Breathe, Ith! Take a deep breath, In...and out.

Everyone: Please edit your post if it in any way depicts Angalos being hasty and wanting to leave so soon. Right? Right.

Sorry, Ithaeliel! Chalk it up to a misread and a bad day. I've edited.

Namarie,

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-09-2003 09:28 PM

I've edited as well. See how easy that was? Ith, we would never purposely make Angalos look bad! *Looks innocent*

Good job Orual. Don't feel bad, happens to the best of us (I mean...happens to everyone of course!).

*Helps Ith to stop hyperventilating.*

LoL, believe me, this is not the first time I've edited...at the Green Dragon I started talking to a guy who was actually outside. But it is a good lesson--make sure to read the posts well! Don't take anything for granted based on the rest of the post, or take liberties based on something said, especially when dealing with other peoples' characters. /nods wisely/ Orual's Lesson of the Day. Kind of like my other Lesson for an earlier Day, which was not to put Orajel on an open sore. /winces/ Ouch...

~*~Orual~*~

Ithaeliel 02-09-2003 09:59 PM

*breathes normally* Thank you. I wasn't trying to blame anyone, I just tend to overreact a lot. Sorry about that! I'm still confused about the "tooo cheerfully..." thing though. *Puts on Treebeard voice* But, hoom, let's not be hasty now; we've plenty of time to fix these things.

doug*platypus 02-10-2003 05:53 AM

I don't need to buy a vowel, but like Ithaeliel I think I'm going to have to use my Edit Card.
Quote:

"Now tell me, you don't believe in this book do you? Surely its just children's stories. Right?" Rosfin finished his sip and looked up at Jack from under his bushy eyebrows.
This is OOC. Sorry. The quote, not the bushy eyebrows! Rosfin believes in the Book probably even more than the Book does. Don't bother pointing out that that last sentence didn't make sense... it sounded good!

Orual 02-10-2003 05:03 PM

Oh! I guess I have to edit, too--I thought that Jack was talking, going on again about how he didn't believe that the book existed. Mattius? Who's talking?

~*~Orual~*~

Mattius 02-10-2003 05:16 PM

What you mean that line what doug just quoted? Jack is speaking in the speak marks.

Hang on, I'll edit!!

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-10-2003 08:49 PM

Okay, so almost everyone edited their posts for Angalos being hasty and Rosfin not believing? I believe Helka may still have to edit for our friend Ith, but he can always do that when he has time...

Now, I must ask: Does anyone else feel the need to play their Edit Card before we 'move on' so to speak?

I know that some, like Rosfin, would prefer to leave in the morning, or at least later than the evening. Yet Jack seems ready to leave.

Let's leave in the morning. It would prvide a little time for every character to wrap things up in Dale. Orual could send Arethin on a quick trip home to talk to his brother and mother. We can get enough supplies for the six of them.

Maybe Jack can get his new buddies a discount on the rooms, if they are so needed?

How does everyone feel about leaving in the morning?

Mattius 02-11-2003 02:37 AM

morning sounds good to me!

doug*platypus 02-11-2003 03:13 AM

Hmmm... I went back to check if I had misread who was speaking, but Mattius had already edited! Quick work! Nice post, too! I guess that earlier I didn't read the post clearly, and I thought that Rosfin was speaking when it was Jack. Sorry. Lines like,
Quote:

"Can I offer you a refil my new friend?" Rosfin grinned widely.
Can make it a bit confusing, especially when I don't take the time to read and understand it properly. I'll look closer next time... after I trundle back from the little dwarves' room!

OKay I understand, I will try and make it clearer in the future, I can see how it is confusing. I was thinking about going back and editing it but that would leave me with more edits than actual posts!!!

Hello all!

Just a friendly reminder from your friendly friend Ith: please remember to disable your sigs when you post in the RPG!

Going well so far, y'all!

Thanks,
Ithaeliel

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-13-2003 09:28 PM

Awww! Orual! Such a heartfelt post! Poor Elethil! Poor Arethin! Good post, though.

Everything is going good guys. Like Ith said, lose those sigs!

Oh and Orual:

Anyway, keep up the good work everyone!

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-15-2003 03:22 PM

Okay Guys:

As much as I like Dale, we aren't getting any closer to the book by staying here. We need:

*Orual to bring Arethin back to the Inn

*The people at the Inn need to wake up after a good night's sleep

*Get supplies (ie food, water...) from the market.

And we need to get the heck outta Dale! Can everyone do that? Okay? Okay.

*Puts checklist down and prays for the snow to pile up on the roads*

Also, Bethberry has snowed us all in at the White Horse, so take a look and share all your Rpg experiences and ideas. I'm making my way over there as soon as I can!

Helka--

I don't know if you frequent the White Horse, but what's going on there right now is that all of the patrons of the Inn are snowed in after a storm, courtesy of the all-powerful weather-altering Bethberry ( ), giving everybody a chance to share their views and opinions on RP-ing in general, out of character. Hope that helps!

P.S. New sig and new title. And a new theme to go along with it. It must be one of god's little miracles.

We are not leaving imideatly, we have to run some errands before we leave. So Arethin could join us later. Just be with us before we leave. Was that a good answer. Just doing a little modding here. Hope you don't mind.

My uneducated American friends! Bacon butties are part of that great tradition, the English fry up. You fry bacon on the pan and the buttie part just refers to two pieces of bread with butter on- hey presto Bacon Butties. NB the bacon is not like it is in the States, it is not burnt to an absolute crisp, just until it is nice enough to eat!

Ithaeliel 02-18-2003 04:27 PM

Ooh, yummy! I don't like burnt bacon either, Matt; at our house we cook it the English way. That's so cool!

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-18-2003 04:27 PM

Thanks, Mattius, you lost all of us Americans for a second there . Though I still prefer my older sister's pancakes.

Helka, you have your own game where you can boss people around! LoL.

Just a quick question, are we all trying to get to the Iron Hills directly east of Dale or the Grey Mountains north of the Dale?

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-22-2003 08:31 PM

Sorry it's been a few days! The mountain which contains the book is just north of the Iron Hills, so we would be travelling east.

It won't take long (real time) to get our characters to the mountain. This Rpg was not meant to last very long in the first place. Anyways, the trick will be getting inside the mountain and getting the book. No doubt there will be traps and surprises in store for our adventurers !

I will post soon. We'll go to the market (carefully avoiding Arethin's old buddies!) and Jadae will grab some candles and then the group can begin there trip out of Dale.

Helkahothion 02-24-2003 01:22 PM

No need for candles, Anuion carries torches arround. He is almost all the time outdoors so he is never unprepared. Will there be some serious combat? I always like a good battle post.

We may have a slight run-in with a group of orcs, but not much more for battling. Sorry! The real thing is getting through the mountain, what with them smart Elves leaving traps to guard their book.

I never said this'd be a war/battle RPG so there! Yet again, I must say, you have your own RPG, which has seemingly more fighting than this one.

Aylwen

Mattius 02-24-2003 04:39 PM

I like the idea of a Raiders of the Lost Arc bobby trapped mountain, go Indy, I mean Jack Lots of teamwork will be needed I suspect!

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-24-2003 04:44 PM

You got it! And plenty of surprises too! Some of you will be randomly (I promise!) selected and I will send you a pm about what will happen to your character. Then we must see what your companions do for you!

Aylwen Dreamsong 02-26-2003 08:48 PM

Moving On!

Okay! We're all leaving Dale! It has been exactly a month (I think!) since Susan started the Game Thead. This game was only supposed to last from 2 1/2 to three months. We have barely left Dale (if you could call it 'leaving'). As I said earlier, it will not take long for us to get to the Mountain. And it won't be hard to find, either. Just north of the Iron Hills. Though we may run into some sort of evil group (I haven't quite decided yet) to give us a little taste of battle. Then we'll get to the Mountain. As I said in the White Horse:

Quote:

the most exciting part of the Rpg will come when the travelers have to get through the mountain (pyramid!) and avoid all the booby traps and tricks in the place and get the book (and get the heck outta there!).
Yeah. Thus, it won't be as easy as you may have thought to get into and through and out of the mountain.

If none of you want to post about us really leaving Dale, I will sometime soon. Though I'd really prefer it if one of you did, so that I'd be giving you all more of a chance to 'take the itiative' so to speak. Did that make sense? I hope so.

You would be like the bird in the cole mine. Mwuahahahahahaha.

Just kidding. The mine.. I mean moutain will contain boobytraps. What kind of traps will that be? Are they like pits with walls closing in and chrushing and giant rolling boulders kinda traps or more like wild animals kinda traps?

Helka, as much as we all love your clever and wondrous signature, it is a requirement that posts in the RPG thread be devoid of our sigs.

Helka (again...sheesh, you keep gettin into trouble!), I am not telling you what sort of traps until the time is right (and that is not now!).

I won't kill any of your characters, unless of course you want me to. We can have them mysteriously spontaneously combust after using Jadae's gifts.
