YAY! GOLLUM! I'll post seeing as this hasnb't been posted on for sooooooooo long!

Why does Gollum feel betrayed by Frodo? (where aswell <---- hint)

LePetitChoux 01-11-2003 09:03 AM

He thinks that Frodo betrayed him at the Forbidden pool because he (massster) promised to not hurt him, and then Faramir's men went and grabbed him, which was mean.

ElentariGreenleaf 01-11-2003 09:14 AM

Yup. Your turn! I think I made that too easy.

ElentariGreenleaf 01-12-2003 06:59 AM

LePetitChoux, it's your turn! (please post score too!)

LePetitChoux 01-14-2003 03:07 PM

I can't think of one, so I'll declare the turn open to the floor.

Pallando B.C 01-14-2003 08:12 PM

Since the floor is open.....

What irritated Gollum whilst in the Misty Mountains, and what did he do to cease it?

ElentariGreenleaf 01-15-2003 04:43 PM

Um, being alone? And he stopped it by having a slipt personality? Man, that's sooo much harder than mine *sits in corner a sulks, and starts extending "s"'s when spoken* We'll getsss the anssswer, yesssss....

Pallando B.C 01-16-2003 10:29 PM

No sorry, that's incorrect.

Beren87 01-17-2003 11:58 AM

Well...I would assume hunger to be an irritation, which he solved by hunting some goblins with the ring. No idea though, I went through ever section in The Hobbit concerning Gollum, a hint perhaps?

Pallando B.C 01-17-2003 09:14 PM

Both good guess, but both wrong.
Your right though Beren, It is said in the Hobbit (or other writings concerning Bilbo's adventure). Ok, this is the only contructive hint I can give ye!

Something to do with the ring.

Dain B.C 01-18-2003 04:21 AM

The voices in his head?

Pallando B.C 01-18-2003 04:29 AM

No, bad luck Dain.

Welcome to the Downs.

hobbitlass 01-18-2003 10:52 AM

Gollum wore the ring till it tired him. Then he wore it in a pouch next to his skin till it galled him. Then he hid it in a hole in the rock. But he always went back to look at it.

Pallando B.C 01-18-2003 06:17 PM

Well done, hobbitlass. You may go and don't forget your commitments to the thread What Doesn't Belong

hobbitlass 01-19-2003 11:29 PM

Thanks for the reminder on the other thread, Pallando B.C.

What do the orcs of Cirith Ungol call Gollum?

Entmoot 01-20-2003 10:06 PM

The orcs of cirith ungol call gollum her Sneak i think.

hobbitlass 01-23-2003 08:46 AM

You think correctly, your turn.

Entmoot 01-23-2003 09:28 PM

What was Gollum doing in the chapter 'The Great River', what was he described as?

Pallando B.C 01-24-2003 05:16 PM

Gollum was following the Fellowship on the river Anduin. He was described as a dark, log-shaped object with lamp-lit eyes.

Entmoot 01-27-2003 12:29 AM

That is correct Pallando

Pallando B.C 01-27-2003 03:32 AM

Upon Mount Doom, what did Gollum refer himself to if he were to die?

Entmoot 01-27-2003 04:48 AM

Die into dust - is what Gollum referred himself to upon Mount Doom.

Pallando B.C 01-27-2003 05:11 AM

Proceed.

Entmoot 01-28-2003 10:01 PM

What was Gollum's first verbal action in Lord Of The Rings? In other words when did he first speak or make a noice out loud at that moment in the story. (not a reference)

hobbitlass 01-28-2003 11:00 PM

'Ach, sss! Cautious, my precious! More haste less speed...' -Taming of Smeagol

alaklondewen 01-29-2003 10:05 AM

He hissed when the Company was camping on the shore of the Anduin. Frodo was on watch that night. Gollum reached out of the water, and Frodo saw his eyes and heard a hiss.

Entmoot 01-29-2003 10:48 PM

Well Done alaklondewen!! Sorry hobbitlass that was the trick in the question. 'verbal action'
Please continue

alaklondewen 01-30-2003 05:46 AM

What year did Gollum's life change dramatically with the meeting of Bilbo Baggins?

hobbitlass 01-30-2003 07:00 AM

Third age, year 2941.

Don't be sorry, Entmoot, I had forgotten that he had hissed at the company.

alaklondewen 01-30-2003 02:42 PM

Good job! You're up, Hobbitlass!

hobbitlass 01-30-2003 03:11 PM

'Yessss master of the ring, we helps it to get across. Good Smeagol knows way. Trust Smeagol, nice hobbiteses.'
What would Sam call Gollum when he acted this way?

TolkienGurl 01-30-2003 03:22 PM

Slinker, we guesses.

hobbitlass 01-30-2003 09:19 PM

We guesses right. you goes...

TolkienGurl 01-31-2003 08:31 AM

Name five things/people that Gollum hates.

TolkienGurl 01-31-2003 09:47 AM

alaklondewen 01-31-2003 05:49 PM

Why did Aragorn say that Gollum would never love him? What did Gollum do to him?

alaklondewen 02-04-2003 04:22 PM

Hmm...do you really need a hint?

hobbitlass 02-05-2003 04:18 AM

I don't, my computer has been acting up and I couldn't post sooner.

Aragorn said that he stank! Ha-Ha
Actually Gollum bit Aragorn and he in return was not gentle.

alaklondewen 02-05-2003 10:00 AM

Great! I didn't think it was a difficult question. You are up!
