I've always said (and I always will) the two greatest elves are Finrod and Glorfindel (in that order) Finrod is so cool. He goes with Beren when he doesn't have to. He strives with Sauron, he fights that wolf to protect Beren. He is one of the few elves to return from Mandos.

Glorfindel, not just because he slew a balrog, but because he returned as well, that means he must have had a good heart.
