Hama is great and should advance. He's a definite underdog and you want to cut him down. He's that little kid that should have won but went against the odds and overcame them. He should be allowed to win. Thorondor on the other hand is a Lord and King, or so I am told, and he did nothing to earn it and did little with it. Give Hama a break.

Hama is more interesting than ++Thorondor...

wilwarin538 08-30-2006 12:03 PM

Day 23 is now over!

Thorondor - 7
Hama - 8
Smaug - 1
Chrysophylax Dives - 4
Gloin - 1

Hama will be the one to leave the island today!

Hama left the tribal council very nervously today, when suddenly a giant hand picked him up, and slapped him on a large slice of bread, after adding some mayonaise and cheese, the giant hand had created a Hama Sandwich, which he fed to his pet Hyena-Lemming-I'm-supposed-to-be-a-Warg-thingy.

Thus ends Day 23!

Remaining contestants:

From the Lord of the Rings Survivor
Gimli

From the Silmarillion Survivor
Elbereth

From the Hobbit Survivor
Smaug
Gloin

From the Second Age Survivor
Thorondor

From the Minor Works Survivor
Chrysophylax Dives

***************************************

You may now start voting!

mormegil 08-30-2006 12:28 PM

You monsters!!!

How could you evict Hama? He's the greatest thing that was left on this pitiful island. You just can't see the joy in voting for an underdog can you? Hama was wronged in the first survivor and that injustice should have been rectified during 'All Star' instead the injustice was only furtherd...for shame!

The Only Real Estel 08-30-2006 12:36 PM

Poor Hama.

Oh well, I don't care that much - certainly not as much as morm did. :p

I suppose I should probably honor my commitments. :rolleyes:

++ Gloin

I refuse to echo all the reasons that have been given for him over the course of this Survivor...but most all of them are true & valid. Not to mention somehow we're still stuck with two dwarves...

Rune Son of Bjarne 08-30-2006 12:38 PM

I enjoy supporting an underdog, but not as a rule. . . If we did so they wouldn't be underdogs now would they.

Foes of Hama shall be decimated!

The Only Real Estel 08-30-2006 12:53 PM

Either Bethberry made an innocent slip (& couldn't correct it...?), or she's chuckling evily at morm right about now.

My guess is that she's chuckling evily at morm right about now... :D

Kuruharan 08-30-2006 12:54 PM

I'm inclined to stick with my vote of yesterday. Thorondor is really the least compelling character remaining in terms of fan interest. If he gets into the final he'll make it a two horse race by default, which would make it less interesting.

++ Thorondor

Estelyn Telcontar 08-30-2006 01:08 PM

The Eagles are never around until the very end - I say we break with that bad habit of theirs and boot

Well, if you had been precise, I would have understood where your allegiance lay yesterday and Hama would still be here. Chrys could have been gone and Thorondor would be earning his wings today. But nooo, for some unaccountable reason .... *shakes head in confusion*

This is sure getting annoying. Get him out of here already!

shieldmaiden4xsword 08-30-2006 01:44 PM

those stupid dwarves are still around? Get him outta here!!!

++Gloin

Gil-Galad 08-30-2006 02:28 PM

Thanks alot people... now since Hama is gone i'm going to have to cry myself to sleep... :(

++Gloin

Firefoot 08-30-2006 02:55 PM

++Gloin

Well, there's two left from the Hobbit, two left of the Dwarves (and two dragons, actually - that ought to be rectified as well). I'd probably prefer Gimli being voted out, but if Gloin's the way the cookie crumbles, I shan't protest. And the Eagles are cool. Thorondor provides some contrast to our other winged contestants...

Macalaure 08-30-2006 03:01 PM

Vote Gloin and save Menel from madness!

++Gloin

Seriously, I think that more or less all reasons for his eviction have been given already. Let's get rid of him at last.

Nogrod 08-30-2006 03:17 PM

Agreeing with Morm about the shame of yesterday and Firefoot with Gimli being the one I would like to vote out... Against the tide, anyway.

But following one tide, just to get rid of these hordes of dwarves:

Evening up the number of contestants from each Survivor game...

Boromir88 08-30-2006 03:38 PM

If Thorondor's not gone by today, I will lose my motivation and my reason for participating in All-stars

(no knock to Wilwarin who's done a fine job, just the lack of juicy characters is a reason for no more further motivation...unless someone is able to do a convincing job that explains why I should be excited about the remaining contestants).

++Thorondor

Rune Son of Bjarne 08-30-2006 03:43 PM

I feel the same way, but for some reason I cannot stay away more than 2 days. . .

Meneltarmacil 08-30-2006 03:43 PM

Boromir, I'd say Smaug is a character worth getting excited about. He's not only big, dangerous, fiery, and powerful but also quite cunning and manipulative. One of the best of Tolkien's villains, if I do say so myself. Personally, I hope he wins.

shieldmaiden4xsword 08-30-2006 03:55 PM

I love Smaug...... :rolleyes: :p

See? See???!!!! I am sooo unpredictable. I wanted him to lose last round..... ;)

Rune Son of Bjarne 08-30-2006 04:10 PM

I knew you were going to say that ! ;)

shieldmaiden4xsword 08-30-2006 04:21 PM

LOL!!!!! I made myself crack up :D

Seriously, I like Smaug....now... he IS kinda cute, is he? ok, I'm just kidding. :rolleyes:

has anyone noticed The Only Real Estel has quoted me in his/her signature?

please don't get rid of Goldberry. cuz if you do you'll have me to deal with.

or something like that......we got rid of Goldberry anyway. :rolleyes:

*ahem* His.

Boro88: Lets get one of these dwarves out of here first...I don't mind at all voting Thorondor next round - I'd be voting for him this one if I hadn't already commited myself otherwise...

The Saucepan Man 08-30-2006 06:11 PM

Nothing against Eagles per se. Gwaihir's one cool bird with a groovy name and a funky title. But Thorondor is just plain dull.

We got rid of Manwe yonks ago. I see no good reason to allow his flunky to stay.

+ + Thorondor

Most. Boring. Contestant. Ever.

The only cool thing about him is that he can fly, and the dragons do that in much cooler fashion, so he's unnecessary.

Dragons are cool. They fly and they breath fire, plus they have pretty scales. If I could be anything, I'd be a dragon.

Your mileage of course may vary. :)

++Thorondor.

He's a bird. Birds crap on homes and public buildings. Dwarves are far more polite.

Really? I don't know...seems to me dwarves do just as much of that as birds. ;)

Now let's just examine that statement for a moment. If the eagles are never around until the end, then, in this case, they are always kicked off before the end. So, rather than breaking that habit, we would actually be upholding it if we ousted Thorondor. Well, I say we seriously get rid of that stereotype and have an eagle that does stay around until the very end. ( :p )

Let's get rid of Gloin instead. :D

++Gloin

I'm hoping to save all of our winged friends until there is no one else left. (That means Elbereth and Gimli are next... hey, how'd Gimli make it this far anyway!)

I would freely admit that Gloin would not be a worthy winner of this competition.

But his continuous presence does have wonderful "irritation value" in some quarters. Reason enough, surely, to keep him for now ... ;) :D

Must save Gloin so his son can beat the
(blonde?brunette?) pretty boy at the
killing orcs game at Helm's Deep.
