"Long has that been lost," (...) "Many have said that it was never made save in legend, but others say that it was destroyed."
But I can't find what it's referring to, and don't have more time to look. |
I think I know who said that. Gandalf to Galadriel in The Unfinished Tales, forget what chapter. Perhaps the coming of the Istari? That's just a wild guess.

I didn't have time to play "Palantir of Fortune" recently, :(
but at least I can tell you that the quote above is Gimli referring to the "Endless Stair" in Khazad-dûm, when Gandalf tells them about his fight with the Balrog. (The Endless Stair led to the top of Zirakzigil) |
Duh! I knew it was in LotR, I knew it! And I knew it was an absurdly familiar quote.
|
Sorry sorry sorry! Well who do I give it to!?! I mean Firefoot got the words but Guinevere got who said it and where. Ok, no decisions for me, whoever gets here and posts first can take it :D
And apologies for lateness, I truly did not see that anyone had posted on here. How odd. |
I guess I'll go then.

E's then please.

and T's , while you're at it

"N" please
I've always understood that stating where the quote came from is more of a side note instead of the actual point. Getting the quote itself is what constitutes a win. |
Of course it is as Mormegil says! It wasn't my intention at all to "steal" Firefoot's turn ! ;)

S, please

Theoden King about the Hornburg and yes it gave the words I needed thanks. |
Sure thing! Your go.

"---,/----/---/---/----/---/-----,/(...)/---/---/----/-----/-/----/---/---/--/---/----/----,/-----/----/--/----/---." One question I had for Guinevere and Firefoot does it necessarily need to be an actual quote, that is somebody saying something or can it be anything from the books? |
Let's start off with some S's. (Go figure. )

Well, I've been playing this game since 2002, and up to now we've as a rule taken actual quotes, or part of songs and poems. (with some rare exceptions, I believe)
It would be much harder if we take just some random piece of narrative, wouldn't it ? Though there are some well-beloved narratives that would easily be recognizable too. I'd like to see the T's, please. |
SOT
