You are not alone Nerwen...

Not at all. This thread is indeed the very epitome of ['dʌstəbiŋ].

Indeed, this is the only thread I've ever seen on the 'Downs that is quite so ... fangurly. And why could no one spell in 2002?

My grandmother had a dusterbed in her guestroom. It sat next to a credenza and a davenport. Oh, and there was a chifferobe in the corner!

With that photo as a reference, I for one am very thankful, for once, for P.J.'s propensity for altering the LOTR story line from book to film. Seeing four nude hobbits running around what amounts to a cemetery in the middle of the day could have resulted in an early Mayan cataclysm.

Did it have a counterpane?

No, the counterpane was on the trundle, next to the settee.

Galadriel 06-18-2012 07:22 AM

Hahahaha, no. It was a bit weird - and slightly perverted, as has been noted - but not scary. :P

I am too old to accept this...damn, you know, I am just about Sean Bean's age. I found Boromir rather more attractive than I have ever seen Sean look. (Long hair always does it for me...)
The Hobbits are far to young for me to dare look at. And that pic?! Makes me want to go get a washcloth. K'mere, kid, you've some dirt behind your ears...! (i can see him squirming and yelling "Not now, Mom!"

I'm about Elijah's age and I preferred Mortinson's Aragorn personally....

Hobbits are cute but they don't have anything on the King.

Probably so. But there's a fine line between making a joke and clubbing people in the face with it.

Mithalwen 06-21-2013 04:46 PM

It is still making me laugh certainly far more than a few other things that have been tolerated.

Mith reminded of TGWBS in WW Sing while your winning. Wild man lacked syntax too.

"Wild man here.

Wild man say: Drive Fea, drive phantom out with sharp iron! Tricksy folk cause headache, even if innocent.

Wild man language connoisseur. Wild man like French."
