He was.
Lindo - 1 Rune - 1 Fingolfin - 1 4. Explain this quote: "Then is Saruman not a traitor?" "Indeed yes. Doubly." |
Sauruman betrayed both the Wise and the Free, and yet he betrayed Sauron by sending Uruks to take the RIng.

Lindo - 1
Rune - 1 Fingolfin - 1 Elu - 1 5. Name two promises that Gollum broke and one that he kept. |
one is lead the hobbits to Mordor...
|
And...
|
get the precious back??
|
I meant more like promises he made to other people.
|
Bring food to Shelob ?
|
Okay, here's the deal. Gollum probably made lots more than the three promises I had in mind, none of which have been stated on this thread yet. So whoever puts three (reasonable) promises into a single post will get it, even if they aren't the specific three I had in mind (you shouldn't need to stretch too hard here, honest). Okay? :) :smokin:
Oh, and if you could label them as kept or unkept, I'd be grateful. |
Okey-dokey . . .
Kept:
Lead the Hobbits to Mordor. Never let Sauron have the Ring. Unkept To be very very good. (Good, sure, but not very very. ;) ) |
Kept
Show master to Black Gate Show hobbitses up the stair into Mordor Unkept To not speak of the Ring (asked Frodo for it at Dagollad/Morannon) ________ Uplander |
Sorry, Elu, I'm going to take Nilp's answers.
Lindo - 1 Rune - 1 Fingolfin - 1 Elu - 1 Nilp - 1 6. Who besides Gollum broke a promise to Frodo (give the instance)? |
Gandalf? When he promised to meet him at the Prancing Pony in Bree?
|
Boromir, about 'only needing to borrow the Ring...'
Or maybe even the Mirror of Galadriel? But I suppose Bagshot Row really was dug up and all.... ________ Ferrari mondial |
I think I should stop asking such vague questions... ;)
Fingolfin - 2 Lindo - 1 Rune - 1 Elu - 1 Nilp - 1 7. He left his home because he believed the lies of his greatest enemy. |
Turin left Nargothrond because he believed Glaurung's lies that his family were dying in Dor-Lomin.
|
Nope.
|
Feanor left his home and the lies was those of Morgoth
|
*Bump*
Firefoot ?
|
Yep.
Fingolfin - 2 Lindo - 1 Rune - 2 Elu - 1 Nilp - 1 8. This traitor was called a descendant of rats. |

Fingolfin - 2
Lindo - 1 Rune - 3 Elu - 1 Nilp - 1 Um... let's see... 9. This betrayal turned out to be a good thing and benefited the betrayed one greatly. |
Wow. I last posted in this game seven months ago and I still have a chance. I can't pass it up.
Let's see. When Gollum betrayed Frodo and attacked him in Sammath Naur and saved him by falling in with the Ring. |
*bump*
This was a rather fun quiz.
If anyone can take the stage, so we can continue the fun . . . No, not me, I'm still convalescing. |
The new topic is: Horses and ponies. (i.e. half the questions will probably be about Rohan.)
1. In "The Hobbit", how many different mounts does Gandalf ride? |
Uh...... 3?
|
Guess again.
|
Ok, 2.
*spontaneously feeling very religious* |
Try again.
(You need to use a bit of deduction here...) |
1.5... or maybe just one.;)
|
One guess at a time, please.
|
How about one?
|
I believe the answer is four. Though one of them doesn't surely count as a horse or pony. ;)
|
Yes, four it is (At least, that's what I I make it, and it's my quiz.;))
Okay, nice easy one: 2. A white horse is the emblem of which country? |
Now that's rediculously easy.
Rohan |
Indeed. And while we're in Rohan–
3. What did the Rohirrim call Nahar's rider? |
How evil. . .I know who the rider is, but I cannot remember what name the Rohirim gave this person.
|
Well, you'll have to better than that, sorry.
