I've read this whole thread (why haven't I come across it last summer??) and enjoyed especially the contributions of Child of the 7th age. (Reminds me of the great old thread in books: "Frodo's sacrifice")
No wonder I am enjoying it! I had always entertained ideas of contributing to "Frodo's Sacrifice," but I never felt that I could add anything of substance; the thread moved me too much to finish a post there without a sharp spiritual longing that froze my fingers. Now it resides in the Haudh-en-Ndengin where I can go back and look at it if I can work up the strength! I always enjoy Child of the 7th Age's posts and quite a few others as well, but I do want to second that commendation!

Are there any "love-stories" between Elves in the books at all?? Somehow I only remember Elf-maidens falling in love with Men! (Luthien, Arwen, Idril, Finduilas and Nellas)
I believe Legolas sings of Nimrodel and Amroth as they are crossing the Nimrodel River upon entering Lothlorien. An aside--I have read somewhere, can't remember where, that Amroth was reputed to have possibly been the child of Galadriel...anyone know where I could have gotten this idea?

About Maedhros and Maglor: I felt very sorry for them too, but I think they were too preoccupied with their diastrous oath and making war, to have any thoughts for love.
Too bad! I'd have been glad to help!

Well, I can't think of anything else right now...thanks for your praise and response, Guinevere!

Cheers,
Lyta
