I'm starting to think it may be Nogrod after all, with this post. It's one thing to be happy you were saved from a lynch, but to use a :cool: ?

If you guys could all see my really concerned and dubious expression... Sigh.

I literally have no idea. Normally when I say something like, "I have no idea," I'm lying through my teeth, or I have a gut instinct that's fairly accurate. This game? This time? Today? I have no idea what I or anybody else is doing.

Any one of you could be bone munchingly evil and it would come as no surprise to me.

Since WilwaSam voted for Nog, he's my pick (for all the good it'll do).

So this is how things stand at this point, as my limited understanding allows.

We have Shelob, 2 spiderlings, and 1 been-stung with 6 living players. So we're tied at 3.

Scenario 1: We lynch Shelob.
Yay.
Odds: 1/6

Scenario 2: We lynch a spiderling.
Day ends with Shelob and 2 spiderlings against 2 innocents. Bad.
Odds: 1/3

Scenario 3: We lynch the been-stung.
See scenario 2.
Odds: 1/6

Scenario 4: We lynch an innocent.
Duh.
Odds: 1/3

So our ONLY choice of winning is by lynching Shelob toDay. Wow. :rolleyes:

Yes, there are. By the end of toDay, there will be three.

Well, I see no reason to go for anyone else over Nog. Based on Wilwa's vote, he's got to be the best bet.

Here's the deal. Chances are the three baddies will vote for the same person to force a tie (if not get an innocent lynched). If a tie occurs, there will be no death, by which time the third spiderling will appear. 4 baddies, 2 innocents. Game over.

So - not jumping to assumptions here - but say the three of us all vote against Nogrod. If he's bad, and the three of us are all innocent, the other 3 will all vote against one of us. Of course there's no chance we could convince one of them to vote against Nog. :rolleyes: But if he's innocent, then they'll most likely vote for him, too.

Gah. What should we do?

If Nog is Shelob, the spiderlings naturally would have tried to save him, and that's exactly what happened. So...

Nog= Shelob

Nerwen= Spiderling

Shasta= Spiderling

That's how it looks, anyway.

Which means it may not even be a tie at all. But we've never seen a been-stung's vote not being counted so far in this game, right?

Good news:
So, spiderlings, if you help us lynch Shelob, you will revert to your good old selves. We will all win - except Shelob. (Do I have this right, Moddess?)

Come on. Wouldn't you want to give the good guys another point in the official Werewolf tally? (The last time I checked - 2 years ago - the villains are still in the lead. They always have been).

Besides, you can consider this as payback to Shelob for stinging you in the first place. ;)


(I had already taken my glasses off and started counting sheep when this came to my mind. I swear this game has seriously messed up my already-messed up sleep cycle. :rolleyes: )

But the problem with my good news is that we're not 100% certain Nogrod IS Shelob, and obviously the spiderlings can't reveal him OR themselves.

Sigh.

And I daresay you'll take full credit for my complete inability to properly participate? It's such a tactical advantage, you see. Such a glorious victory. All the best competitions are won against crippled adversaries. Do you gloat when you joust against the turbine of a windmill and it retreats, its back to the wind and to your sword? :p

Nope. Not at all. But I do take some credit from realising we could win if you didn't appear in the end of yesterDay... and being able to execute it. :rolleyes:

I mean, about one hour before the DL yesterDay I was more or less sure that we had lost. And it looked totally grim, anyway I counted the numbers.

Until I realised that you hadn't posted the whole Day and started keeping my thumbs up you wouldn't... as without you it was actually possible to lynch Wilwa which I had thought impossible from the get go (well from after I had myself started to hint about her being Sam). So suddenly there was light in the end of a tunnel that had just been turning darker and darker however well we played...

Had I known that you were not participating I would agree with you. But without that knowledge we were actually just laying all our eggs to one basket and hoping for the best on the last minutes.

The gloriousness of our victory doesn't come so much from that though, but from the game mechanics which were really against us; the slowness of spiderlings turning, Sam having a capability to both ranger and heal, the loose rule of "you should not reveal" (which meant practically every goodie-role revealed) etc. And really: we had to outnumber you, the normal coming to the level in numbers was not enough...

All best competitions are won against overpowering adversaries - and you get to feel really happy when you find the weakness from there when things look desperate at the last hour... So yes, I feel like we deserve some gloating rights. :cool: :)

Most assuredly you have won, and well. I shan't deny you that. But I shall point out that I did say I wouldn't be around to vote, so you could have saved yourself needless concern about me showing up to ruin your mischief. :cool:

I take comfort in knowing that I pegged the two of you before it's too late.

On second thought, it is too late.

And I have to add: this has to be the most awkward end game situation I've ever been in. Not to mention the most hilarious.
