Aw, did I miss out? I've been busy and I didn't realise spots would go so fast... :(

It looks like a really fun game, though.

EDIT: Heh, I just realised all this signing up took place in the last 24 hours or so. No wonder. I truly meant to sign up yesterday, but I can't blame anything else but procrastination. But I've never seen a game fill up so incredibly fast (especially so quickly after the last game) and didn't know there were limited spaces. *smacks self* So much for trying to make up for my performance last game.

Feanor of the Peredhil 05-16-2009 12:39 PM

I feel it only fair to mention that I am taking the Angela Carter route in this game of fairy tales.

I shall rewrite and intertextualize to my heart's content, while harboring scandalous thoughts about wolf men and torture devices.

My chosen role shall be, as is apropos, Storyteller.

I shall make it my first priority not to interrupt your own tale telling, my dear Moddess.

Nienna 05-16-2009 12:55 PM

I'd like to be the village bookkeeper if I may.

I am, if anyone was unsure, female.

the phantom 05-16-2009 01:03 PM

I am a collector of books, and keeper of the village library.

I also talk to myself, talk to various inanimate objects, eat my sandwiches in the same odd pattern every time, freeze for three seconds whenever someone shuts a door, and do all sorts of other strange things for apparently no reason.

EDIT: Oh, you are kidding me. I started to make this post before Nienna posted, got distracted by PMs, and now "village bookkeeper" has been claimed. Hoo boy.... what to do...

wilwarin538 05-16-2009 01:04 PM

To Brinn: Lommy and Gwath have signed up tentatively, if one of them decide not to play you can most definitely have their spot. :)

Fail. What do you suppose the village bookkeeper does?

Feanor of the Peredhil 05-16-2009 01:06 PM

Books and library are just elaborate metaphors, eh fantòm?

the phantom 05-16-2009 01:08 PM

Actually, you know, that's fine. It fits well with my insanity that I've set up a library when there already is one. As a matter of fact, I almost never let anyone use it, and refuse to ever sell any of my books. It remains a mystery as to how I am able to afford to eat.

I don't get along with the other book keeper, or "that blasted library wench" as I call her. And yet I'm always sneaking in and reading her books, and occasionally I try to walk off with a few.

wilwarin538 05-16-2009 01:10 PM

So rather then bookkeeper, you are a book-imprisonner?? :p

Oh I can think of how you eat:Merisu:

Now I promise the next time I post I will come up with a profession, I thought I had one earlier...

Nay! I liberate books! Other people don't appreciate them- don't read them properly! Books are sad with other people. Only I can make them feel right- listen to what they really have to say.

All of my books are happy books. They're my friends.

Lariren Shadow 05-16-2009 01:15 PM

Ha! Remembered! Fortune teller!

Awwww, that was going to be my occupation, but I knew you'd say that.

(Get it? :p)

Anyway, I'll think of one I swear. Just a tad busy this afternoon packing up some stuffs. :)

wilwarin538 05-16-2009 01:29 PM

Ok, phantom shall be the crazy book liberator then.

Isabellkya 05-16-2009 01:37 PM

I just can't resist being a Baker.
I just saw a specific movie, and the songs won't leave my head. xD

On my planet, book keeper is a bean counter ie accountant..... though some of use also keep books in the other sense(as domestic pets...:p).

Of course you knew. As I knew that you wanted it so I snatched it first :D

McCaber 05-16-2009 01:58 PM

I shall be a humble shopkeeper, simply trying to improve his profit margins in this village on the brink of insanity. What does a man have to do to make a living in a storybook hamlet, anyway?

I'll probably be cast as a villain by some poor serving girl who has no money to buy sweets, or play the part of a ridiculous buffoon father-in-law with no hold on common sense. Ugh.

There ya go then. :p

Mirandir 05-16-2009 03:08 PM

Hem. So. APPARENTLY I'm incapable of choosing my own occupation and Lari and Nienna have done it for me. They say apothocary. I don't particularly feel like arguing with my roommates, even if they are across the world at the moment, so count me in for that.

Heh, I happened to see that on facebook and it made me giggle.

Incidentally if I don't give you an occupation feel free to use the one I put in my last post, even though I was (sort of, kind of, not really) kidding.

Boromir88 05-16-2009 05:24 PM

I would like to be a shrubberer. And this shrubberer will be accepting an apprentice if anyone is interested.

Boromir88 05-16-2009 05:33 PM

Make sure I have this straight...if you are one of the lover roles and are in danger of being lynched you can't say "I'm Prince Charming! Don't kill me!" correct? It makes sense, since there are so many roles and there won't be many ordos, it would be hard for the bad team to lynch someone during the day. I just want to make sure I have that right...under no circumstances are the lovers allowed to reveal their role? Little Red Cap won't know, but what about the Fair Maiden?

I rather thought the same thing.

Blah, took a nap to smack down a nassssty headache so I've not given more thought to a role. Well, I think I did but then I fell asleep. :o

wilwarin538 05-16-2009 09:17 PM

No, they cannot reveal, ever at all, for fear of ModGoddess wrath. Little Red Cap won't know who she is until it's too late, and she definitely won't want to reveal then. I doubt the Fair Maiden would want to, during the first 3 Days she wants to get her guesses in so that she can kill Rumplie, so she wouldn't want to reveal cause then he'd kill her. After that if she does reveal then Robber Bridegroom will totally kill her instantly, so she probably wouldn't want to. Oh, and his deaths will be instant, since he sends me names during the Day, once I get it if it's a lady then she's chopped right away, no warning. Cause that's fun, and I died like that in Sally's game and it was infuriating. :p

I'm quite excited about this new role by the way Boro, it's wonderful. :D

Oh, and I've decided (for narration purposes only) that anyone without a chosen role/job will be dubbed a vagrant and/or drunk. :Merisu: I am perhaps kidding.

A drunken vagrant? I've been called worse, but if Boro the shruberrer really wants an apprentice, I suppose that would be a good entry level position for me.

In the interest of creating maximum confusion, I will be a bookmaker.

Anyone want to be the Village Problem Gambler?

Sure, but please pronounce it "Row-jair"

Thank you. I was first thinking of maybe some "Giant" role, but didn't know how you would be able to fit it in, then I remembered the Robber Bridegroom and looked up the story. :D

Eomer of the Rohirrim 05-17-2009 06:56 AM

I'll be the gravedigger.

wilwarin538 05-17-2009 09:52 AM

So I'm off to work soon, I will be back in about 9 hours. That is when I will put up the game thread. The 12 hours following that will be when I send out the roles. Then Night 1 will start Monday. So keep an eye out.

Anyone who wants to give me a job/role should do that fairly soonish.

Anyone know whether Lommy is definitely playing or not?

Thinlómien 05-17-2009 12:47 PM

I'm playing, but I have given myself rules: if I want to play I have to 1) wake up earlier and play before my scheduled studing time and 2) only play in the evenings once I'm done with my studying, so don't expect me to be as loud as I tend to be! I'll be the local minstrel, if that sounds good. :)

wilwarin538 05-17-2009 07:19 PM

Gaurcrist: Please respond to the Private Messages that I have sent you. Thank you! :)

Game thread is going up now, I will be sending about half of the roles out now, and leaving the other half til the morning time after I've gotten some sleep and sorted some issues out.

Everyone should be getting themselves invisible soon!

Updated list:

Nerwen - bookmaker
Eomer - gravedigger
Lommy - minstrel
Aganzir - jailor, arena and lions included
Sally - some poor serving girl who has no money to buy sweets
McCaber - humble shopkeeper
Izzy - baker
Mira - apothocary
Gaurcrist - blacksmith
Shasta - fletcher
Gwath
Boro88 - the shruberrer
Kath
Inziladun - shruberrer's apprentice
Fea - Storyteller
Nienna - bookkeeper
Greenie
Lari - fortune teller
Mith - herbalist
the phantom - the crazy book liberator

Greenie, Gwath and Kath can still give me roles/jobs if you would like. If not then you will be the drunk and the vagrant and the drunk vagrant for purely narrational purposes. :p

satansaloser2005 05-17-2009 07:27 PM

Randomly, will everyone be getting PMs or just the people with roles? Just curious, dearie. Oh, and if I think of a better occupation by DL (which I probably won't, but still) are you okay with me changing it?

Can't wait to start! :D

wilwarin538 05-17-2009 07:36 PM

Just the people with certain roles. :D For now, the rest will get them in the morning. I have a system.

Oh yes, of course you can change it! :)

I'm excited to start too!!!

Gwathagor 05-17-2009 08:09 PM

I am content to be the drunk vagrant.

wilwarin538 05-17-2009 08:38 PM

All but 8 people have received their roles, I'm leaving those until tomorrow cause I'm practically falling asleep here. :p So everyone be patient please.

wilwarin538 05-18-2009 07:38 AM

For my narrational purposes only I have decided to make Kath a restaurant owner and Greenie a school-teacher. Hopefully there's no problem with that. :)

Aganzir 05-18-2009 07:44 AM

A pity - they would have made great drunks. :D
