What is it with unsigned neg reps? if I did something wrong, I want to know what that is!! that's the point of the rep sistem after all.....

Now, did anyone forget to sign (or write anything on it for that matter) some neg rep points given to me because of a post on the F.A.Q.E. thread?

On a bit of a sidenote, now that I think I figured out how rep points go, I'm repping everyone :p no, not everyone but many people write many interesting topics! even if I don't agree with them, they are well written and interesting.

You just got to deal with it as a fact. The Admins aren't going to go out of there way unless there seems to be some spamming negative repper that just mass neg. reps everyone.

Somewhere way back in this thread there's been rants (me included and others) about unsigned negative reps, but hey, just kind of shrug it off and get over it.

Although, on the bright side, it was interesting to see a little variance in color in my reps received. Now it looks like Christmas! (green and red)

Actually, the first time I complained eh... who was it?... told me it had been him and he had meant to send me positive reps. So I was hoping that whomever neg repped me would tell me. I don't mind the neg rep on itself (after all, if you guys don't like me you can all go to Mordor!) but I WOULD like to know why you neg rep me, so as to try to avoid comments that someone might find offensive!!!

Correct, most people will put the comment and follow it by something like -- or ~ and then their name.

It is not obligatory. It is considered mauvais ton not to sign the reputation you give, but you are not obliged to do it per se.

True, but for 'someone to know' you must sign, or they don't know. Unless you PM them. Which just seems an unnecessary hassle to me.

Have you ever noticed, that signed neg-reps may affect your image of a person? When I was a newbie (I hope people don't consider me as one anymore...) I got a rather embarrassing and a bit unfair(?) neg rep, from a "higher" downer and after that I've considered her as a bit irritating person. Now the neg reps don't bother me so much (or affect my images of the downers, because I usually know them already), but in the other hand, I don't get such unreasonable and malicious neg reps anymore... This really bothers me, because to me myself it seems ridiculous to hold a "grudge" on somebody who nearly a year ago gave you an insulting neg rep...

I don't know about that... I mean, I try not to take the opinion of people I do not know and whom only know me through what I write on a message board not too seriously. Of course, if I say something offensive I'd like to know both why and who I offended, so that it won't happen again, but besides that I don't mind neg reps. And possitive reps are always a good thing, and it's usually good for starting a conversation with whomever repped you =)

As some I've repped will know, I tend to forget to sign, and then have to PM people. Even worse, I sometimes forget if I forgot or not, and PM just in case, and then it turns out I didn't forget after all.

I, like many people before me, must thank all those that has given me reps, and especially those that lately helped me to be "bound for the straight road". Maeggaladiel and Glirdan, thank you! And all those that appreciated my posts concerning Is Eru God?, thank you very much. I got a neg rep for one of the posts there, but you people saved me from breaking down and cry ;)

But I must say that it feels a bit embarrassing. What I mean is, there's a lot of members with very high repping value i.e. gives a lot of rep points per rep occasion. We, lesser members are very favoured by that. It must have been so much harder in the beginning when all you got was 2-3 points per rep. I feel much respect for the ones in top of the list that fought their way there back in the hard times :) I have such an easy way to walk in comparison!

I'm eagerly awaiting the first one (Lalwende?) to break free from the boundaries of this world and join Eru wherever he is.

Maybe the next secret level will be "Lalwendë has gone to see if Eru is God." :D

Or maybe before that should could "...is looking for wings on a Balrog." Or "...is asking Bombadil what he is." That would be great!

I'm starting to wonder if she isn't one of the regular members experimenting. Not me I can assure you. (Although it might be fun. :p ;) )

Why bother experimenting? We already know how far back the reps go.

This has been a nagging question for me. Sorry, just can't get it out of my head...What if someone with negative rep points negative reps you? Does this mean all those neg rep points turn into positive point? :p :D

Members with less than 10 positive reputation points and less than 50 active posts give 0 points of reputation, but can leave comments. You'll get neutral 'grey/blue' box, and maybe some comments.

Under everyone's name there is a "title" you might say. Is there a list of these titles that you can see how far you have to go to get to the very last name? If so, where is it? Thanks.

Well the titles go up to Ghost Prince of Cardolan and then stay at that until you reach 500 posts and have I think 11 jewels (got by reputation points). Then the Barrow Wight should offer you a personal title and you can choose what you want to have under your name.

Why should you have that feeling? If you don't do anything to deserve a neg rep your chances of not getting one will skyrocket. That's all you can worry about.
