Gil-Galad 07-30-2006 09:47 PM

Rhun is only place thats a Sea

Glirdan 07-30-2006 10:00 PM

And you're correct. Your thread! ;)

Gil-Galad 07-30-2006 10:01 PM

cool...

Mountains of Mirkwood
Lonely Mountain
Misty Mountains
White Mountains

Glirdan 07-30-2006 11:41 PM

Ummm... The Lonely Mountain is the only one of the lot that isn't part of a group of Mountains?

Gil-Galad 07-31-2006 07:09 AM

nope

Rune Son of Bjarne 07-31-2006 09:12 AM

Mountains of Mirkwood - they are the only ones in a forrest. . .and I belive they where more like hills than actuall mountains.

Macalaure 07-31-2006 09:24 AM

I say 'Mountains of Mirkwood', too, but because the other three contained dwarven settlements at some time.

Gil-Galad 07-31-2006 01:21 PM

White Mountains has the forest of the Woses...good guess but no...

And Macalure you are correct, it was easy but i just wanted to see who would get it

Macalaure 08-01-2006 01:50 AM

So....

Dol Guldur
Minas Morgul
Mount Gundabad
Tol-in-Gaurhoth

Gil-Galad 08-01-2006 07:03 AM

Mt. Gundabad never had any of Saurons influence in it, and it was a pure Goblin Colony

or

DOl Guldur was the only place not originally belonging to a race of good (Men, Dwarves, Elves)

Macalaure 08-01-2006 07:18 AM

The second it is.

Go ahead!

Gil-Galad 08-01-2006 11:39 AM

Halls of Menegroth
Amon Hen
Pelenor Fields
Battle of the Unnumbered Tears

this one is a toughy

Glirdan 08-01-2006 12:54 PM

Amon Hen is the only one that isn't part of Rohan.

or

Battle of Unnembered Tears is the only battle of the four.

The Squatter of Amon Rûdh 08-22-2006 05:51 AM

What's so civil about war anyway?

The Halls of Menegroth hosted a battle between Elves and Dwarves. The rest of those battles were against Orcs and their ilk.

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-22-2008 07:00 AM

I am taking over this thread

Lets start with an easy one.

Doriath
Nargothrond
Brethil
Dorthonion

Nerwen 06-22-2008 07:44 AM

Nargothrond?

The other three were heavily forested.

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-22-2008 07:58 AM

nope

it is easy in a more faith oriented way.

Siiw 06-22-2008 08:07 AM

Brethil was inhabited by humans?

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-22-2008 11:32 AM

Getting closer, but not quite right.

Also Barahir, Baragund and others lived for a time in Dorthonion

Nerwen 06-28-2008 09:34 AM

Another clue, please.

Rune Son of Bjarne 06-28-2008 09:58 AM

of course. . .sorry

Siiw was on the right path, but need to think in smaller terms or rather more specifick terms.

Another clue could be the word "Doom"

Gollum the Great 06-29-2008 04:36 PM

Brethil was never actually conquered.

Rune Son of Bjarne 07-01-2008 08:08 PM

Sorry I did not spot you reply. . . and I am sorry, but it is not the answer I am looking for.

I thought this would be an easy(ish) one, but clearly my brain works in unorthodox ways. . . then again my friend Asbjørn got it right in first try.

Nerwen 07-05-2008 06:47 AM

'Nother clue, please.:Merisu:

Rune Son of Bjarne 07-05-2008 06:48 PM

The answer has to do with a single being.

Gollum the Great 07-05-2008 08:22 PM

Yeah right. Really easy.

Uhhh... Turin never went to Dorthonion???:mad::mad:

Rune Son of Bjarne 07-06-2008 08:36 AM

Turin never lived in Dorthonion

Hey I thought it was easy. . . Turin is a very used theme in the quiz room and as I told you earlier: I presented this for my mate and he got it right in first try without any clues.

Anyways it is not the first time that the stuff I find easy is difficult to others and what I find difficult turns out to be no problem for them.

The thread is yours Gollum

Gollum the Great 07-06-2008 11:03 AM

Alright, sorry. Maybe I was wrong.

Edoras
Helm's Deep
Pelargir
Minas Tirith

Shards of Narsil 07-07-2008 02:45 PM

Pelargir

This is the only place in the list that Gandalf did not visit during the war of the ring.

Gollum the Great 07-07-2008 08:37 PM

Nope.

Gollum the Great 07-09-2008 06:23 PM

Hmmm...

Hint?

Gollum the Great 07-13-2008 02:50 PM

I'll take it for granted. It refers to something during the LOTR.

Azaghâl 07-16-2008 02:19 PM

It sounds too easy but, there was no battle at Edoras.
