Well, nowadays people either bold or highlight their votes. Similar thinking with the highlighting, and it's mod's choice which one they use.

Ah, very clever! I was thinking read through one of the more recen games, but that first game is much, much shorter. :)

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 12:51 AM

That was the first one I saw.

Celuien 05-14-2010 12:52 AM

Ah. Ok then. Thanks!

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 12:56 AM

So the werewolves/seer should be PMing each other to see who to kill, right? *crosses fingers* not me..

Loslote 05-14-2010 12:57 AM

Now, let's get on to more serious topics! Xed, BG, Elfie (if he's still around), I say you are all wolves. How do you plead? *looks all stern and stuff - why is there no good smilie for looking all stern and stuff? the angry one just isn't quite right*

No, the wolves can't pm during the Day, and the seer should have already gotten their dream(s). Speaking of which, the seer should probably use those extra dreams as soon as they can, if they haven't already. After all, early in the game we're shooting practically blind - we're going to need as much help as we can get. Later on we should have a better idea.

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 01:01 AM

But it's not Day, it's only midnight

Celuien 05-14-2010 01:02 AM

I plead not guilty to the charge of being a wolf. For evidence, I submit my entry in the hitchhiker's guide - mostly harmless. Also, I love to eat garlic. Wait, that's for vampires...

However, all of our cotravelers who aren't at the party yet are definitely wolves.

the Day is different from the day. The Day is when people are allowed to post on the thread. Night is when wolves are allowed to pm (and usually choose a kill) and gifteds are allowed to use their gifts. We switch between them at the deadline (in this case, two hours ago).

Now this I have to agree with. They are clearly all being submarines.

And you get a free I've-never-played-with-you-before-so-I-shan't-vote-you-Day-1 pass anyway, so I may as well accept that for toDay. :p

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 01:08 AM

But...but...Let me get this straight:

The times aren't from 5-12 12-5 (being now until 5 in the morning) OH at dawn 11PM est time!! So the werewolves are going to kill someone tonight/in the morning?

Well, depending on timezone, yes (3 AM here, woohoo!). But Day with a D is the phase in the game when the village is up to talk, and not the actual RL daytime with a d. In this case, Day starts and ends whenever the 24h deadline passes in game - in this case, starting about 3h ago.

Edit: Crossed with all that up there since the post I replied to.

Yellow submarines! :smokin:

I rather like that I've only played with about half of this group before... it keeps my old habits of preconceived assumptions from prior games mostly out of my reasoning, which is excellent.

Not exactly. Each Day and Night are 24 hours long, and end at 12am CST (aka, a little over two hours ago). They have no relation to normal days and nights. :)

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 01:14 AM

So since its the Day, later we should be told who was killed, er, lynched. *might go to bed soon*

Ooh, now I have that song in my head - AND I've just lost the game!:p

And me too - I haven't played with...um...five of this village! How excellent. :smokin:

EDIT: xed with BG - actually, no one dies on the first Night. I think that's so that no one is forced to not play at all, right?

The Elf-warrior 05-14-2010 01:17 AM

I plead not guilty. I was joking when I called myself sinister.

Edit: Cross posted with Loslote.

And I was joking when I voted for you. We have a very silly village, don't we? :p

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 01:19 AM

I'm pretty sure we can jump around with signs saying "I'm a Seer" and not really be seers!

So between now and the end of the Day, the village can be expected to go absolutely mad and vote someone to die a gruesome death for wolfishness. After that, the 24h Night phase starts, during which the wolvies may PM and the gifteds get to do their thing.

No one dies on the first night except the mod to give everyone a chance to play. :)

Edit: More cross posting!

Blind Guardian 05-14-2010 01:21 AM

OK, so I should go to bed and wait for tomorrow?

The Elf-warrior 05-14-2010 01:23 AM

Sure. Go ahead.

Yes, and that can be fun in its own way, but it is exceedingly vexing for the real seer, so it is generally frowned upon by.

If you like. I plan to pretty soon myself... Just be sure to come back and vote tomorrow! :p

Of corpse i'll be here tomorrow! First thing! 10 in the morning! *falls asleep on stone* My backs going to hurt...ZzZ

That previous paragraph demonstrates that I am a truly sinister individual. Are you too blind to see the way I explain away something truly sinister about myself? Also, note the way he then diverts attention from himself by making a joking accusation about all the people who haven't posted yet. What we need is a strong leader with manly chest hair. On second thought, we need four strong leaders.

You're not the cobbler, by any chance, Elfie?:smokin:

People who make "false reveals" tend to wind up lynched, Blind Guardian.

That is EPIC! :p

Okay, furry friends, I have to go to work in a bit. (What is this two pages already rubbish, by the way?!?!) I'll be on a couple times but not for terribly long so I'll see what I can do. Until my return, behave yourselves! ^_^

Inziladun 05-14-2010 05:41 AM

Hmm. Two pages so early is quite unusual, but I see it's mainly a lot of banter, and questions about the Rules. Still, it's talking, and that's not a bad thing.

I suppose I should check the Admin Thread to see if it says whether votes should be highlighted or not.

Boromir88 05-14-2010 05:57 AM

Is up, but on my day off I fully plan on going back to the whole sleeping in thing. I just wanted the all-powerful Mod know that indeed I am indeed alive.

*Looks at post count.* Nah, not going to attempt it when I'm feeling curmudgeonly. If someone would kindly post a summary of the activity that would be great. Actually, whoever does post a summary, I will not vote for today.

*Hates shaky, clammering thunderstorms. Returns to snuggling 'neath blankets and curling into a ball.* Wake me in 4 hours please. Whoever does, I won't vote for today either.

It's mostly Lottie and Blind bantering and hashing out the rules. Love you and your curmudgeonly-ness, by the way. I'm on the way to class, but just wanted to let y'all know I'm here. :D

Well, that won't take long–

Summary.
Banter– Lottie accused everyone of being a wolf, then the Elf-Warrior accused himself, then Lottie voted him, only not really. Etc. Then Blind Guardian asked some questions about the rules, then said "of corpse" he'd be back. Which Lottie thinks is a Freudian slip.

Speaking of which–

So, I'm crazy sick right now, and therefore totally out of it. I also have to work today, but will likely not last more then 3 hours and will come home to sleep. So I'll try to be productive later on in the Day, but I don't know how coherent I'll be.

Hope you feel better. Your illness has apparently made you visible in the middle of a WW game! :p

Nerwen 05-14-2010 07:04 AM

So, I think it's time we started getting serious.

X number of wolves, depending on how many signups I get (likely to be 3, possibly 4) - with 1 extra nightkill, to be used at any time.

So– we have a super-cobbler. That's bad, very bad– especially as if he knows one wolf he might be able to work out the others.

EDIT:X'd with Zil.
Then, how do the Ranger's powers work? I know he gets an extra protection, but what about the normal variations– can he self-protect? Guard the same person twice?

Just another reason to get rid of whoever looks evil; none of that 'well, it's just the Cobbler so we'll just ignore them' stuff.

The Admin Thread says they can protect anyone with their extra protect, so I would take that to mean themselves too.

Indeed. As I've said before, the argument that, since cobblers count as villagers in the tally, they should be allowed to live doesn't make a lot of sense anyway.
