ur turn

Dior 04-14-2002 08:27 PM

What was the Gabilgathol, who was it made by, and what was it also called?

Birdland 04-14-2002 09:40 PM

This was the Dwarf name for the city of Belegost, which was founded in the First Age. (Possibly by the Broadbeam clan of dwarves.) It was located in the Blue Mountains. Belegost meant "Great Fortress" in Elvish. It was destroyed in the War of Wrath.

Telchar 04-15-2002 02:59 AM

Just as a side note to Birdland. Belegost was founded a long time before the 1st Age, as the dwarves of Belegost helped in the building of Menegroth. Which was build during the 3rd Age of the captivity of Melkor.
When exactly it was founded I cannot say however.

Dior 04-15-2002 08:19 AM

you are not incorrect. go.

Birdland 04-15-2002 08:48 AM

Oh dear...OK, Why were the Corsairs of Umbar foes of Gondor?

Dior 04-15-2002 11:05 AM

They were the remnants of the people who followed Castamir during the kin-strife in Gondor, after being defeated.

Birdland 04-15-2002 11:19 AM

That's right. Take it away Dior.

Dior 04-17-2002 08:20 PM

BTW, you guys don't look these things up, right?

Dior 04-17-2002 08:21 PM

Yeah, um, not ME, but the Dior, heir of Thingol, who was named Dior besides him?

Joy 04-17-2002 10:54 PM

Dior 05-23-2002 09:19 PM
