You can't use wife. What you'll have to do to get from a husband to a wife (or vice versa) is do this:

husband -f> son -s> wife

or


wife -m> son -s> husband

Ok then wife is not needed.

The Eldacar that you mentioned was the King of Arnor, not the later King of Gondor who was the son of Valacar and Vidumavi. This seems to be a very common mistake.
