot. By the way, I love the PT.

Next task: Yellowskin

hint: look in the appendices... I'm mightily fond of them

Kath 07-24-2004 07:34 AM

Yellowskin, the Great Writ of Tuckborough was kept in the libraries of Tuckborough in Tookland. In the Shire the old lore was largely neglected but there were always some hobbits who studied it and kept it in memory. In Bilbo`s time there were in the book-hoards in Tuckborough many manuscripts more than 500 years old. The oldest known were Yellowskin as it was popurlary called. Yellowskin dealt with the deeds of the Tooks from the foundation of the Shire though its earliest hand belonged to a period at least 4 centuries later. Yellowskin was estimated to be around 1000 years old.

Gil-Galad 07-24-2004 12:32 PM

don't hurt yourself kath...

Feanor of the Peredhil 07-24-2004 07:00 PM

Very good Kath. The Great Writ it is, also known as the Yearbook of Tuckborough. You're up.

Kath 07-25-2004 07:35 AM

Sorry for all the extra information, it's just that it reminds me a little of the LotR books. As in creating a history for a culture.
But back to the subject - another name for Celebrant (not Silverlode because thats too easy).

Evisse the Blue 07-25-2004 08:06 AM

Hmmm, this sure took some searching, but it payed off: the Dwarves call it Kibil-nala (with an accent on the 'a', I still don't know how to do accents :( ) - meaning approximately the same as Celebrant and Silverlode.

Kath 07-25-2004 08:09 AM

Yes indeed! I'm impressed.

Evisse the Blue 07-25-2004 08:24 AM

*blushes* why, thank you. :D

Aldarion

Firefoot 07-25-2004 08:51 AM

Evisse the Blue 07-25-2004 09:34 AM

Firefoot 07-25-2004 10:54 AM

Gil-Galad 07-25-2004 10:56 AM

Mt. Doom

Firefoot 07-25-2004 11:05 AM

Yep.

Gil-Galad 07-25-2004 11:08 AM

The Perky Ent 07-25-2004 11:53 AM

Here's the next one (incredibly easy): Yellow Face

Boromir88 07-25-2004 12:17 PM

all I can think of is gollum's word for "The Sun"

The Perky Ent 07-25-2004 12:20 PM

Boromir88 07-25-2004 12:44 PM

Boromir88 07-26-2004 11:27 AM

remmirath is the correct spelling, but i know what you mean, your turn.

Firefoot 07-26-2004 11:49 AM

Oops. I didn't look it up; maybe I should have.

Anyway, another name for "Little Footpad".

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-26-2004 09:15 PM

Trahald?

Firefoot 07-27-2004 05:44 AM

Nope.

Encaitare 07-27-2004 02:06 PM

Little footpad = Gollum

as in...

----------------

" 'Gollum,' answered Frodo. 'Or at least, so I guess.'
'Ah!' said Aragorn. 'So you know about our little footpad, do you? He padded after us all through Moria and right down to Nimrodel.'

-----------------

Firefoot 07-27-2004 02:12 PM

Precisely!

Encaitare 07-27-2004 07:57 PM

Awesome.

Next one: Nóm.

It's a bit tough, so happy hunting!

The Perky Ent 07-27-2004 08:07 PM

Wisdom?
