|
denethor terrifies me
|
Denethor is looney; that makes me laugh like this, heheh...
Okay, also creepy is Wormtongue. Sorry to the Grima fans out there, but that's what I think. He doesn't have eyebrows for heaven's sake! Okay, and I'm gonna agree with those Sauron lovers; he does look good at the beginning of FotR. Love the armor there, pal!! |
Galadriel or Elrond. Definately. Elves are scary....
*munches on Frodo, Legolas, and Pippin* Yes, ALL at once. ~Hirilaelin P.S. Rate me please! |
Does Sauron have a fan club? Takes all sorts to make a world!
I agree, Denathor is insane. Can people stop eating characters PLEASE Edit: I have just discovered that because of you lot trying to eat all and sundry this thread has been named on '101 most annoying things a barrowdowner would say' STOP IT NOW! hi |
Red cross?
|
Galanfea, I'd really like to see those two Elrond pictures...but all I can see is a white box with a red cross in it.
I think most of you who like certain characters (Grima, Denethor - where'd you see him, btw? - Sauron) - you really need therapy, more than Wormtongue does even... ~ Elentari |
Sorry about that, they suddenly are for me too, I don't know what's causing it...

well this is getting very off topic (not to mention gruesome) so...
i think the scariest in the book are the nazgūl and from the movie it is probably the Balrog of Morgoth! |
Thank you, Bekah and Lady_Bįin! There are sane people around here after all!
|
Well, I wouldn't say I was sane, exactly, but I'm not past the madness horizon and accelerating!!! I'm just past the madness horizon and slowing down to a stop. It's pretty evident from my writing though that I'm not sane, but I'm still not insane enough to want to eat characters from the book. Or to have a crush on certain of those characters.
Oh well. ~ Elentari |
elentari, that is pretty much me to. Scariest in TTT is Eomer. He looks like he is going to bite everybodys head off! I know i put this already but TOO bad! Nya! Lol!
Look out behind you! It's a rabid spork! |
I'd say the scariest characters are
1st Prize equal: The Nazgul and their steeds 3rd prize: The blonde Uruk-hai. Sorry, but that guy really freaks me out! And then I'd have to say Grima scares me a lot, or at least gives me the creeps, because he's such a treacherous bas*ard. And Saruman's pretty worrisome, too. But Sauron doesn't really scare me at all...on second thought, his eye with all the electricity is pretty scary, so he's back. And then...the 'unexorcised' Theoden. Yeerch. And...and I've forgotten the other scary people. ~ Elentari |
I vote for the ring. That this is evil, and scared the life out of my when it started whispering to itself. it can make you a shadow of your former self. How can that not be scary?
|
I would say the Nazgūl, then Denethor, then Grīma Wormtongue. The Nazgūl just rfreak me out, Denethor is creepy, and Grīm Wormtongue just scares the hell out of me!!
Why are some of you guys scared of people like Eowyn and Elrond????? Elessar |

It's near the start. Where Pippin throws his brooch. I think. anyway, Lurtz asks something and the blonde guy answers.
Where have you guys seen Denethor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Theres a picture of Denethor on the official LOTR site. In fact, look here:
http://www.lordoftherings.net/index_cast.html perhaps not his scariest pic. |
Maybe not, but he freaks me out almost as much as Grima does!
|
There are actually a lot of Denathor pictures around, try here. I'm going to see TTT again tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out for the blonde Uruk-hai.

Gandalf scares me. Maybe it's just Ian McKellen, but there you have it. The blonde Uruk scared me too. That's kinda pathetic.

Whatever. I mean the leader guy. I'm not really that good with the Uruk-hai/orc names. Sorry.
~ Elentari II |
I think you mean Ugluk. I saw the blonde uruk-hai, by the way, he's bald at the front, which is why I didn't see him at first.
|
It may just be me...I find, in the book and the movie, the ringwraiths to be much scarier when on horseback than on the flying creatures.
And I tend to find Saruman scarier than Sauron. (BTW, in Fellowship movie, in the beginning when Sauron holds up the one ring after forging it, doesn't his armour make him look fat? Like he has a big beer belly or something.) I suppose in both examples it is because Saruman and horsed wraith's are closer, more 'in your face' kind of thing then Sauron in his far-away scary tower and wraiths up in the air. |
I think that the flying things look like they're streight out of 'Walking with Dinosaurs'
|
the wraiths had drunk too much Red Bull
|
Saruman's scary because he was considered a friend a lot more recently.
And yes, I find the Ringwraiths on horses much scarier in the movie than Ringwraiths on fell-beast-back. I'm not sure about the book, though...I think I'll have to read it again. ~ Elentari II |
Sam. Or Sauron.
|
I can't decide! All those mentioned in this thread are scary/creepy in one way or the other... All I can say is that Sauron is the ultimate evil and so ought to be the scariest one. Just saying he OUGHT to be, not that he really is.
In both FoTR&TTT there was one scene that made me jump. In FoTR it was Bilbo trying to touch the Ring (in Rivendell) but now I can't remember which it was in TTT! Got to go and see it again! [ February 09, 2003: Message edited by: Annunfuiniel ] |
Sauron isn't the ULTIMATE evil, it's Melkor. Or Sam.
