I have also backpacked around Australasia. I will go off again when circumstance allow, woudl love to see more of Asia in particular but in the meantime I want to explore my own fair land a bit more. |

Oh, that list really needs some updating. Active members added, non-active members removed. And worst of all, I'm not even on the list (when I asked Aman to change my location, she removed me from one spot, but didn't add me back). :p
I actually once did work on revising the list when I was bored; I even added members who never mentioned their location in this particular thread, but elsewhere on the site. I never actually posted it, partly because I worried that some members would be upset that I removed non-active members. But most of them aren't coming back...and if they do, they could always be added back. But if you guys like or wouldn't mind, I could work on revising the list again. It's time consuming, but I've been bored and need something to waste my time on...:rolleyes: |

Hmm...it's really difficult to decide what qualifies as inactive. And taking a look at the list, I realised it depends on the member. So here's what I did:
I consider most members who haven not visited the site for two years as inactive. But if a member had over 500 posts, I extended the cut-off to three years. And if the member had less than 50 posts, I shortened the cut-off to one year. Hopefully that's fair enough. But if anyone disagrees, let me know. I have to say one thing I noticed going down the list is while many of the earlier BDers don't seem active anymore when it comes to posts, several of them have at least lurked here in recent months.. |

You know something's outdated when several of the members listed are no longer registered users or haven't been on the Downs since "1969." :rolleyes: I also added names and changed locations for people who have moved since they were put on the list. All of that was done by references to locations on other sections of this site, from the BDer map, and my own memory. Of course I'm only human, so some of this info may be inaccurate or simply outdated (especially if it's from the BDer map). I have always found it weird that there are so few German members of the Downs, it has the biggest population of European states save Russia and it is my impression that LotR is very popular down there. . . At least almost all Germans I know have read LotR at some point.
Another thing I noticed was that Hoblytlass lives in Fredericksburg and I in Frederiksberg. . . well, I found it slightly amusing. (btw Frederiksberg is a independent municipality situatet in Copenhagen and surrounded by the municipality of Copenhagen. . . This is why I often just say that I live in Copenhagen) |

Wow...I had no idea there were so many Oregonians on the Downs, and the names I spotted actually surprised me. I'm still mum on my specific location, though I live between Gwathagor and Pio :Merisu: Maeg or Sleepy Ranger might give you a hint if heavily bribed. I might too actually. :o
