Oh my dear! It would be so wonderful if you could. Finally, we can be in a game together! Usually, I'm always in some way left on the outside gate of the village saying, "Oh Zaut! Pas terrible!", or other such words that I cannot utter here within the hearing of more innocent ears than mine own...

This 'Call of the Wilde' (Sorry, I mean 'Wild'... ) playing sounds interesting, but with the retractable votes, eh I am not sure how this spaggetti in the end is going to stick to the ceiling. Even though it is wonderful at being flexible to anyone's wishes, retractable votes might muddle up the plans of the COTW playing. Or we might end up with a horrible mess in the end. Alas though, I cannot see into the future, let's hope to Oscar this works out in a beautifully unexpected, somewhat organized... way.

JennyHallu 02-27-2006 06:54 AM

You haven't taken Elu off of your master list yet...

Thinlómien 02-27-2006 06:59 AM

Wow, lots of new players have signed in while I've been gone. I think this'll be an interesting game.

I'll be a sculpturer, who is specialised in sculpting nightmare-like birds.

Encaitare 02-27-2006 07:10 AM

I shall be a scientist who specializes in analyzing small pebbles and other silly things.

Glad to be on board... it's been a while since I've played. This should be a fun game! :)

Anguirel 02-27-2006 07:39 AM

I hate to be a spoilsport, but I've seen another serious flaw in the Call of the Wild(e).

If the wolves choose a Gifted, and the Gifted is unaffected, they'll know that s/he is Gifted. That just makes the all too tricky Seer/Ranger/Hunter roles harder still. And a lost kill one night is not a massive disadvantage to the wolves, as it cheats villagers of evidence.

I really think this wild card is bound to be too wolf-weighted. If you want flexibility, Sleepy, and don't like the Cursed Villager, I recommend a Mythomaniac.

JennyHallu 02-27-2006 07:46 AM

^ Very very very good point.
|| A Mythomaniac or perhaps a cobbler would still give a lot of flexibility, and be a fun twist to the game...

I am aware of that but with fewer players it wouldn't have been too bad but now that we have more players I don't think its needed.

littlemanpoet 02-27-2006 10:03 AM

When will roles be given? When do we start?

yeah, Sleepy, when?

And will we be using the Call of the Wild card or not? Your last update on it was a bit vague.

Witch_Queen 02-27-2006 11:00 AM

WOOT! Its been a while since I've been in a game.............. hmmmmmmmmmmm... My role........... Anything against "The homeless guy..." he helps people when he can find it but sleeps in his cardboard box.

Sleepy Ranger 02-27-2006 11:04 AM

Players

JennyHallu - The friendly neighborhood nutcase waving a doomsday sign around
Roa_Aoife - Babysitter, the blonde, large chested one that always runs upstairs when she should be running out of the house
Nogrod - Post-Structuralist musician
Thinlomien - Sculpter specialiazing in making nightmarish birds.
Naria - Butcher

THE Ka - Moreish Pavlovian Psychologist
Witch_Queen - Homeless guy
Eonwe - Gold Miner

Littlemanpoet - Traveling minstrel/bard
Encaitare - a scientist who specializes in analyzing small pebbles and other silly things

Roles

3 Wolves
2 Seers
1 Ranger
1 Hunter
8 Villagers

I'm not sure if the two seers has been used before but it has been discussed before. It was supposed to be used in the game I was modding earlier but I have no clue if it was. Heres a run-down on the role, at night the seers PM each other and discuss strategy and pick a single name each night. So they'll just be given one name at night.

Rules

-Non-Retraceable Votes
-Double Lynchings are allowed
-When making a vote please keep it in a line seperate from the rest of the post and have it in bold with two pluses (++). (Even you, dear)
-Please stay invisible for your duration of the game.
-Refrain from discussing the game outside the playing area.
-It may be cliched but, 'Enjoy yourself!'

Thinlómien 02-27-2006 11:10 AM

Should we be invisible at the moment?

Sleepy Ranger 02-27-2006 11:12 AM

Change to invisible when you recieve your role.

Salacia Deloresista 02-27-2006 01:12 PM

Hey! Can I jump in for the next game?

Thinlómien 02-27-2006 01:23 PM

This game is full and you can't sign in for the next game before this one is over. Try again then. :)

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get online next Day. I won't be there at the start of they, probably.

As Thin'lo said, sorry, this started already, but don't misunderstand her message: you are most warmly welcome to the next one!!!

So: "trying again" means basically, being alert at the right time. Follow the game. You learn things by following it, and also know, when it ends and when you can sign in for the next one...

Sleepy Ranger 02-27-2006 01:31 PM

Note to everyone waiting for me to post my death: Well as I said, I'm promising you a great experience. Each of you will have an introduction written for you, then I shall write your arrival to the city where... certain things happen and then the game begins. So bear with me, theres quite a lot I have to write.

Sleepy Ranger 02-27-2006 03:46 PM

How could I forget?!? ARGH! ARGH! ARGH!
Everyone this is important, please try and keep your posts restricted to how much of the story I've revealed. I know its kinda breaking tradition but think of it as a smooth flowing story. Like at the moment you don't know that your foes are werewolves, all you know is there are traitors in your group and theres a madman on the loose.

Put stuff together from the parts of the story I give you. Once this is over I plan to make a short story out of it, with everyones approval of course.

Roa_Aoife 02-27-2006 06:22 PM

That's sounds like an amazing idea to me. You have my permission!

Eomer of the Rohirrim 03-01-2006 11:16 AM

The Broken Souls? Sounds quite unnerving! :D

Mithalwen 03-01-2006 11:19 AM

Eomer, you may want to know that I am modding the next game here and it will be small and basic - ie Seer only gifted , more or less on the original BW rules.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 03-01-2006 11:28 AM

I'd love to play in that game, Mith. Thanks for telling me. :)

I would have liked to play in Nilp's game too (which might run at the same time) but seeing how I played in the current Werewolf game I think I should not take a place there.

Mith, are you thinking 12 players?

EDIT: Sorry, it's probably bad form to speak about the next game just now. :o

Valesse 03-01-2006 11:58 AM

I'm giving a heads up for the next Day of play (March 2nd) I will probably not be very active because its my birthday! :D But yeah. I'll make an honest effort to snag a computer during voting/deducing-time.

While hidden clues would certainly be very helpful, the moderator is supposed to be impartial and generally anything s/he writes is not meant to give hints towards anyone's role. (Have there been precedents of this kind of hinting from the mods in other games? From the games I've played in, there have not been, and in some cases the mod even gave a disclaimer that none of his/her posts contained clues. Maybe if we could get a little disclaimer or something from Sleepy on this to tell us whether his posts are valid clues or not?)
Are my posts valid clues? Perhaps... I'll tell you this much, whatever I say could mean anything. It depends on how you read it and what you want to believe. None of my hints will be solid and they could mean anything, so think before you do anything. Because who knows, maybe I'm not pointing out what you believe I am. So basically whatever I say could have a double-meaning or you could be missing what I'm trying to say all together.

Good. I was hoping they were that subtle. In other words, it's not really worth it to break our brains over them. Stick to the discussion, folks, is what I say.

Well, I'm kind of relieved too. It would have taken brains the size of a planet and all the 24-hours / day to go through all the possible allusions - and their reversals...

But they, or the confusion about their status, sure "helped" at the first day madness. There was something to do! And maybe there will remain some tracks for later days... Happily we didn't kill anyone on the basis of those bad-leads.

Anyhow. The death of a wolf was taken from Sleepy's hint in the end!!!

I'm not sure, whether you are serious, or then just riddling... But wasn't the theory about Ka taken initially from the Cupid's arrow at Sleepy's description?

Or is it just, that you haven't read the posts?

And if you were just pulling my leg, then... I deserved it.
(I can only defend myself, that you had no smilies in your text: what a poor defence that makes!)

Valier 03-01-2006 03:44 PM

Thanks but I was just confused I thought you ment for us to look at his end post.I get what you mean now. Even though the arrow thing could have been a fluke.:p  (There I added some smilies for you)
