Wow...first scary part is that you knew the names of all those cars, second scary part is that I knew what all those cars were...
Hmmm...I could imagine Lobelia and Lotho Sackville-Baggins in a Cadillac...you know, the less-expensive one they just came out with? They would be all excited because it was still a Cadillac. They'd be driving all over Hobbiton, honking and nearly running people over on purpose, just for fun. |
Yeah, Vanima, that sounds about right...
|
I can also imagine Lobelia in one of those Electric Wheelchairs, zipping around, honking at people, and running over small children...kind of like the little old ladies do where I go on vacation, since cars aren't allowed. I never knew those things went 20 miles per hour...but couldn't you see Lobelia doing that? Zipping around, running over small Hobbit children and the like... http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...lows/glotz.gif

Bet she would. And I bet, before the wheelchair she'd spent her life parking in the spaces for handicapped folks, insane with rage when she got tickets for that.

those are awesome!
does this include motorcycles?? if so, gadalf: yamaha r1, those fly, but i'm not sure if they come in white... if no crotch rockets apply then he could have a 1967 mustang gt 500, like steve mcqueen in bullet. his eyes may go to the back of his head whilst driving, but hey! he'd have fun getting to work every morning! Definitely Sam in a nine-year-old Dodge Grand Caravan with a half-inch layer of popcorn and Juicy Juice ground into what's left of the carpet and upholstery, and various toys and action figures permanently stuck under the seats. And an old yellow "Baby On Board" sign hanging in the back window.
Galadriel in a white M-B convertible. Leggy would settle for nothing less than a classic early 60's Jaguar E-Type roadster in British Racing Green, as much for the beauty of its lines as for the song its engine sings. Elrond in the latest "must-have" SUV from Mercedes or BMW. Lurtz in an all-black Ford F150 pickup, lift kit, blacked-out windows, black pipe grill and brush guards, off road lights, killer sound system, and a bow rack on the back window of the cab. Lobelia Sackville-Baggins in an old 1976 Chevy Malibu 4-door, with the top of her head barely visible above the dashboard. And Gollum in a clapped-out Yugo. |
I cannot believe that no one has been assigned a yellow Camaro. The oversight!
Originally Bilbo had a yellow Volkswagon beetle but when Tolkien revised TH to make it more compatible with LotR, that became a yellow Camaro. Little did little Bilbo know what magic lay in store in his shiny Camaro. ;) |
For some reason I see Sauron driving around in the Munstermobile (remember Herman Munster's long black pseudo-hearse?)
I think Gandalf should drive a DeLorean. |

I want to see Eomer in full armor riding a Segway.

My dad has this old, '94 GMC pickup with a step on the sides. It's white, but the front of it is a wierd purple-maroon color. It has a Redneck sticker on the windshield, and the cap is blue. Personally, I think it'd be perfect for Aragorn. "The Nazgul are coming! Jump in the back, and hide behind my giant box of tools!"

You're all wrong. The Witch-King rides a T-34. :smokin:

Cars? Why not try space shuttles? They'd work better than the Eagles, take them to other planets, and some of them will run faster than the light and thus cars. They can do things quickly in urgency.
|
If Sauron had a ride, it would look like a black stealth bomber.
|
Hmmmm....off the top of my head (and not looking at most of the thread):
Gandalf, of course, would ride an Eagle (originally AMC, then Chrysler). Aragorn would choose a Ranger (pick-up) or a Pathfinder (Nissan). Bard would prefer a black Arrow (Pierce-Arrow). I suppose Fangorn would need a Forester (Subaru). Cost-conscious Hobbits might choose a Midget (MG). Orcs probably tool around in Gremlins (AMC). Tooks or Brandybucks might opt for a Country Squire (Ford). Earendel sits back in a Grand Voyager (Chrysler). The Maia Tilion probably has an Eclipse (Mitsubishi). Gil-Galad has a Javelin (AMC). I can imagine the Mouth of Sauron with an Envoy or Ambassador. Barrow Wights? Wouldn't they love a Ghost (Rolls-Royce)? The Nazgul all drive Phantoms (Rolls-Royce). Grima Wormtongue might select a Protégé (Mazda). Shelob goes to market in a Spider (Toyota). And, of course, Elrond's car dealership of choice is Ford of Bruinen. |
I hope Elrond has better luck with Ford of Bruinen that poor old Theodred had with Ford of Isen.

Arwen drives her pink Cadillac to the shop to pick up her
monster truck for monster truck finale with Futurama's Leela (then the girls drive over to Mordor to freak out Sauron eye-to-eye). |
