Saruman was the most powerful Istari, even if he did become evil; Osse seems fairly powerful, ravaging the coasts, and Ulmo apparently has no control over him. And then who could forget Sauron himself, the Second Dark Lord. Who almost became more powerful than Morgoth in his glory; and he was said to be the greatest of the Valar before his evilness. Others apart from those four could include Gothmog and Ariel, both powerful fire Spirits; Gandalf and Melian. - enep</p> |
