Does anyone know, whether it's the norm to count a cobbler as
a) a villager
b) a wolf
c) not at all
in the final count when deciding whether the wolves have won or not?

So if there are two ordinaries, two wolves, and a cobbler, how it goes with the standard interpretation?

We would be happy to hear the standard rule as we are not sure about it...

I'm pretty sure that in this case that the wolves would win(in fact I'm really sure :p ). The Cobbler is just there to mess with everyone's heads, since they, like the ordos in the game do not know who is who. The Cobbler is pretty much on their own team and doing what they must to "help" the wolves, but they wouldn't count as part of the wolf team in the end. Hope this helps a little. :D

Basically, in that case there are three villagers and two wolves left which means that the wolves need to make yet one kill in order to win, but if it's Day, any Cobbler that wants to play safe votes for themselves, the two wolves add their votes on the poor Cobbler and by the nightfall, there they are with two ordos against two wolves, so the baddies win. If it's a Night, the wolves will get their victory after the Night's kill, that's how it usually goes.

Well, someone has to do that, too, right? :p

Lalaith 06-06-2006 01:09 PM

I think the cobbler counts on the wolf side...this was the case in Diamond's game, I'm pretty sure...(shudders at memory of GoosePanMan)

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 01:15 PM

Thanks for everyone. :)

We have our rules now.

Valier 06-06-2006 01:20 PM

So are we actually starting today? It would be nice to know for sure.:D

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 01:25 PM

Okay, spawn, you're animals' dung cleaning specialist. :p

And damn, now I have to think of a new punishment occupation unless we want to have more of those dung specialists in our "village". (That concerns only the phantom at the moment.) It will be The Royal Saliva Wiper.

One player missing, has anyone any idea of a player who'd want to join now so that we could start today?

If someone dies in Kath's game toNight - and if it isn't either of us - (same deadline, 10 PM GMT) and would like to join and be online at the moment, we could take her/him in and start the Night one hour later than the normal deadline.

Without one more player we will not start the game before tomorrow. There is still 2˝ hours to go.

Technically SpM counted as a villager, but for my narration I let him live happily ever after with Kath. The last day had Kath, SpM, Nogrod, and Not-Cailin alive. So when Kath and SpM lynched Nogrod, that reverted to a Night Phase in which Kath killed Not-Cailin. Then it was left one wereduck and one villager, Kath and SpM, meaning Kath won. I just fudged the narration a bit so that the night kill happened during the day right after the lynching of Nogrod.

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 02:23 PM

We're still hoping to start today... *sigh*

But even with 14 players we're going to start tomorrow, then we're just not going to have a cobbler.

If we have 15 players or more, we can have the cobbler.

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 04:00 PM

We still need one more player and will accept four to five at maximum. The game will start tomorrow this time unless we get one player in one hour. (The Night1 will just be one hour shorter then.)

Eonwe 06-06-2006 04:01 PM

I'm in! Hopefully I will have more time to devote to this fine village!

(How was that for being punctual, eh? ;) )

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 04:04 PM

Great! :D

Game starts in an hour with Night One (one hour later than the normal deadline). We're waiting for the possible new player from Kath's game.

Eonwe, if you have any ideas of the role (relation to Turgon and/or Elenwë), please post it here.

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 04:08 PM

Okay, it seems there are no adds from Kath's game.

Roles will be PMed soon.

Players
Valier - Elenwe's personal chamber maid
Diamond18 - Dimwë the half-wit second cousin of Elenwë
Naria - Family's goat herder

Lalaith - Aredhel's tutoress
Firefoot- Aredhel's friend
Jenny - An Embroiderer, lost, not related
Roa - Elenwë's personal guard
phantom -

Kath 06-06-2006 04:08 PM

Ooh yeah sorry about that. Blame the Ranger!

Glirdan 06-06-2006 04:27 PM

Well, Lommy, Nogrod, if you would still like me to play (just got your invite), I will play. And if you guys do, make sure my occupation is The Mouth Of Turgon's Dentist!! :D

Sorry, Glirdy, we just sent the roles. :( Hope to see you in some other game in future!

Thinlómien 06-06-2006 04:43 PM

The game has now begun.

The deadline is 10 pm GMT.

Eonwe and phantom, you have 23 hours and 15 minutes to come up with a relation unless you want to be Royal Saliva Wipers...

Eonwe 06-06-2006 05:22 PM

How about Turgon's herald?

I add now a new rule that we forgot from the rule post:

There will be no clues in the narrations.

Thinlómien 06-08-2006 12:20 PM

Players!

There was a mistake in the rules:
Quote:

- Everyone has a choice of her/his vote once each Day
Well, naturally that's true , but the intention was to say:

- Everyone has a choice of retracting her/his vote once each Day.

I've corrected it now.

Just to make sure you know that there's a possibility of one retraction/day if you didn't know it already.

Diamond18 06-08-2006 01:19 PM

I'm confused about the deadline. 10 PM GMT should be 4 PM my time (CDT), but Day 1 started at 5 PM my time.

The game started on Day1 at 10.01PM GMT

Check the current GMT from here:

Roa_Aoife 06-08-2006 01:29 PM

During Daylight savings time, you are at -5 GMT, not -6, as you normally are. So, 10PM GMT is 5 PM CDT. Nothing's wrong with your clock. ;)

Just look near the bottom of the page, and it will tell you what GMT you're set on.

Diamond18 06-08-2006 01:38 PM

Hmm, I think my problem is that all this time I've been thinking GMT time and the time in London is the same thing. And, apparently, it's not.

So 5 PM my time it is. Okay. So I'll be voting about an hour early. Not that it matters to anyone but me. :p

Roa, that depends on the clock. The one on the wall has been stopped at 9 AM for a couple days now, but the computer clock seems to be correct. ;)

It is during the winter but we have BST to make the most of the long evenings :D Just be grateful they didn't continue the double summertime thing... then it would be 2hrs out

Greetings and salutations!

I am here to inform you that, due to some event in Kuopio, dancing spawn of ungoliant will not be able to participate in toDAY's discussion. She will, however, be back by the next DAY. I think.

~non-dancing spawn-in-law of ungoliant

Macalaure 06-11-2006 08:49 AM

As I already mentioned, I won't be around on the next DAY. I'll try to post a quick vote in the morning, but I cannot promise that.

I will return to the ice at the end of the next DAY.

Thinlómien 06-12-2006 06:31 AM

Eonwe is pulling out because of RL reasons.

His death will be with toDay's lynch.

the phantom 06-12-2006 05:44 PM

Ang, here's the answer to your vote question.

That was totally my fault. I wanted Naria gone and was going to vote for her (I already had her vote typed in), but then I saw Enca's vote for her and I figured with two votes already and another couple likely on the way that I could toss my vote on you just for the sake of spreading votes around.

But after reworking a couple things in my post, I posted it as it was, forgetting to change Naria to Anguirel. I realized it instantly and changed it within ten seconds. Enca must've clicked on the page during that tiny window and saw my accidental ten-second Naria vote.

But after I edited it, I quickly recalled the "no editing" rule, and thought that I should change it back to what I had (Naria), and do an official retraction if I wished to switch to you. So I changed it back to Naria.

Your name was up for less than thirty seconds probably. It's unbelievable that you would click on the page in that window and no one else. Sorry about that.

Needless to say, I decided not to retract and vote for you. Partly because I wished Naria gone anyway, and also because I was in an extreme rush (which was why I made my error in the first place). My friend was literally standing over my shoulder poking me and saying "Hurry up!" (we were meeting some people to play basketball and I was running late- because of participation in this game, of course).

Anyway, I hope that explains everything.

*sigh* Ok ok, I get it!! I know you must not be the only one that feels this way. I'm so sorry that I can not play up to yours and others expectations. Most games I'm in I actually do try my best and talk more than I usually do, but this game I was not my usual "ww ninja" self. And even when I do try and talk more people still aren't satisfied ....I just don't know what to do about it. Therefore, I will be pulling myself out of ww for awhile.....I am sorry to those who don't mind playing with me. I have alot going on in my RL right now and I think it would be best to do this. I will hand my reps out as people die in Lomgrod's game then I will depart.

I love you all :)

Naria

Anguirel 06-13-2006 01:21 AM

phantom, I understand. Cool.

Naria, we love you too. Even if you are a murdering pile of feathers.

Oh, sweetie, don't take it so personally. My wanting you gone was strictly in the interest of preserving my beloved village, not because I hate your guts or anything.

See you in a future game. :)

(I plan on killing you in it, too) ;)

Upcoming WW Junior Mod list

Samwise Gamgee
Glirdan
Valesse

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I got it right.:D

Diamond18 06-15-2006 11:49 AM

It appears as if Samwise hasn't visited (or at least, posted) since March 26th. I hope he realizes it's his turn to mod!

Mithalwen 06-15-2006 11:53 AM

Perhaps we can get Eomer to remind him?

Kath 06-15-2006 03:26 PM

*waves* Lommy! I guessed the last penguin! Damn seems I'm too late

Congrats for you anyway... :D Did you guess the hunter too or did you believe tp?

Samwise has been online after the March date. I pmed him before our game and he answered the next day. Someone could maybe just pm him. Or then use Aimé for the informing purpose.

Glirdan 06-16-2006 05:48 AM

Yes, we need to find out if he can mod because I'm still in the planning stage (most of it is already done) for my game. Another thing, has anyone seen Sleepy about lately? Because i really can't start the game without him...
