The Might 12-16-2007 11:26 AM

Indeed. :D
That however goes well with their intelligence.

When had the Rohirrim first met Hobbits?

Nerwen 12-16-2007 09:29 PM

When they still lived in the North.

The Might 12-17-2007 08:57 AM

Indeed...I would have rather had the location speciffied a bit clearer, but still correct

Nerwen 12-18-2007 06:19 AM

In whose reign did the race of uruks first appear?

The Might 12-21-2007 06:34 AM

'In the last years of Denethor I the race of uruks, black orcs of great strength, first appeared out of Mordor, and in 2475 they swept across Ithilien and took Osgiliath.'

Nerwen 12-21-2007 09:30 PM

Yep. Your turn.

The Might 12-22-2007 05:13 AM

Which twins were buried in a single mound?

Nerwen 12-22-2007 05:59 AM

Folcred and Fastred.

The Might 12-22-2007 06:04 AM

Indeed

Nerwen 12-22-2007 06:48 AM

Where was Castamir slain?

Marky Lazer 12-23-2007 06:47 AM

At the crossing of Erui.

Nerwen 12-23-2007 07:44 AM

Yep.

Over to you.

Marky Lazer 12-24-2007 05:05 AM

Thank thee!

Lightfoot was a parent of who?

The Might 12-24-2007 06:23 AM

Snowmane

Marky Lazer 12-24-2007 06:51 AM

Very correct! Your go obviously...

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-02-2008 07:03 AM

*Bump*

The Might. . . .

The Might 01-04-2008 10:26 AM

Ah yes...

From which king of Rohan did Eomund descend?

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-04-2008 07:52 PM

My sources tells me it is Brego

The Might 01-05-2008 07:28 AM

Your sources seem to be right.

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-05-2008 08:35 AM

Where did Brego dwell before Meduseld was built?

The Might 01-05-2008 08:42 AM

I believe that it was at Aldburg in the Folde just as Eomer did.

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-05-2008 08:53 AM

Yup

I think that Eorl lived there as well. . .not totaly sure though.

The Might 01-05-2008 09:06 AM

Yes, only he didn't live to see the Meduseld finished.

Anyhow, which beacon hill(s) was(were) the oldest?

Legate of Amon Lanc 01-23-2008 04:08 PM

I believe it was Amon Din.

Rune Son of Bjarne 01-29-2008 08:52 PM

*Bump*

Is it the correct answer?

The Might 03-27-2008 01:35 PM

I was a total Orc for forgetting so yes Legate take it !

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-27-2008 01:53 PM

He he... what was the thread about? :)

Okay...

Who were the two Kings of Gondor, who could be given the titles "Kings of the Hill", based on a certain military experience they both shared?

The Might 03-27-2008 02:17 PM

I guess first would be Aragorn II since he did get his troops on a hill before the Black Gate...

The second one however... eludes me for now.

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-27-2008 02:23 PM

Mwahaha, try to think then.

Nerwen 03-27-2008 09:10 PM

Aragorn II and Ondoher– both took up positions on a knoll (probably the same one) outside the Morannon.

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-28-2008 08:29 AM

Good, Anakin, good! Kill him!

...I mean, your turn, of course :D

Nerwen 03-28-2008 08:40 AM

... I couldn't stop myself, Chancellor...

Talking of Ondoher– after he was slain on that very knoll, who took command of his forces?

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-28-2008 08:44 AM

Minohtar, who was his nephew; although he also didn't last long.

Nerwen 03-28-2008 08:51 PM

Yes. Your turn.

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-29-2008 05:08 AM

Looks like we have either several minutes or half-days between the posts... :)

Okay, a thing that touches the matter, although just on the edge, but it does:

What was the best and fastest way from the Southern to the Northern Kingdom (while Arnor still existed)?

Nerwen 03-29-2008 06:13 AM

The North-South Road.

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-29-2008 06:17 AM

*beep* Wrong. :p

The Might 03-29-2008 06:54 PM

The road chose by Isildur, north next to the Vales of the Anduin, then crossing the High Pass.

Quote:

It was a long journey, but the only other way, west and then north to the road-meeting in Arnor, and then east to Imladris, was far longer. 6 As swift, maybe, for mounted men, but he had no horses fit for riding; 7 safer, maybe, in former days, but Sauron was vanquished, and the people of Vales had been his allies in victory. He had no fear, save for weather and weariness, but these men must endure whom need sends far abroad in Middle-earth. 8
Also check the notes for exact descriptions of the distance that would have been saved.

Legate of Amon Lanc 03-30-2008 05:09 AM

Very nice work, Miggy. But I have a little surprise for you: there was still one overall better and faster way which was used :smokin:

Nerwen 03-30-2008 05:11 AM

Gondor Airlines?
