Quote:

Who is Aragorn?
The King who Returns, son of Arathorn, Strider, a dark, mysterious guy who meets the Hobbits in Bree, a friend of Gandalf... a ranger....which answer did you want?
Quote:

"...But long ago he rode away
and where he dwelleth none can say
for into darkness fell his star
in Mordor where the shadows are. "

Salix 08-10-2002 10:59 PM

Whatever, you can go ahead.

Samwise 08-11-2002 09:07 PM

LOL...ok.
How many children did Sam and Rose have?
Quote:

It was Sam's turn that day to take the first watch, but Aragorn joined him. The silence grew until even Sam felt it. The occasional movements of his feet became loud noises. Sam could hear his own joints creaking, if he stirred.

NazgulNumberTen 08-11-2002 09:50 PM

13

Samwise 08-11-2002 10:01 PM

That indeed would be the number Mr. #10, sir (wondering how a Nazgul would know that... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/sad/confused5.gif )
Quote:

Sam eased the pack on his shoulders, and went over anxiously in his mind all the things which were stowed in it: his chief treasure, his cooking gear; and the little box of salt that he always carried and refilled when he could; woolen hose; linen; various small belongings of his master's that Frodo had forgotten and Sam had stowed to bring them all out in triumph when they were called for. He went through them all.

Boffer 08-12-2002 08:00 PM

On the road as he was nearing Bree heading for the Shire.

Throrin 01-03-2003 04:55 PM

since a question was not asked:

In the Fifth Battle of the War of Beleriand, someone killed the first dragon. Where was he lord of?

or, if that's too hard...what was the name of the first dragon?

Mandos 01-03-2003 04:56 PM

May I join in?

Beren87 01-03-2003 05:11 PM

Thorin, one must wait to see whether or not their answer was correct before posting another question

Mandos, YES! Just jump in and answer the question I post when akhtene confirms my answer.

akhtene 01-03-2003 07:14 PM

To Beren:
Not exactly.

zacattack 01-03-2003 09:40 PM

Thorin meet Gandalf in The Prancing Pony in Bree when he was heading towards Ered Luin

Beren87 01-04-2003 03:34 PM

Ack! I was going by the account in UT and not in Appendix A.

Stupid me for not looking at the appendices first.

Oups, sorry, Beren, I haven't read UT.

Your turn, zacattack

Legolas'Beloved 01-18-2003 01:00 PM

It been almost 2 weeks! Can someone else ask another question??

Beren87 01-18-2003 02:55 PM

Well, I have a half-correct answer, I'll go.

Where in the Michael Delving Museum was the Mithril-Mail stored? As in, what house?

Sindae 01-18-2003 04:50 PM

In the Mathom House?

Beren87 01-18-2003 05:19 PM

That is correct Sindae! Your turn

Sindae 01-19-2003 03:08 PM

Who was the father of Thorin Oakenshield?

InklingElf 01-19-2003 03:11 PM

Me me!

Thráin was the father of Thorin Oakenshield and lord of the people of Durin. One of the mightiest warriors of his age, he gathered the scattered companies of the Dwarves together to avenge the death of his father, and led them during the great and terrible War of the Dwarves and Orcs.

Sindae 01-19-2003 03:35 PM

correct....you go.

InklingElf 01-19-2003 03:38 PM

Ok thanks

Who was Boromir and Faramir's father?

Beren87 01-19-2003 03:45 PM

Denethor, steward of Gondor.

Thank you InklingElf btw, for keeping this to an easy level for the beginers who desperately need an easy trivia question. It would be nice to keep this limited to LotR and the Hobbit really. It would eliminate a lot of the complaints about not being able to jump into a topic because they're knowledge base isn't wide enough as of yet.
