Ahhhh. Good one. I was looking for a specific person, which is why I didn't get it. Next letter is E.

Mettare 07-07-2005 06:25 PM

Is it a Queen?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-07-2005 08:42 PM

Is it once distant but now nearer?

NightKnight 07-08-2005 03:01 AM

Is it a descendant of kings?

Arestevana 07-08-2005 07:43 AM

Is its light a sign of trouble?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-17-2005 11:39 PM

Oromin?

Will it be here to answer our questions? ;)

Orominuialwen 07-18-2005 11:05 AM

Sorry to be so slow in responding! :o
It's not Erendis, Erellont, Ereinion, or Erelas.

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-18-2005 09:05 PM

Is it once distant but now nearer?

Dimturiel 07-19-2005 01:25 AM

Did they separate two lands once?

Orominuialwen 07-19-2005 04:19 PM

It's not Ered Gorgoroth. Nilp, the only other possible answer I can think of for yours is Erech, which you already asked about, so it can't be that. What was your answer?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-19-2005 10:36 PM

My answer was Eressëa. In HoME, it was really lonely, placed exactly between Aman and the Hither Lands, with no landmass for miles around it. By the time of the Silmarillion, it was moved closer to Aman.

Next letter, please. :)

You're really evil, you know that? Using HoME?

Orominuialwen 07-20-2005 04:21 PM

Well, I had already said that it wasn't Eressëa in post #1359, but I'll give to you anyway, seeing as I don't want the tiresome bother of having to go through every mountain range in MIddle-Earth, and the next letter will eliminate that possibility. The next letter is G.

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-20-2005 09:02 PM

Oh, sorry.

How blind of me not to have seen that!

Oh, drop the bloody theatrics.

OK, so is it the land of Fëanor's grandson?

Orominuialwen 07-20-2005 09:58 PM

Indeed, it is Eregion. At least this way I don't have to go through the 9 different possibilities beginning with "Ered" (according to the Encyclopedia of Arda). Now that would've been a pain! It's your game, Nilp. :D

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-20-2005 10:12 PM

Thanks . . . I think.

Now I'll be the one you'll be troubling with your questionsss of yours.

Let's start with a G.

Gil-Galad 07-21-2005 07:30 AM

Is he a awesome person? and also Wifeless

Orominuialwen 07-21-2005 03:38 PM

Is it a grey wizard?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-21-2005 07:36 PM

Is he a awesome person? and also Wifeless Not Gil-Galad
Is it a grey wizard? Not Gandalf

Gil-Galad 07-22-2005 07:34 AM

Was he Mutilated?

Celebriel Esgaledhel 07-22-2005 04:15 PM

Did he know Estel?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-23-2005 08:57 AM

Was he Mutilated? Not Gelmir
Did he know Estel? Not Glorfindel

Dimturiel 07-23-2005 10:34 AM

Did he betray his companions?

paavo 07-23-2005 03:59 PM

Did he notice something before one of the rohirrim?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-24-2005 05:20 AM

Did he betray his companions? Not Gorlim
Did he notice something before one of the rohirrim? Not Ghân-buri-Ghân

Welcome back, paavo. I daresay you came back at a bad time--now I have to be subject to your extremely tricksy questions. ;)

paavo 07-24-2005 03:02 PM

Thank yoi Nilp I'm glad to be here. :) I try not to dissapoint you. ;)

Did he tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences?

I was kinda hoping you would. I mean, a nice clear head for me would be nice. :p

Did he tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences? Not Glóin

Celebriel Esgaledhel 07-24-2005 11:03 PM

Was he related to one who tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-24-2005 11:45 PM

Was he related to one who tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences? Not Gimli

paavo 07-25-2005 04:02 AM

Ah, but don't you think that clear heads are much overappreciated? I mean isn't that what heads are made for: making them such a mess that it hurts. :p

Did he tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences? (Now why do I have the feeling that I've seen that clause somewhere before? :) )

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-25-2005 06:24 PM

Well, they would hurt better if they were clear.

Wait . . .

Did he tried to follow the path of a wild reindeer with fatal consequences? Let's say I give up. What's your answer?

paavo 07-26-2005 07:33 AM

I had already forgotten the satisfaction one gets for thinking up a guestion you can't find an answer to. :p The correct answer would have been Glaurung as he tried to cross Cabed-en-aras through the same route as a a wild reindeer escaping from the hunters of Haleth. And I think we all know how Glaurungs jump over the Cabed-eb-aras ended. :)

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-26-2005 07:16 PM

With a pretty nasty thorn on his belly? ;)

GR

Orominuialwen 07-26-2005 10:45 PM

Was it used in battle twice by great evil?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-26-2005 10:51 PM

Was it used in battle twice by great evil? not Grond

paavo 07-27-2005 05:14 AM

Thorns in a belly really are nasty. They wont come out however hard you try. :p
Did he have too many targets?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-27-2005 07:37 PM

Did he have too many targets? Not Greenleaf

More nasty, however, is swallowing a thorn. If it pierces your stomach, and the gastric juices ooze out, you'll slowly dissolve from the inside. A painful death. :p

Eeew!

Hookbill the Goomba 07-28-2005 02:52 AM

Is it the only one in Bywater?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-28-2005 03:11 AM

Is it the only one in Bywater? Not the Green Dragon

Amanaduial the archer 07-28-2005 05:21 AM

Was he a treacherous counsellor of Theoden?

Nilpaurion Felagund 07-28-2005 08:19 AM

Welcome, Aman!

Was he a treacherous counsellor of Theoden? Not Gríma
