That would be correct, Androndo. Your turn. Maybe I like you a little bit, after all.

How many dwarves "were able to stand firmly" after Bilbo rescued them from the spiders in Mirkwood?
(i don't think he will like me for this one :-) |
Four?
|
And again the awnswer is correct!
|
OK - This is an easy one.
Why was the thrush knocking on the stone? And I'm not looking for any answer dealing with the map inscription or the prophecy. |

Your turn! |
Whoooo-Hooooo, my first correct answer!
Name all that were mentioned as being present at the counsul of Elrond. |
Gandalf, Elrond, Glorfindel, Erestor, Galdor, Legolas, Aragorn, Boromir, Gloin, Gimli, Bilbo, Frodo, Samwise. But the title of the thread is "There and Back Again", which is the subtitle to The Hobbit. Therefore it's still your turn to come up with a question from The Hobbit.

Correct Bruce. I forgot about that Went through the books to fast.
When and where were Gandalf's suprise appearances? |
When the Trolls caught the Dwarves in the woods between Bree and Rivendell.
And When the armies of the Wood Elves and Lakemen were camped out below the Lonely Mountain and Bilbo brought down the Arkenstone. |
"When the Trolls caught the Dwarves in the woods between Bree and Rivendell" is right.
Additionally, Gandalf 'disappeared' and reappeared in the goblin cave to cause a great fire that sent out white sparks among all the goblins. As the Great Goblin stands dumbfounded, Glamdring appears and takes off his head. He actually "appeared suddenly, and stood alone, with arms uplifted between the advancing dwarves and the ranks awaiting them." This would be after Bilbo had taken Thranduil/Bard the Arkenstone, when the dwarves attack while Bard and his men are debating. Gandalf stops them just in time to see the goblins/wargs who were following Dain and his men. I *think* these are the only occurrences. |
Legolas has it.
|
"One question at a time - and none till after supper! I haven't had a bite since breakfast."
Who said this, and what did he eat afterwards? |
Gandalf said it in Beorn's house to Bilbo and the dwarves. Afterwards he ate two whole loaves with honey, butter and cream and washed it down with mead.

You may proceed, sir.

Who found the cave that the party took refuge in from the storm (and were subsequently nabbed by goblins)?
|
Fili and Kili did
|
Very nice Theodred!
Your turn. |
I know Theodred and it's very doubtful that he'll be coming back, carry on or I can ask in his stead if you want.
|
On the second hand I just talked to him so he might be back, give him a few days.
|
You people have little faith. You sound like I did last summer when I would be waiting to answer a question.
What did the dwarves not care tuppence about? |
Butterflies above Mirkwood
|
Right you are Androdo my friend!
|
OK, now it's time to reply all my threads *aargh*...:
