Gil-Galad 01-27-2006 06:27 PM

one is lead the hobbits to Mordor...

Firefoot 01-28-2006 12:33 PM

And...

Gil-Galad 01-28-2006 01:51 PM

get the precious back??

Firefoot 01-28-2006 03:03 PM

I meant more like promises he made to other people.

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-28-2006 04:02 PM

Bring food to Shelob ?

Firefoot 01-28-2006 05:22 PM

Okay, here's the deal. Gollum probably made lots more than the three promises I had in mind, none of which have been stated on this thread yet. So whoever puts three (reasonable) promises into a single post will get it, even if they aren't the specific three I had in mind (you shouldn't need to stretch too hard here, honest). Okay? :) :smokin:

Oh, and if you could label them as kept or unkept, I'd be grateful.

Nilpaurion Felagund 01-29-2006 04:17 AM

Okey-dokey . . .

Kept:

Lead the Hobbits to Mordor.
Never let Sauron have the Ring.

Unkept

To be very very good. (Good, sure, but not very very. ;) )

Elu Ancalime 01-31-2006 06:42 PM

Kept
Show master to Black Gate
Show hobbitses up the stair into Mordor

Unkept
To not speak of the Ring (asked Frodo for it at Dagollad/Morannon)

6. Who besides Gollum broke a promise to Frodo (give the instance)?

Fingolfin II 02-01-2006 12:24 AM

Gandalf? When he promised to meet him at the Prancing Pony in Bree?

Elu Ancalime 02-01-2006 08:34 PM

Boromir, about 'only needing to borrow the Ring...'

Or maybe even the Mirror of Galadriel? But I suppose Bagshot Row really was dug up and all....

Turin left Nargothrond because he believed Glaurung's lies that his family were dying in Dor-Lomin.

Firefoot 02-07-2006 04:28 PM

Nope.

Rune Son of Bjarne 02-07-2006 05:46 PM

Feanor left his home and the lies was those of Morgoth

9. This betrayal turned out to be a good thing and benefited the betrayed one greatly.

Lindolirian 08-22-2006 09:03 PM

Wow. I last posted in this game seven months ago and I still have a chance. I can't pass it up.

Let's see. When Gollum betrayed Frodo and attacked him in Sammath Naur and saved him by falling in with the Ring.

Nilpaurion Felagund 06-20-2008 11:36 PM

This was a rather fun quiz.

If anyone can take the stage, so we can continue the fun . . . No, not me, I'm still convalescing.

Nerwen 06-21-2008 05:06 AM

The new topic is: Horses and ponies. (i.e. half the questions will probably be about Rohan.)

1. In "The Hobbit", how many different mounts does Gandalf ride?

Gollum the Great 06-21-2008 12:48 PM

Uh...... 3?

Nerwen 06-21-2008 07:41 PM

Guess again.

Gollum the Great 06-22-2008 12:10 PM

Ok, 2.
*spontaneously feeling very religious*

Nerwen 06-22-2008 11:35 PM

Try again.

(You need to use a bit of deduction here...)

TheGreatElvenWarrior 06-22-2008 11:39 PM

1.5... or maybe just one.;)

Nerwen 06-22-2008 11:47 PM

One guess at a time, please.

TheGreatElvenWarrior 06-23-2008 12:16 PM

How about one?

Aganzir 06-23-2008 02:23 PM

I believe the answer is four. Though one of them doesn't surely count as a horse or pony. ;)

Nerwen 06-23-2008 04:04 PM

Yes, four it is (At least, that's what I I make it, and it's my quiz.;))

Okay, nice easy one:

2. A white horse is the emblem of which country?

Gollum the Great 06-27-2008 01:04 AM

Now that's rediculously easy.

Rohan

Nerwen 06-28-2008 09:32 AM

Indeed. And while we're in Rohan–

3. What did the Rohirrim call Nahar's rider?

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-28-2008 10:02 AM

How evil. . .I know who the rider is, but I cannot remember what name the Rohirim gave this person.

Nerwen 07-05-2008 06:27 AM

Well, you'll have to better than that, sorry.
