Ha! Thanks for the pic, Gil.

Dang, I look good in spandex.

Elennar Starfire 03-30-2005 06:39 PM

Watch out for Falky, Phantom. If she sees that pic she'll never leave you alone.

sure thing... and purple spandex is so in these days

Edit: oh yea, and with that costume you get a gun, a white horse, a wolf companion and a nice cozy cave thats under a dense jungle somewhere in either Africa or Southeast Asia( i'm pretty sure its Southeast Asia...)

'Grr! I'm Capitalist and i'm going to eat your trees, trasport my waste material into your water reservoirs, support the Globalist movement, Improve upon our second attempt at Imperialism but forget the pacific this time!, Strengthen the gap between rich and poor, take your freedoms and replace them with fear, use the media like a wet hankie and rub it into your faces then causing you to catch the ignorant narrow-minded flu, Control the fedural goverment and your right at public opinion, try out Facism for a second time and forget the pasta, put global slave trafficking out of view of public concerns, try once again to win the 'war' against drugs, borrow more money than I have ever seen in the fedural reserve at any given moment, lower once again the minimum wage, allow the stock market to fall into itself all the while trasporting my reserves to a private account, Try to buy out central america again, feed you meat in patties that has made up from at least fifty different cattle, allow you once again to be laid off, Using funds for education for that of privatialization of oil and natural resources that will make me big $, and many other things but I don't have time to remember because I have to go to once again, another meeting as to how many other ways can I make your life a pain..."

By the way, I really don't think purple is your colour. Especially in spandex. I'm seeing a yellow or something close to brozey-red. But, it is seemly on you, I don't mean to offend...

Neithan 03-31-2005 08:45 AM

Actually Cheney/Bush are not really Capitalists, a slightly better picture would be Alan Greenspan. Also most of the things you listed go against capitalism. Especially fascism, barrowing money, taking away freedoms, and Imperialism. All of these are the opposite of what Capitalists want. And as for privitisation, I can take care of myself without government programs.
Sorry, I know this is not the place for political stuff but she started it! :D

Phantom...I'd stay away from spandex if I were you. In general it just doesn't look good on guys (or the majority of women for that matter).

The Saucepan Man 03-31-2005 08:51 AM

That's enough of the political stuff. If anyone wants to continue that particular discussion, then please do so by PM.

Ka, you should know better by now than to post something that is 99% off topic and bound to encourage further off-topic posts.

Hookbill the Goomba 03-31-2005 10:44 AM

Well put, Lord Saucepan!

Here's my take on ye, Phantom!
Phantom is a Dwarf. Long beard, shinny eyes and hair as wild as his imagination. Plus he sits at his little stone computer and types away his memoirs "Oh, to be important". :p

Hope you're not insulted.

Feanor of the Peredhil 03-31-2005 02:30 PM

The phantom looks like a glowing, man-eating squash from Neptune. He said so himself.

Fea

Gil-Galad 03-31-2005 03:49 PM

I'm sorry, i can't except any other of your images of The Phantom, mine shall forever be in my head...a man in purple spandex out of a horribly-written movie...

The Only Real Estel 03-31-2005 04:02 PM

I still imagine the Phantom as I originally did on page two :

Quote:

The Phantom: A Black Ridery type of person, usually dresses in black & if he's wearing something hooded the hood is extremely deep & quite dark (or course). Everywhere he goes he's followed by a shadowy mist of secrecy. Few have ever seen his face, in fact, I'm only guessing that he's male. Nearly 6 feet tall, The Phantom can be a menacing & intimidating form when he puts his mind to it.
Basically his avatar with a few added things.

Gil-Galad spends most of his day sitting in front of his computer playing Tetris whilst wearing a suit of armor.

The Only Real Estel goes about waving his sword at people and muttering something about his notion that the word "captain" should precede his name.

Gil-Galad 04-01-2005 07:41 PM

E_D sits under a tree on a nice sunny day with a laptop and surfs the downs

oh yeah and about my suit of armour, it chaves so i only wear it for the ladies :smokin: but mainly i try to avoid pants because they are evil... ultimately "Pants are just suggestions, like roads" hmmm that should be my siggy...

Morai 05-23-2005 06:45 PM

*BUMP*

I was thinking, about a second ago:
Has anyone ever imagined anyone on this forum as someone they knew personally, but never really has met in person? (I know I have, especially if I know what region of this planet they live in.)

Gil-Galad 05-23-2005 08:44 PM

well a part of the downs is to make new friends... me and Esgull live in the same region (around Calgary) never know, maybe we've met but don't know...now i'm scared...

Lathriel 05-24-2005 05:39 PM

Just popping in (I haven't posted on this thread for a year or so)

The Phantom always appeared to me like his name a phantom. Maybe even slightly ringwraithy. But he would be a good rigwraith(If that is possible)

As for people living close to Calgary, beware because I live in the Calgary area as well.

Gil-Galad 05-24-2005 08:09 PM

oh great...err...yay!...well i guess its good to have another Calgarian

Eh--I'm not worried, most of the things I say around strangers is extremely guarded. So those inside jokes I make about the stereotypes of my region normally would only make sense to those that lived there at some point.

I guess I'll let you guys off easy this time, watch out: not everything I say is as easy to interpret as it looks.

(I'm sorry, burrahobbit, but...) For some reason I always imagined burra as a fluffy creature of some kind. It may be that the "burra" made me think of spiny burs, but then as there was the hobbit, it turned into soft, fluffy burs or some kind. I don't know; my mind works in weird ways.

And for some reason, I agree that phantom is, in my mind, although I don't know him well, a misty spectre of some variety.

Gee, anyone have any mental images of me, other than those of you that saw my pictures?

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-03-2005 12:48 PM

No, m'dear. By giving us those pictures, you have completely ruined your chances as far as this thread is concerned. ;)

Kath 07-03-2005 01:25 PM

But Eomer, the phantom sent in a picture and still there is discussion about him.

I did have a picture of VanimaEdhel in my head but it's hard to describe, it was sort of like Mystique in the X-men films but not quite. Sorry, can't do any better than that.

It's been a while since we have been on the same thread, so there is a chance that this is purely imaginative:
Vanima has dirty blonde hair that's straight but surprisingly thick with a mind of its own. On most days it's restrained with a scrunchy. Sandals and jeans are the norm, with an occasional eye-catching piece of jewelry. Then there's always those sleek sunglasses....

That's because I'm the phantom, m'dear.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-04-2005 05:42 AM

We must always remember that the phantom transcends the norm. Anyway, there was discussion before we saw the pic, so our images are actually stronger and possibly more vivid than his pic. Also, just look at his avatar. I mean....come on! :D

Hmm yes, I think I've heard of you . . . weren't you big a couple of pages ago? :p

the guy who be short 07-05-2005 02:31 PM

Hmm. I have an odd imagination, so people tend to morph, in my mind.

Feanor of the Peredhil is sometimes herself. However, she is quiet often imagined as the  or :p smileys due to her overuse of them. Occasionally, when she is serious, she morphs into a (male) Feanor, mighty and wise and everything else the Noldor are, yadda yadda. When she calls me "m'boy" she is Spike from Tom & Jerry.

Eomer of the Rohirrim is kilted. Duh. He has long hair and occasionally morphs into movie-Eomer. Quite often, I imagine him as the :D smiley, with a stick body attached to it. I also cannot imagine him without a grin, whatever form he is in.

the phantom only has two real forms. One is his actual self. The other is his display pic, but darker and more mysterious.

SpM is simply his display pic. He never morphs. Occasionally, though, he wears a sophisticated suit worthy of a lawyer.

mormegil 07-05-2005 03:31 PM

Eomer I've always pictured as somebody who's hair is never neat or tidy but rather bushy and messy. I'd like to picture him with red hair but probably has dark brown. Average height and weight. But at home, when he can't find any threads to discuss, I see him watching the movies brooding over them trying to find something else to post about.

TGWBS Your picture shows what I thought you'd look like. Simply younger and skinny.

I'll take being perceived as a character portrayed by Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.

Actually, a girl on another board gave me a huge compliment: after she saw this, she said it somehow reminded her of Uma Thurman.

Dirty blonde hair - check, I have honey/dirty blonde hair.
Straight - no, it's curly.
Surprisingly thick with a mind of it's own - check.
Restrained with a scrunchy - check: have my hair back every day.
Sandals and jeans - sometimes check: I'm one of those weird people that either wears jeans or a skirt.
Eye-catching piece of jewelry - you know it...I have a jewelry addiction, I swear.
Sleek sunglasses - lol! I so should start wearing sunglasses.

Wow, for not knowing me, you really know me, Morai. *Gives a nervous glance over her shoulder* That you hiding behind the door?

Ah, I simply look younger. I'm 15, but look 13ish, I think.

I'd substitute skinny with hunky, but I can't. :p

Lhunardawen 07-06-2005 05:37 AM

tgwbs, you're only 15? My, I thought you were at least 18. Don't worry, I mean that as a compliment. ;)

Eomer has pasty white complexion, like a vampire's. Or Snoopy, for that matter. :D He has dark brown, slightly curly hair, has brown eyes that are constantly glued to the TV or the computer, and is quite tall and hunky. And however he says otherwise, he has a deep, mellow voice. (Okay, Eomer. You may laugh now.)

VanimaEdhel is, purely and simply, a mist. I don't know why.

Hmm. Eomer as hunky? I always imagined him as quite skinny. I associate tea with skinny people, I don't know why. Maybe 'cos I like tea.

mormegil used to be a black sword. Nowadays I just imagine him as his (incredibly tall) self.

Lhuna is her display pic. She has no body, just a levitating head.

Heren Istarion used to be orange fireworks. Then he was himself in a bandanna for a while, and quite often he's a large heren. The heren is white and majestic, and I always imagine it just about to take off, flapping its wings...
Yeah.

Apparently you have not read the earlier posts on this thread, for I have declared it illegal to assume that I look anything like my avatar. :p

Firefoot 07-06-2005 06:59 AM

TGWBS, I had also assumed that you were a few years older than you are, until I came across your profile a while ago.

The same goes for Aylwen Dreamsong - I had thought she was around 18 or 19, though she's actually 16 (I think).

On the other hand, until a short while ago I had thought that phantom was younger than he was, also around 18 or 19. So surprise, surprise, phantom's the trend-breaker and one of the very few that I have imagined as younger than he is. ;)

Lhuna, even though I know that you're Fillipino, I don't think I will ever be able to imagine you as such. You will always have long blonde hair and a Caucasian complexion, though you tend to be somewhat tan. For that matter, the same goes for Nilp... mostly, this still stands:
Quote:

Originally posted by me, page 1:

Except his hair is a little darker now (still spiked), and he's always very tan.

I pretty much imagine anyone who has their picture on the picture page as themselves - the notable exception being SpM, who is still the skinny guy in his avvie. ;)

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-06-2005 07:01 AM

Well, it looks as if I have people to answer to. How fun! :D

Morm is completely right about the hair; it just cannot be tamed. Messy, verily. I would say I'm tall only I saw Morm's pic and cannot really say that anymore! I'm 6 foot. Oh, and don't let the real Eomer's build fool you: I'm probably about half his size. I look like a long-distance runner (only I don't run) or someone who smokes way too many cigarettes (only I don't smoke). As for a deep mellow voice, well...I can put that on if you like. ;)

Try as I might I cannot imagine tgwbs as a dwarf. Just impossible. As horrible as this might sound to him, I imagine him as looking completely normal. Only shorter than usual, of course. With the possible air of a mafia lackey.

Lhuna is graceful, and as cute as a button.

Nilp is absolute California surfer with long blonde hair.

EDIT TO ADD: About Nilp, it was Firefoot's doing, I tells ye.

Gil-Galad 07-06-2005 07:01 AM

well everyone should have a good picture of me if they have seen the picture page...though i still find it funny that Esgall(i think) thinks i wear a suit of armour...

The only Dwarven criteria I fit are: short, hairy. So nope, that doesn't sound horrible.
Though I wouldn't say I look completely normal.
Any relationship with the Mafia whatsoever is purely coincidental.

mormegil 07-06-2005 12:25 PM

I picture Firefoot thusly:

Mid to upper 30's. She's a very busy homemaker that finds time for the downs. Trim but not petite. Average height. wavy light brown hair. Green eyes. Her house is immaculate with never a spec of dust. Very organized in self and apperance. Her outfits are always neat and pressed. No wrinkles for her.

 (I've used that smilie a lot today... hm...) I'll comment on two parts... the rest I'll leave to your imagining:

Mid to upper 30's. - Not even close.
Her house is immaculate with never a spec of dust. - Hahaha, you should see my room.

:D

Morm, before I saw your pic, I imagined you as: Early to Mid 20's, about 6', shortish dark hair, brown eyes - generally good-looking. A T-shirt and jeans type of guy who likes to have a good time.
