That is correct Professeur Glirdan. ;)

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 07:02 PM

i'm still thinking of my womanizing lines... Wilwa, i might PM for some reminders

Glirdan 09-15-2005 07:04 PM

OOOO!!! So I'm a French teacher to!?!? Cool!!!!! :D And thanks for that clarification Wilwa.

wilwarin538 09-15-2005 07:09 PM

Oops the French in me came out there. Whats the English word? profeser maybe?

No. Only if he gets killed by the Wolves. Not if he gets lynched.

I am rather sorry to be missing out on this one as I was looking forward to a pared down game and the cast looks good.

Enjoy.

Encaitare 09-15-2005 07:25 PM

I have a question pertaining to the game that hopefully a mod [*coughSaucecough*] can answer. We know that mods have certain superpowers. Can they see the other recipients of a PM? When I was sending out roles, I sent Sauce's separately from the other villagers' just in case.

wilwarin538 09-15-2005 07:28 PM

Just some random little rules I want for this game:

~ votes are irretractable
~ no mass lynchings, two people lynched at the same time is the max I will allow
~ no players (dead or alive) are aloud to post on this thread about the current game
~ no PMing between players, Wolves are the only ones aloud to PM
~ ^ Wolves can only PM during the night
~ I want at least one post from each player each Day, or else you will be lynched. Unless you have a very good RL reason
~ no posting during Night phase
~ no signing up for the next game until this one is done
~ can any one who is not playing refrain from posting in this thread about what is happening in the current game

Thank you very much!

Kitanna 09-15-2005 07:30 PM

It looks like I must pick a village role. I've always been fond of the crazy cat lady...so despite my hate for cats I want to be that crazy cat lady.

Actually, it would be proffessor. And I honestly don't care. I like the idea that I teach french as well.

Another update:

Anguirel-villainous outlaw and poacher, one of the Gaurwaith
Azealia of Willowbottom
Boromir88- Cafe owner
Cailěn
Celuien- the town eccentric best known for her vast collection of pet frogs.
Dancing Spawn of Ungoliant
Eonwe-boondock saint
Gil-Galad-Escape Artist / Womanizer
Glirdan-teacher
Kitanna-that crazy cat lady
Kuruharan-theater owner/traveling faire operator
Lalaith-tumbling acrobat and dancing girl at Kuruharan's fair
Márcolië Lamen-expert on Gadian Literature
The Perky Ent-experimenting food merchant(spice racks and all)
the phantom- town drunk
WaynetheGoblin- rich man, owns a big mansion

Those who haven't given me a role, you have less then 24 hours to do so, or else I'm making one up, and it will be very stupid and embarassing.

the phantom 09-15-2005 07:41 PM

I will be the village drunk. I own a run-down shack on the edge of town but spend all my time in Boromir88's cafe (at the bar), or in the street in front of the cafe (where I often sleep).

No one knows how I can afford to never work and continually buy drinks. Also, no one knows where I came from (I moved to the village five years ago) and what it is that drives me to desire a constant state of inebriation.

The Perky Ent 09-15-2005 07:43 PM

That's because you, phantom, are a Ewell. The scourge of Macomb! (Yeah, I'm reading that book at the moment).

Also, I can work at Boromir's cafe, depending on how he wants to run it. Or, I can run a stand. Whichever works best for y'all!

Well, SP, just make sure you get into my game. I'm going to go ahead and stick my foot in the door to mod WW XII or XIII. It will be a pared down game, and I'm sure the cast will be excellent.

I know this is WAY early, but I'd like to mod the game after the one phantom does.

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 08:19 PM

like i said, i can mod one, i have an idea for a unique WW game... again if anyone wants to hear about it ask me

Glirdan 09-15-2005 08:25 PM

I got an idea. Why don't you mod WW XII and then I mod WW XXIII? That way you can use your idea in it and then if I like it, I can incorprate it in mine, if no one has any problems with me and phantom modding the two after Holby.

Lalaith 09-16-2005 02:38 AM

I'll be a tumbling acrobat and dancing girl at Kuruharan's fair...

I can't wait. :D

Cailín 09-16-2005 05:17 AM

Since I can't think of anything else, I'll be a barmaid at Boromir88's cafe - with a degree in Psychology though :D

When are we starting again? With all the timezone confusion, I don't really get what tomorrow is ^^

Very much looking forward to it!

Ahem, assuming that you meant XIII, I think there's already a lengthy list of future mods waiting their turn. :) Here are those who wish to mod a game (hope I didn't miss anyone).

XI = Holby
XII/ XIII = phantom
spawn
Oromin (December/ January)
Glirdan
Gil-Galad

Oh, that sounds tempting. I don't mind having a stupid profession but I can think one up myself. I'll be a riksha driver. Thanks.

Admins can. Mods can't. So don't worry, I have had no advantage in this game as a forum Mod (doesn't it show? ).

As for game mods, the following are pencilled in:

Werewolf XI: Holbytlass
Werewolf XII: the phantom

Having been regular players for longer, I think that dancing spawn and Oromin should have priority to mod the games after that provided that they are able to. That gives us more than enough games to be getting on with for the time being.

Glirdan and Gil, your interest in modding has been noted.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 09-16-2005 12:28 PM

Also, seeing how popular the game still is, we should maybe introduce a 2 games-in-a-row maximum for players. Anyone else think this might be a good idea?

Mithalwen 09-16-2005 12:45 PM

Or maybe run games concurrently? There is a lot of interest in both playing and moderating. Maybe there should be an occasional game for novices only - it does seem that the very experienced players can dominate (until they are killed for being too dangerous) . I don't think there should be permanent divisions but if there were enough players for 2 games at a time it might be interesting and helpful to let the beginners and novices have a game to themselves while those who played more got a game where they won't be automatic choices for werewolves night 1...

I love the idea! I think it would add an interesting element of complexity and yet give those who are a bit green around the collar some good experience.

Anguirel 09-16-2005 02:15 PM

How sweet!

Werewolf Junior

Werewolves=Werecubs

Seer=Fun Fortune Teller

Ranger=Boy Scout

Hunter=Nice, RSPCA-licensed Drag Hunter who thinks killing foxes is nasty

Simply thrilling...

Alrighty then. I'm going to send the roles out now. I will put the thread up at 7pmEST tonight and that will signify the beginning of Night 1.

Once you get your roles I would prefer you don't post on this thread to much. Thank you. :D

wilwarin538 09-16-2005 02:46 PM

Roles have been sent. If I missed someone just PM me. I don't think I did though but just in case.

Reminder. Make sure to be invisible. I will aslo be making myself invisible. ;)

Eomer of the Rohirrim 09-16-2005 02:47 PM

Mithalwen brings up a most excellent point. Some players are big targets just because of their experience and may never get to live past a couple of days again.

Edit: Should we all stop talking now? I have been taken aback by how quickly this game has started!

That's a great idea. Maybe someone could put together a beginner's game in the Novices and Newcomers Forum? With the forum administrators approval, of course. :D Perhaps with a certain maximum time on the downs... say four or five months? That would help a lot of people get experience, and would elminate the possible confusion of having two simultaneous WW games going in Mirth.

Yes, I can definitely see that happening. But what can be done?

I agree with that. If it's possible, I could mod the first one, but could I still participate in this one?? I'm after all not quite a begginer now. I did after all fool all of you. As if you thought I was the wolf!! Sheez!!!

The Perky Ent 09-16-2005 03:34 PM

It's a vaid point. I, personally, don't think it should be in Nocives and Newcommers. Although you'd be a newcommer to the game, I don't think the thread is one that belongs in that forum. It just seems too...myrth. Having multiple games does sound intriguing, though. PM's out the wazoo!

That's just my two cents!

Márcolië Lamen 09-16-2005 03:39 PM

Having games for novices and experianced is intreging, but at the same time seems like it is forcing. Strategies do include different people of different levels. You can learn more being thrust into it too. So I'm not sure, the idea of having the two different levels seems to make sense, but I'm not sure if it'd work as well as planned.

Having two games going at a time may help with numbers at least though

Glirdan 09-16-2005 03:42 PM

I personaly think we should start a game for those newcomers who want to play in the WW games, that way, as said before, they get experience for the real thing. I'm volunteering for the possison of mod, only if the Admins don't have a problem with there being a junior version of WW that is. If we have a junior version, it might make the members more interested in playing WW, sooooo...... It's all up to the Admins though..............

Boromir88 09-16-2005 03:47 PM

It's an admirable proposal, I think it will help out with the growing numbers.

The Saucepan Man 09-16-2005 06:36 PM

Well, it was always anticipated that we might have two games going at once if the number of people wanting to play was sufficient. Personally, I think that it's a good idea because games are shorter with less players starting and there are therefore less people waiting around for the next one to start. I would suggest 15 players as a max, with 12 around the ideal number.

I've no problem with a game for "beginners", although the boundaries will become less defined over time. But I'm not happy with the idea of players participating in more than one game at the same time. So I would suggest that the first Werewolf junior starts once wilwa's game is over with Glirdan moderating.

Any objections?

The Perky Ent 09-16-2005 06:41 PM

Sounds good! I'll bring the spices (assuming I survive X)

Glirdan 09-16-2005 06:44 PM

My 554th Post!!!!

I'm quite fine with that Saucy. But just to get ready for the thread, are we going to change any of the current rules or roles?

That's up to you Glirdan, if you're modding. You need to be careful, though, to maintain the game balance. I'm happy to help you out with suggestions, but I suggest that we wait until the current game is over.

Btw, I will be away from Sunday until Friday 23 September. In the unlikely event that wilwa's game finishes before then, I hereby stake my claim for a place in Werewolf XI (Holby's game).

Normally, recruiting should only start once a game is finished (so please don't let this provoke a flood of applications). I'm only mentioning it now because I don't want to miss out if recruitment is over by the time that I get back.

The Perky Ent 09-16-2005 07:28 PM

Well...it will probably take around 14 days (or whatever the math is) for the game to end. So...unless we double lynch, and the wolf's for some random reason kill solo, you should be fun. Have fun doing whatever you're doing!
