New one:
Children, please color in and around the blank spaces, link erroneous cat hat all together.
Three words in this one.

Gil-Galad 09-06-2004 07:12 PM

all i got was Olorin... must be first time bad luck...

The Perky Ent 09-06-2004 07:27 PM

Scatha?

luthien-elvenprincess 09-06-2004 07:54 PM

Perky, Scatha is, indeed, one of the three.
Gil-Galad, wow, I didn't see that one! However, it is not one of the three I intended. :)

The Perky Ent 09-06-2004 08:08 PM

Yay!

So this one day, I was biking to the library, going to check to see if they had The Adventures of Tom Bombadli, and on the way, I passed Sports Authority. As I looked through the window, I saw their shoe display. On the display was a really good pair of shoes. So, I forgot the library and went home. My mom was cooking at the time. I went up to her and said "Mom, can I have money for new shoes?" She staired at me and said, "What's wrong with the ones you've got" And to this day, I still wear the same pair of shoes

luthien-elvenprincess 09-06-2004 08:34 PM

Perky, what is this?
My puzzle hasn't been correctly answered yet.

The Perky Ent 09-06-2004 08:48 PM

oh
i'm sorry. I thought you said I was right. I had no idea I had to answer 3! Usually you only answer 1...

Samwise 09-07-2004 04:53 PM

Slinker

luthien-elvenprincess 09-07-2004 05:17 PM

Samwise has one right, so does Perky. If either of you get the third answer, you get to be next! :)

The Perky Ent 09-07-2004 05:23 PM

Ea?

luthien-elvenprincess 09-07-2004 05:38 PM

nope, thats not it. Actually, Gil-Galad was kinda close with his guess :p

The Perky Ent 09-07-2004 05:54 PM

Lorinand?

Samwise 09-07-2004 10:20 PM

Orin?

luthien-elvenprincess 09-08-2004 08:55 PM

The correct answers are Lorinand, Slinker and Scatha. So, Perky got two of the three right, and Samwise got one right. Therefore, Perky, it is your turn. Good job!

The Perky Ent 09-08-2004 09:50 PM

Yay! Here's the next one:

Kath 01-22-2005 09:21 AM

Hey is the Perky Ent around anymore? And if not does someone want to take up the thread?

The Saucepan Man 03-27-2006 07:02 AM

Time to revive this one, I think.

To start us off again, a fairly easy one. There are six related words to be found in the following passage:

Quote:

In July, the Lombard infantry were encamped in the chasm. August found them taking the mountain path, rushing to secure the pass, where border raids allowed them to encroach upon the Germanic archers.

That's all I could find, I'm a little unsure about Bard.

The Saucepan Man 03-27-2006 04:07 PM

That's six, so the thread is yours, Kath. :)

Samwise 03-27-2006 04:40 PM

Long time, no see.....

 Yes, please go, Kath. My brain needs excersise.

;) Interesting icon, there, Saucepan Man...

Kath 06-20-2006 10:21 AM

Thanks to Mettare for the poke. An easy one to get things going again. Two words to find.

Quote:

Geri adores her new friend but says, “Am I old enough for a puppy?”

Samwise 06-20-2006 01:36 PM

*says, "AM "

Sam...can't find the other one...:(

Mithalwen 06-20-2006 01:42 PM

Geri adores her new friend but says, “Am I old enough for a puppy?”

Eriador I am sure of but Sam may be accidental...

Anguirel 06-20-2006 01:43 PM

Eriador and Sam-

G eri ador es

and say s am as above.

Kath 06-20-2006 02:05 PM

Correct Mith! And just in before Ang too.

Mithalwen 06-26-2006 12:37 PM

Elrond on Aragorn.....

Give him razor, hairbrush and soap to restore elan or have the smelly goblin directed to Mordor...

Kath 06-26-2006 12:41 PM

How many words Mith?

Anguirel 06-26-2006 12:43 PM

Imrazor, Elanor, Lindir and Tom (possibly unintentional).

him razor

elan or

goblin directed

to Mordor

Mithalwen 06-26-2006 12:49 PM

Three ...Ang is spot on even to the unintentional bit.... which perhaps compensates for being pipped before..:D

Car ant hired in media controversy-mag lord Murdoch comments "I am Rastapopoulos of modern era-even insects slam rod of iron into my rivals."

Okay, it doesn't make that much sense...four names.

The Saucepan Man 07-01-2006 06:04 PM

Ang being the question setter, I probably should have guessed it without even looking at the clue ... :D

What, no Maedhros? ;)

Anguirel 07-02-2006 03:27 AM

I sort of copped out on Maedhros...well done Sauce...

The Saucepan Man 07-06-2006 03:40 AM

Thanks Ang. :)

Giles and I both played up front for our local football team. Whenever a goal was scored, it was always either him or me. Giles had a great talent for scoring goals. He could fire footballs into the net with ease. He had a real cavalier attitude, and it always seemed to pay off. Whenever he had the ball, he only had eyes for the goal, a target for him alone and no one else. He was my rival, essentially, which I always thought odd. We never really hit it off together.

“Look at his skill,” people would say.

“La La La!” I thought jealously. “I’m better than him.”

But, more often than not, I would find myself off-side when I made my runs and constantly had to endure linesmen’s calls. I guess I had to accept in the end that he was simply better than me. So, whenever jealousy struck, I took refuge in penitence and recited Ave Maria.

Still, we had a great football kit. Ann, a local artist, designed it for us.
There are the same number of words to find as there are in players in a football (soccer) team, all related. :D

Mithalwen 07-06-2006 06:30 AM

Very clever ..8 found but I have to get back to work now :(

I am not sure that Red is intentional ..Gil is there of course but since that isn't his full name..

Almost hope Red isn't right becasue this will be such an impossible act to follow!!

Edit no not red ..mormegil.. knew there had to be a reason why Giles ... oh bother ...

The Saucepan Man 07-06-2006 06:43 PM

Spot on, Mith. :)

Red was unintentional.

No pressure, but I'm looking forward to a real brain teaser from you ... ;)
